Happy Birthday Hrithik Roshan - The last Genuine Superstar Of Bollywood

Hrithik Roshan started his tinsel town journey in 2000 with a mega-blockbuster Kaho Na Pyar Hai. The debut film of Hrithik Roshan was a huge craze back then and it nearly made him the superstar. Kaho Na Pyar Hai to date remains the Biggest career hit of Hrithik Roshan.

After having a dream start to his career, Hrithik Roshan followed that with many Blockbusters. In 2001 Hrithik Roshan teamed up with Shah Rukh Khan And Amitabh Bachchan in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and delivered one of the biggest hits of the decade. Koi Mil Gya became the Blockbuster Highest Grosser of the year in 2003 which was his father's directorial.

The peak of Hrithik Roshan came in 2006 when he delivered two back-to-back Blockbusters Dhoom2 and Krrish. Hrithik Roshan was the number one star between the period of 2000-2006 if you look from the box office point of view. The shine of potential megastar was taken away with films like Guzarish, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and Kites which were not in the zone of Krrish, Koi Mil Gya, and Dhoom 2.

The comeback has happened with the Superhero flick Krrish3 which became a Blockbuster. The last huge hit of Hrithik Roshan was War in 2019 which was the highest-grossing film of the year. There are not many complaints as far as box office records are concerned as Hrithik Roshan is the only star after the Khan-Troika who has all kinds of Box office records in his repertoire. From Blockbusters to Highest Grosser of the year. From Opening records to huge mass fan following and whatnot.

In all-time stars, Hrithik Roshan does remind us of one of those stars who was huge in terms of the magnitude of hits but lacks well behind in terms of volume of successes. Raj Kapoor in the 1950s, Manoj Kumar in the 1960s and 1970s, Sunny Deol in the 90s, and Aamir Khan throughout his career remained that way where the magnitude of hits was massive but a number of successes were less.

Alpha Day 12 Net earns 0.85 Crore as Alia Bhatt nears 10th million dollar North America hit

BY SACNILK

As Alpha completes its twelfth day in theaters, the box office performance reflects a quieter run compared to the usual high-stakes expectations associated with the YRF Spy Universe. Despite the novelty of being a female-led entry in the franchise featuring Alia Bhatt, the film is currently navigating its second week with modest figures. Let us take a look at how the latest numbers and occupancy trends are shaping up for the film. On its second Tuesday, Alpha recorded a net collection of 0.85 Crore across 2,344 shows. This marks a 13.3 percent growth compared to Monday's 0.75 Crore, though the daily earnings remain on the lower side for a project of this scale. With these latest numbers, the total India net collection has reached 55.20 Crore, while the domestic gross now stands at 65.77 Crore. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The global performance remains a key part of the film's journey. On Day 12, the international markets contributed 0.50 Crore, bringing the total overseas gross to 26.70 Crore. When we combine the domestic and international figures, the worldwide gross collection for Alpha has now reached 92.47 Crore. This has been achieved through a cumulative total of 65,445 shows scheduled since the release. A closer look at the North American market via data from Venky Box Office shows that the film earned 9,000 dollars on Monday, taking its total in the region to 910,000 dollars. The film is now very close to the 1 million dollar milestone. If this is achieved, Alpha will become Alia Bhatt's 10th film to reach this mark in North America. This is a significant achievement for her as a solo female lead, following the success of her previous hits: Gully Boy, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Raazi, Dear Zindagi, Kalank, 2 States, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The digital interest on BookMyShow also reflects a growing trend during the second week. On the second Monday, the platform recorded 10.8K tickets sold, which jumped to 17.29K tickets on the second Tuesday. This brings the total ticket sales on the platform to 951.72K. Occupancy rates for Day 12 show a logical progression throughout the day. The overall occupancy stood at 19.71 percent. Morning shows started slowly at 7.00 percent, but the numbers improved as the day went on. Afternoon shows recorded 17.54 percent, followed by 20.54 percent in the evening. As expected with action films, the night shows saw the highest engagement with 29.46 percent occupancy. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Regional performance highlights where the film is currently strongest. The National Capital Region led the charts with 23.8 percent occupancy across 307 shows, peaking at 34 percent for night screenings. Mumbai followed with 18.3 percent occupancy from 154 shows, with night shows reaching 28 percent. In other regions, Surat saw 14.3 percent occupancy across 87 shows, while Bengaluru recorded 13.0 percent from 86 shows. Ahmedabad had a more modest 11.5 percent occupancy from 153 shows. Performance within the national cinema chains on July 14 remained consistent with the overall trend. PVR sold approximately 1.6K tickets, resulting in a gross of 2.5 Lakhs. INOX followed with 0.8K tickets and a gross of 1.2 Lakhs, while Cinepolis added around 0.9K tickets for a 1.3 Lakhs gross. Collectively, these three chains accounted for 3.3K tickets and a total gross of 5 Lakhs for the day. This activity was recorded across 987 shows with an average occupancy of 2 percent. The stability in these urban centers is helping the film push closer to its next major milestones.

Jailer 2 Audio Launch in Malaysia? Reported Move to Follow Endhiran and Jana Nayagan Trend

BY SACNILK

Reports circulating online suggest that a grand audio launch for Jailer 2 might be headed to Malaysia. News of preliminary discussions between Superstar Rajinikanth and Dato' Abdul Malik, the head of Malik Streams, has sparked widespread speculation that the team is planning a massive international event. If this move is finalized, it would mirror the highly successful promotional strategy used for the 2010 blockbuster Endhiran, which also held its audio launch in Malaysia. By choosing an overseas venue, production house Sun Pictures appears to be focusing on the film’s global distribution potential, aiming to further expand the massive international footprint established by the first installment. The move follows a prestigious tradition of high-profile Tamil film events in the region. Historically, Superstar Rajinikanth himself initiated this trend with the landmark audio launch of Endhiran in 2010 at the PICC Putrajaya. This was more recently followed by the massive event for Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan in 2025, which drew significant crowds to the Stadium Bukit Jalil. If Jailer 2 proceeds with its current plans, it would become the latest major production to utilize Malaysia's grand venues to kickstart its global promotional campaign. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The makers have already locked in a strategic release window to capitalize on a major holiday period. Jailer 2 is officially scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on October 15, 2026. This date aligns perfectly with the Dussehra and Ayudha Pooja festivities, a move designed to drive heavy footfalls during one of the most lucrative box office seasons in India. By securing this slot well in advance, Sun Pictures is positioning the film to dominate the screens, much like the original film did during its record-breaking run. One of the most exciting aspects of the sequel is the expansion of its cast into a true pan-Indian ensemble. Rajinikanth returns as the retired lawman Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, but he is far from alone in this high-stakes narrative. Industry reports confirm that Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar will reprise their popular roles as Mathew and Narasimha, respectively. Adding further gravitas to the lineup are veterans Jackie Shroff and Mithun Chakraborty, who are expected to anchor pivotal supporting threads. The sequel also introduces fresh faces to the franchise, with Vidya Balan, Vijay Sethupathi, and S.J. Suryah officially joining the main roster. In what is being described as a major highlight, Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan is reportedly locked in for a high-octane cameo appearance, further cementing the film's pan-Indian appeal. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The core creative team remains unchanged. Nelson Dilipkumar returns as both writer and director, with a plan to lean deeper into his signature style that blends dark comedy with stylized, high-stakes action. Similarly, the musical landscape of the sequel is in familiar hands, with Anirudh Ravichander set to compose the entire soundtrack and background score. Fans can also expect to see returning favorites like Ramya Krishnan as Viji Pandian, along with Yogi Babu and Sunil, ensuring that the personal and comedic elements of the first film transition smoothly into this new chapter. The decision to potentially move the audio launch to Malaysia suggests a calculated effort to treat Jailer 2 as a global cinematic event. By combining a star-studded cast from multiple film industries with an international marketing campaign, the producers are aiming for a performance that transcends regional boundaries. As the project moves through its various production stages, the focus will remain on how Nelson balances this massive ensemble while staying true to the grounded, gritty roots of Muthuvel Pandian’s journey.

Alpha Box Office: The YRF Actioner Ends First Week With 47.50 Crore Net; A 1st Week Comparison With Other Spy Universe Films

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, July 10 - Alia Bhatt and Sharvari-starrer Alpha has completed its first week at the Indian box office with a modest 47.50 crore net. The film did decently considering the immense negativity, but it failed to live up to the high expectations YRF Spy Universe has set over the years with blockbuster starts. The Yash Raj Films spy thriller witnessed a decent opening weekend. Still, it could not maintain the momentum during the weekdays, resulting in the lowest first-week total (not surprisingly) among all films in the YRF Spy Universe. Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha opened with 9.25 crore net on its first day and showed growth over the weekend. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) However, collections dropped considerably from Monday onwards, with the discounted ticket offer providing only a limited boost. It is going to be tough for Alpha to score going forward due to the new releases and strong holdovers occupying maximum screens, leaving little room for actioner to cover the lost ground. As said, among all seven released films in the YRF Spy Universe, Alpha has registered the lowest first-week collection by a considerable margin. Shah Rukh Khan-led Pathaan continues to hold the record with a phenomenal 350+ crore net in its opening week, while the rest of the films also opened huge. The failure of Alpha could be the final nail in the coffin for the YRF Spy Universe, which has been losing its mojo for the last couple of films. Hrithik Roshan To Headline Chhaava Director Laxman Utekar's Next?

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, July 9 - After the massive success of Chhaava and a potential big success of the upcoming film Eetha, director Laxman Utekar is reportedly setting the wheels in motion for his next directorial venture. According to the latest industry reports, the director has approached Hrithik Roshan to headline an ambitious new film, although the project is still in its early stages and no agreement has been finalised yet. As per a Variety India report, Laxman Utekar recently narrated the script to Hrithik Roshan, who is said to have responded positively to the concept. However, the superstar is yet to make a final decision, as he is currently occupied with multiple commitments. If everything falls into place, the project will mark the first-ever collaboration between the actor and the acclaimed filmmaker. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Laxman Utekar has emerged as one of Bollywood's most successful directors in recent years with films such as Luka Chuppi, Mimi, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, and the blockbuster historical drama Chhaava. He is currently awaiting the release of Eetha, a biographical drama starring Shraddha Kapoor, before moving on to his next feature. Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan has an exciting slate ahead. The actor is currently focused on the pre-production of his directorial debut, Krrish 4. He will be next seen in Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 as he has already shot his cameo on June 22 and June 23 in Chennai. While reports of his collaboration with Laxman Utekar have generated considerable buzz, the project may take some time to start as Hrithik also has a movie with Hombale Films.

Alpha Day 1 Box Office: Film Collects Rs. 9.25 Cr Net; Ranks 3rd Among Top 5 Female-Led Bollywood Openers

BY SACNILK

The YRF Spy Universe has officially expanded its horizon with the release of Alpha. This film marks a significant milestone as it is the first female-led project in the high-stakes franchise. On its opening day, Alpha managed to grab the attention of the audience across the country, showing steady momentum despite the heavy expectations that come with being part of such a successful cinematic universe. The movie opened on July 3, 2026, across 7,534 shows, which is a massive footprint for a standalone thriller of this scale. In terms of financial performance, Alpha collected an India net of 9.25 crore on its first day. When we look at the gross figures, the film brought in 10.80 crore from the domestic market. The early estimates for the overseas market are also trickling in, suggesting a gross collection of around 5.00 crore. This brings the total worldwide gross early estimates to 15.80 crore for the opening day. To give you a sense of the international interest, data from Venky Box Office indicates that in North America, the film earned 207,000 dollars from 393 locations as of Friday evening PST. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The engagement on booking platforms reflects a healthy appetite for the film. On BookMyShow, the movie saw a total of 224,670 tickets sold for the opening day. This includes a pre-sale count of approximately 71,000 tickets and an additional 154,000 tickets booked on Friday itself. This trend shows that while the advance booking was solid, the actual day-of sales provided a necessary boost to cross the 9-crore mark. When we break down the performance in national multiplex chains, we see that PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis contributed a combined gross over 1.80 crore. Individually, PVR led the pack with 1 crore, while INOX and Cinepolis contributed roughly 56 lakhs and 23 lakhs respectively. These chains sold about 46,000 tickets in total. The regional occupancy rates offer more insight into where the film is resonating most. Hyderabad and Bengaluru recorded the highest occupancy at nearly 25 percent and 24 percent, while the National Capital Region followed closely at 23.5 percent. Mumbai saw an occupancy of 20 percent. The night shows in Hyderabad were particularly strong, peaking at 47 percent, which suggests that the film might see a jump over the weekend. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) To provide some context on where Alpha stands, we have compared its opening day net collection with other major female-led Bollywood films. Currently, Alpha has secured a spot in the top three, matching the opening numbers of the recent hit Crew. While it sits just behind Veere Di Wedding and Gangubai Kathiawadi, it has successfully claimed a joint third position, comfortably outperforming titles like Dear Zindagi. As the first female-led chapter of the YRF Spy Universe, its performance will be closely watched to see if it can maintain this pace. With 224K tickets sold on the first day and strong late-night occupancy in major cities, the film has built a foundation to capitalize on the Saturday and Sunday footfalls. The balance between domestic net collections and overseas early estimates will determine how quickly it can reach the profit zone in the coming week.

Alpha Twitter/X Reactions: Is This The End For YRF Spy Universe?

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, July 3 - Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh-fronted hits the big screen today, and the release has sparked intense discussion online, with social media users questioning whether the movie is the final nail in the coffin for the ever-fading Yash Raj Films Spy Universe? While many viewers praised the film’s action, visuals, and performances, a large section of Twitter reactions described the movie as predictable and formula-driven. Several fans pointed out that the franchise now feels repetitive, relying heavily on slow-motion action, big cameos, and universe-building moments instead of strong storytelling. The criticism surrounding Alpha reflects a growing issue of franchise fatigue in Bollywood. Audiences today are demanding more emotionally engaging stories rather than just large-scale spectacle. Alpha Day 1 Live Update: YRF Spy Actioner Faces Opening Day Challenge

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, July 3 - The much-anticipated YRF Spy Universe film Alpha faced an early test at the box office on its opening day, as trade analysts closely monitored its initial occupancy trends amid decent pre-release hype. Starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, the action thriller arrived in cinemas with massive expectations attached to the shared universe. While the film witnessed a slower start in some circuits during the morning shows, the overall buzz remained steady across multiplex chains in major cities. At the same time, the film's advance booking performance has been surprisingly better than expected, with Alpha crossing over 5 crore gross including blocked seats for opening day. The encouraging pre-sales figures have kept the film on track for a double-digit opening at the Indian box office, especially if audience word of mouth turns positive through the evening. Industry observers believe that the strong franchise value of the Yash Raj Films Spy Universe could help the film gain momentum over the next few days. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The pressure on Alpha remains high because it marks the first female-led instalment in the popular spy franchise, leading to constant comparisons with blockbuster titles such as Tiger, Pathaan, and War. Despite mixed reactions to some promotional material, audiences have praised the scale of the action sequences and the performances of the lead cast. If the film manages to secure strong audience approval over the weekend, trade analysts believe Alpha still has the potential to emerge as a successful addition to the expanding YRF Spy Universe. Alpha Opening Day Box Office Expectations: Alia Bhatt, Sharvari's Actioner Heads For 7-8 Crore Net Opening

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, July 2 - The buzz surrounding Alpha has been steadily growing as Alia Bhatt and Sharvari gear up for the release of their upcoming spy action thriller. Backed by YRF and set within the popular Spy Universe, the film has attracted attention primarily because of its female-led espionage storyline and stylish action-packed presentation. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The trailer and promotional material have received mostly positive reactions online, with audiences praising the visuals and action sequences, though some remain cautious about the film's mass appeal compared to previous entries in the Spy Universe. It was important for the movie to show some movement in advance sales, which opened just two days before release. Advance bookings in multiplex chains have shown fair momentum so far, particularly in urban centres, with over opening day sales reaching 2+ crore gross (with block seats) as of 3 PM, with a few hours still left before the film hits the big screen on July 3rd. While the advances are not that strong, they are not too poor either. The trade has been projecting 7-8 crore net opening, and the pre-sales trend does suggest the same. Positive word-of-mouth could still push the film closer to a double-digit opening, but that's the thing for the future. If the film manages to score on the projected lines, it can be considered modest to decent, given that it is a female-led film in the Spy Universe. Alpha carries considerable expectations because of its association with the YRF Spy Universe, which has previously delivered multiple blockbuster titles led by Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Hrithik Roshan. However, Alpha is attempting to carve its own identity by focusing on a fresh narrative and female protagonists rather than relying solely on established franchise formulas. Mumbai, June 29 - The buzz surrounding Alpha continues to grow as fresh updates about the much-awaited spy action entertainer starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari have now surfaced online. Backed by Yash Raj Films, the film is set to be a major addition to the expanding YRF Spy Universe and is already among the most anticipated Bollywood releases of the year. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) According to the latest reports, Alpha has officially been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A (16+) certificate. The certification suggests that the film will feature intense action sequences and stylised violence while remaining suitable for theatrical audiences above the specified age group. The approved theatrical runtime of the film is 2 hours and 21 minutes. Reports suggest that the final cut promises a blend of high-octane action, emotional drama, and large-scale spy thriller elements, staying true to the tone of the YRF Spy Universe. The pre-sales response is keenly being watched as it will be crucial for the movie to set the tone for a good start at the box office. The film has been subject to negativity (unrelated to the content), but the teaser and trailer have managed to turn the tables to some extent. Will Alia Bhatt, Sharvari's Alpha Manage To Overcome Trade Projections To Take A Double Digit Opening At The Indian Box Office?

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, June 23 - Ever since Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Wagh, and Bobby Deol's Alpha was announced, the film has remained one of the most talked-about upcoming Bollywood releases. Whether the conversation has been positive or negative, the film has consistently remained in the spotlight due to its cast, promotional material, and association with the Yash Raj Films Spy Universe. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) From teaser drops to trailer discussions, Alpha has managed to generate strong visibility across social media platforms. Ever since the project was announced, a section of the audience has continuously criticised the film, largely because of some of the talent involved rather than the actual content itself. With the release inching closer, the biggest question remains — can Alpha surprise the trade and take a double-digit opening at the Indian box office? The YRF Spy Universe has already established its own successful formula over the years with films like Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, and Pathaan, which became massive theatrical successes through stylish action, scale, and franchise appeal. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) But at the same time, Alpha faces its own set of challenges. It is the first female-led film in the Spy Universe and also arrives after the underwhelming performance of War 2, which has slightly impacted the momentum of the franchise. The pressure on the movie has increased further after the blockbuster success of Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar films, as audiences are now comparing every spy-action entertainer to Dhar's grounded and intense style. Alpha's current trade projections suggest an opening in the range of 7–8 crore net, but the film still has a realistic chance of surprising trade expectations if it can maintain the online chatter till its release. On the positive side, the trailer response has been fairly positive, and the promotional content has repeatedly gone viral online, keeping audience curiosity alive ahead of release. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) In today's digital era, constant online discussion often plays a huge role in keeping a film relevant, and Alpha has successfully remained part of the public conversation throughout its promotional campaign. While Alpha is not currently being seen as a double-digit starter, things can change pretty quickly as buzz is there for the film, plus, it is a part of a successful shared universe where cameos can trigger excitement, which seems to be happening for Alpha as well. For now, the buzz is undeniably there, and it will be interesting to see whether that curiosity ultimately converts into strong theatrical footfalls.
