Update On Why Nikkita Lyons Pulled From Her Match On WWE SmackDown 8/19/22
There were some changes to the Women's Tag Team Title tournament match on Friday’s episode of SmackDown.
As previously, the August 19th edition of SmackDown was supposed to feature Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark Vs. Natalya & Sonya Deville in the tournament. However, just before the show kicked off, WWE announced that Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark won't be competing on the card, thus placing them would be NXT Women's Tag Team Champions Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne).
Toxic Attraction advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Natalya and Sonya Deville.
Stark is believed to be a concussion after suffering an injury during her match against NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose on Tuesday at NXT Heatwave.
According to Dave Meltzer, Lyons was pulled from the show as she wasn’t allowed to travel to Canada because she hasn’t been vaccinated for COVID-19.
Meltzer wrote, “Lyons wouldn't have been allowed to go as they didn't realize she wasn't vaccinated and thus couldn't get into Canada.”
