'RRR' Is The Most-Watched Film On ZEE5

Hyderabad, June 11 - SS Rajamouli's RRR is proving to be a game-changer for the digital platform, ZEE5. The streamer got the post-theatrical digital rights of the film in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. Despite exclusively playing in theaters for 8 weeks, the movie is attracting massive viewership on OTT platforms as well.

The period action drama film was released on ZEE5 on May 20 in all four South languages. And now, it is the most-watched film on the platform with a watch time of over 1000 million minutes (17+ million hours). It has been trending at number 1 since its release on the platform.

The Hindi version of this epic blockbuster was released on Netflix on the same day May 20. It is, however, getting higher viewership than South versions on ZEE5. As of June 5, "RRR" was watched for over 39 million hours on Netflix and is the only Indian movie to remain in the number 1 positive for two consecutive weeks on the streamer.

Produced by DVV Entertainment, "RRR" stars Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Olivia Morris, among others in prominent roles. The movie is the fictional tale of two real-life Indian freedom fighters, set in 1920.
