TNA Wrestling Reportedly Has A Big Goal To Move To Live Television
TNA Wrestling is reportedly setting their sights on a major shift, aiming to move their television program to a live format, per the latest on Wrestling Observer Radio. Their initial plan involved filming every week from a central location, with Full Sail University in Orlando emerging as the frontrunner, similar to WWE's NXT setup.
While personnel changes occurred within the company, the interest in live production persisted, with other executives like Leonard Asper expressing their support.
While challenges like ticket sales in the shadow of WWE's free NXT show exist, Full Sail's TV-friendly environment and potential student involvement in production offer significant advantages.
Originally, the plan involved test tapings in May or June, followed by a transition to live shows by late 2024 or early 2025. However, with leadership changes, the current status of this timeline is unclear.
It's worth noting that Scott D'Amore, a former key figure in this initiative, envisioned introducing live shows this year and transitioning to weekly broadcasts entirely by 2025. Only time will tell if TNA Wrestling will achieve this ambitious goal.
