Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway and Zwigato Opening Day Advance Booking Status
Mumbai, March 16 - At the back of the super positive critics' reviews, Rani Mukerji's family legal drama Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway is hitting theaters this Friday. Directed by Ashima Chibber, the movie shows a mother's fight against a system for her child, based on a real-life incident.
"Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway" is expected to be released on over 1500 screens in India and its box office performance will mainly depend on the audience's word of mouth. The advance booking for the movie was opened yesterday and it has sold far sold approx. 8000 tickets worth 20 lakhs.
The slow response to advance booking was expected since it's not a frontloaded commercial film. It will target the urban audience in metro cities where it might work if received well. The movie is carrying low expectations at the box office, but the trade is hopeful that it might surprise. The opening of around 2 crores is looking very much on and it can build upon positive WOM for a healthy lifetime collection.
One more low-profile Bollywood movie releasing this Friday is Kapil Sharma-fronted Zwigato which is directed by Nandita Das. The movie explores the life of Manas (Kapil) an ex-factory floor manager. After losing his job, he is forced to work as a food delivery rider, grappling with the app on his phone and the world of ratings and incentives. He struggles to make ends meet for his wife, Pratima (Shahana Goswami), his two children, and an ailing mother.
Simultaneously, Pratima, a homemaker begins to explore different work opportunities to support his income. From being a masseuse for rich women to a cleaner at a mall. The fears of these new experiences are coupled with the joys of newfound independence.
The advance booking of "Zwigato" which opened today, is on the expected line with approx. 3000 tickets sold worth approx. 6 lakhs so far. It has got a positive response from the early screenings and the opening of around 1 crore can be expected.
