Pawan Kalyan's 'Kushi' Re-Release Breaks Box Office Records
Hyderabad, January 1 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan has proved his might at the box office again as his classic blockbuster film Kushi breaks records upon its re-release in theaters on December 31, 2022.
Directed by S. J. Suryah, "Kushi", which was originally released in 2001, got re-released on December 31st and scored a record-breaking collection at the worldwide box office on its first day. The movie records 1.65 crores gross in the Nizam area, which is the biggest ever for a re-released Telugu film.
In Telugu states, "Kushi" grossed approx. 3.60 crores (revised) on the opening day, which is again an all-time record for a re-released film, beating Pawan Kayan's "Jalsa" which grossed approx. 2.60 crores on the first day. Worldwide, "Kushi" minted approx. 4.10 crores gross (revised), again beating "Jalsa's" 3.20 crores gross for record collection.
Produced by A.M. Ratnam, "Kushi" will stay in theaters for at least one week and it is expected to score a good number of collections which will go to charity work. The opening of the "Kushi" re-release is biggest than the most of new films post the covid-19 pandemic which shows the star power of Pawan Kalyan.
The movie is the remake of Suryah's own Tamil-language film of the same name. It stars Pawan Kalyan and Bhumika Chawla in the leading roles along with Sivaji and Nassar, among others in key roles. Mani Sharma provided the score and soundtrack.
