RVD Makes His AEW Debut, Challenges Jack Perry For FTW Championship
London, 3 August 2023 - On the August 2 episode of AEW Dynamite, an exciting surprise awaited fans as Rob Van Dam, famously known as 'The Whole F'n Show,' made his arrival in All Elite Wrestling. RVD showed up to confront Jack Perry during the show.
Originally, Jack Perry was set to have a face-to-face encounter with Jerry Lynn. However, Lynn pointed out that Perry wouldn't be cleared by any doctor to compete in the ring. Fortunately, Lynn revealed that he had an old friend who still wrestles. Without much delay, Rob Van Dam made his entrance to the delight of the passionate Tampa, Florida crowd.
As RVD stepped into the ring, Perry quickly backed away, seemingly retreating from the confrontation. But when Lynn and RVD embraced in the ring, Perry attempted to sneak back in with a chair. However, he was promptly chased off once again by RVD and Lynn.
Later in the broadcast, it was officially confirmed that Jack Perry would defend his FTW Championship against Rob Van Dam on the August 9 episode of Dynamite. The highly-anticipated bout will be contested under FTW rules.
A report from Fightful Select on Wednesday, August 2, disclosed that there was a pitch for a future match between Rob Van Dam and Jack Perry, which has now become a reality in AEW.
