Box Office: Marathi Movie 'Dharmaveer' Off To Flying Start
Mumbai, May 14 - The Marathi cinema is continuing to flourish amid the struggle of Bollywood at the box office. The last few months have been great for this Indian regional film industry as far as box office is concerned.
The latest Marathi film, "Dharmaveer", has taken a flying start at the box office and scored Rs 2.05 crores net on the first day. It is the biggest opening for a Marathi in 2022.
"Dharmaveer" was released on approx. 400 screens in Maharashtra state. Due to the strong response at the ticket window, more screens and shows are being added which will further strengthen its position at the box office.
It is the biopic of late Anand Dighe aka Dharmaveer (played by Prasad Oak), a larger-than-life messiah for thousands. He was considered a powerful muscleman in Thane and would hold a daily Durbar at his Tembhi Naka residence to hear out/resolve issues faced by Thane citizens along with Shiv Sena party workers.
