Salman Khan-Fronted Blockbuster 'Ek Tha Tiger' Final Worldwide Box Office Collection
Mumbai, August 15 - 12 years ago on this day, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and director Kabir Khan teamed up for the first time for spy action thriller Ek Tha Tiger which kicked by Yash Raj Films' blockbuster Spy Universe.
Ek Tha Tiger received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike upon its release which led to phenomenal box office success. During its box office run, it broke numerous records and was one of the biggest Indian grossers at that time.
The movie took an opening of approximately 33 crores net and went on to score 154 crores net (200+ crores gross) in the first week, which was the biggest first week at that time for an Indian movie. After the historic first week, the collection dropped in the following weeks and it finished just below the 200 crores net mark.
ETT finished its domestic run at approximately 198.75 crores net (263 crores gross) while its overseas collection was 57 crores for a worldwide cume of 320 crores. It was the highest-grossing Indian movie of 2012 and the second-highest overall at that time behind 3 Idiots.
