Kenny Omega Comments On His Match Against El Hijo del Vikingo
A highly-anticipated dream match took place on the March 22 edition of AEW Dynamite, as Omega squared off against AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo.
The encounter was originally scheduled to happen in 2021 when Omega held the AAA Mega Championship, but he was forced to relinquish the title due to injuries and spent several months recovering. Vikingo finally made his way to AEW, and the two wrestlers engaged in an outstanding main event. Although Omega emerged victorious, Vikingo's high-flying moves generated plenty of excitement.
Following the match, Omega took to Twitter to introduce Vikingo to his fans and express his gratitude to AAA for the opportunity to face him. He also offered prayers for the Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson), who were assaulted prior to Dynamite's airing.
In the aftermath of Omega's match against Vikingo, he was attacked by the Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta). Hangman Page came to Omega's aid, but Don Callis feigned injury, sabotaging any chance of a reconciliation between the former tag team partners.
