Box Office: Doctor Strange 2 First Sunday Early Estimates (India)

Mumbai, May 8 - Marvel Studios' "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of the Madness" records a fantastic opening weekend at the Indian box office.

Directed by Sam Raimi, the latest superhero movie scored approx. 80 crores net, including an estimated 25 crores on Sunday. The gross total crossed the 100 crores ($13 million) mark in the opening weekend itself.

The original Engish version of the movie has been the best performing with approx. 71 crores gross followed by Hindi with 24 crores. The other languages have contributed approx. 5 crores.

Interestingly, Marvel/Sony's recent global blockbuster "Spider-Man: No Way Home" had also scored very much similar collections in the first 3 days in India from Thursday. The movie also had a bigger release than "Doctor Strange 2".
