Matt Hardy Becomes Free Agent After AEW Contract Expires
Matt Hardy is officially a free agent after his contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) expired, according to Fightful Select.
While Hardy's initial deal was reportedly set to end in March, AEW reportedly extended it for a few weeks "through WrestleMania." The reason for this extension remains unclear, especially since Hardy hasn't had any recent injury absences.
The report also states that sources close to Hardy revealed he chose not to re-sign the contract offered to him by AEW, letting the deal lapse.
This news opens the door to speculation about Hardy's future. While a return to WWE isn't confirmed, his recent attendance at a Raw episode has sparked some theories. However, it's been clarified that Hardy was simply there visiting friends with a suite at the event, and both he and his wife Reby only stayed for part of the show.
Only time will tell what's next for Matt Hardy in the world of professional wrestling.
