SS Rajamouli Reveals The 'Funny' Reason Behind The Title Of 'RRR'
Hyderabad, April 9 - SS Rajamouli's "RRR" has become a global sensation. Keeping its extraordinary box office numbers aside, the period action drama film, touted as a cinematic masterpiece, is being compared with Marvel movies that have always provided larger-than-life cinema experiences to global audiences.
The title of "RRR" is itself an interesting one and catching a lot of attention. While the title of "RRR", is officially read as "Rise Roar Revolt", it wasn't the originally planned description of it. Rajamouli, during a recent interview with Deadline, revealed a funny story behind titling the movie "RRR".
"It's funny because when we announced the title it was just the first letters of our names (Rajamouli, Ram Charan, Rama Rao) as a working title", the filmmaker told, adding "but the audience and the fans loved it so much that in their minds they fixed RRR as the title. They started making designs of the RRR and I asked the distributor and they said it's very easy on the tongue, let's go ahead and do it".
Frankly speaking, "RRR" is one of the most likable Indian movie titles in recent times. It sounds nice to call it, "Aar Aar Aar" or "Triple Aar". More importantly, the "RRR" trio is ruling the box office and bringing smiles back to the Indian film industry. It is nearing a gigantic 1000 crores worldwide gross, which will make it only the third Indian movie to this landmark box office figure.
