Mohanlal's Aaraattu Gets A New Theatrical Release Date

Kochi, June 16, 2021: Mohanlal's upcoming action drama, Aaraattu, is arguably one of the most awaited Malayalam films. Directed by B. Unnikrishnan, the filming was concluded in March 2021 and the movie was all set to release on 12 August 2021 on the occasion of Onam.

As Aaraattu was gearing up for a grand theatrical release, the makers decided to postponed Aaraattu's release owing to the second wave of the pandemic that has affected the country. According to the latest reports, the movie will now hit the theatres as a Pooja special release, on October 14, 2021.

Theaters in Kerala are currently shut and it will take few weeks to re-open. Some of the Malayalam films have opted for an OTT release, due to the same. However, the makers of Aaraattu have confirmed that the film is only releasing in theatres.

Aaraattu is said to be one of the most expensive and exciting projects of Mohanlal's career. B Unnikrishnan had previously said that Aaraattu is his tribute to Mohanlal - the star and actor.

Produced by Sajeesh Manjery, and RD Illuminations, the movie also stars Shraddha Srinath as the female lead along with Garuda Ram, Ravikumar, Nedumudi Venu, Seema, Saikumar, among others in supporting roles.
