Titanic Re-release Off To Strong Start At The North American Box Office
Los Angeles, February 11 - James Cameron's classic blockbuster "Titanic" returns to the theaters to commemorate its 25th anniversary.
Released by Paramount in 2,464 locations, "Titanic" re-release grossed a strong $6.70 million opening weekend, including Thursday previews at the domestic (North America) box office.
The weekend total pushed "Titanic's" domestic gross to $666.10 million. The opening weekend of the film's re-release was better than the "Avengers: Endgame" and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" re-releases, which grossed $6.10 million and $5.40 million, respectively.
Overseas, the "Titanic" re-release grossed a super strong $15.90 million on the opening weekend. It is currently the all-time 3rd highest-grossing film at the global box office with $2.21 billion. Cameron's latest blockbuster "Avatar: The Way of Water" has just crossed $2.20 million and is the 4th biggest movie.
Meanwhile, the re-release of "Titanic" has had a low start in India, grossing just approx. 1.50 crores on the weekend.
