In the Indian constitution article 52 says there shall be a President of India. The Electoral College elects the President of India, which includes the elected members of both the Houses of Parliament ( Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha). The president is the first citizen of India and head of the Republic of India. The President of India is head of the judiciary, legislature, and executive.
