'Brahmastra Part One: Shiva' Becomes The Third Highest-Grossing Indian Movie of 2022
Mumbai, September 30 - Director Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra Part One: Shiva has become the third highest-grossing Indian film during the entire covid-19 pandemic.
The fantasy action adventure film has grossed over Rs. 416 crores at the worldwide box office, crossing Kamal Haasan's mega-blockbuster Vikram's Rs. 414.43 crores gross. "Brahmastra" is already the highest-grossing Bollywood movie since Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff's "War" (2019).
In 2022, four Indian films crossed the Rs. 400 crores mark at the box office worldwide. Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2 is the biggest Indian grosser with Rs. 1,207 crores, followed by SS Rajamouli's trendsetting RRR, which has so far grossed approx. Rs. 1,112 crores. "RRR" will be released in Japan next on October 21st.
"Brahmastra", meanwhile has grossed Rs. 307 crores at the domestic box office in flat 3 weeks while overseas collection stands at approx. Rs. 109 crores. In the USA, the first part of the planned "Brahmastra" trilogy has become the second biggest Indian movie, after "RRR" in 2022.
Produced by Dharma Productions, Starlight Pictures, and Prime Focus in association with Star Studios, the movie stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, and Mouni Roy in prominent roles along with Nagarjuna Akkineni and Shah Rukh Khan in cameos.
