Royals Came Out On Top In Run Feast Contest
Rajasthan Royals won the match by 19 runs against RCB after putting a big total of 217 for 4 in 20 overs. In this tournament that has favoured chasing side so far, that was as close to a safe total as possible.
RCB had a chance to restricted RR from the big total as Royals managed only 70 runs in first 10 overs. But Sanju Samson's unbeaten 92 of 45 balls including ten sixes, really gave momentum to Rajasthan Royals innings and managed to get 147 runs in last ten overs. It was also an off day for RCB bowlers as their best bowler of this tournament so far, Umesh Yadav went for plenty. He proved to be the most expensive bowler for RCB as he concedes 59 runs in 4 overs without taking a wicket. In this run feast contest, Yuzvendra Chahal was the most economical bowler for RCB. Chahal concedes only 22 runs in 4 overs and took two big wickets of Ben Stokes and D Arcy Short.
To chase down this total, RCB needed their top order to fire, but Brendon McCullum again failed to score big as he got out in very first over of the innings to Krishnappa Gowtham. Virat Kohli and De Kock put on a 77 run partnership for the second wicket in just 44 balls. In this process, De Kock lost his concentration and got out to Shreyas Gopal at mid-on boundary line. He made 26 of 19 balls. RCB still had a chance as their two best batsmen, Virat and De Villiers were at the crease. De Villiers was lucky as Jos Buttler missed out an easy stumping but that doesn't cost them as both Virat and AB got out in quick succession. Both were caught out on the boundary line. However, Mandeep Singh and Washington Sundar tried their best to take RCB home but fell short just 19 runs to target. Mandeep scored 47 not out off just 25 balls, and Sundar made 35 off 19 balls. Shreyas Gopal was the pickup bowler for RR, conceding only 22 runs in 4 overs and took wickets of Virat Kohli and De Kock.
Sanju Samson got Man Of The Match for his sparkling knock off 92 not out.
