SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' Gears Up For Re-release In USA Theaters In June
Los Angeles, May 14 - SS Rajamouli's three-hour-long epic blockbuster, "RRR", is gearing up to re-release in the USA theaters in June. The period action drama, starring Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan, has already grossed over $14 million in its initial run at the USA box office.
Presented by Variance Films and Potentate Films with Sarigama Cinemas, "RRR" will be re-released in 100+ theaters in the USA on June 1. The movie has generated some of the strongest word-of-mouth buzz for a global movie in recent times.
"America has embraced 'RRR' as its own and crossing borders, the love that the American audience has shown our film has been gratifying", writer-director Rajamouli said in a statement. "Excited that they get to relive the experience at the re-release, thanks to Variance and Potentate".
Produced by DVV Entertainment, "RRR" has grossed over 1100 crores worldwide so far with the movie still playing in limited capacity domestically. It is currently the 4th highest-grossing Indian movie of all time at the worldwide box office.
Set in the 1920s, "RRR" is a fictional story about two Indian real-life revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Rama Rao), and their fight against the British Raj. The movie also stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in the extended cameos.
