SS Rajamouli's RRR Creates Pre-Sales Records In The USA

Mumbai, March 9 - SS Rajamouli's magnum opus, "RRR", which is poised to take a solid opening at the box office, is getting an extraordinary response in the advance booking in the USA.

The Pan-India movie, starring Ram Charan, and Jr. NTR in the lead along with Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in important roles, has crossed the $1 million mark in the USA as per the trade sources. The USA premieres will take place on March 24.

"RRR" has also become the first Indian movie to cross $500K premieres from pre-sales in the Cinemark theater chain. The movie is expected to take the opening of $2 million - $3 million on the first day in the USA.

The mega-budgeted movie is produced by DVV Danayya under the banner of DVV Entertainments and has music by MM Keeravani, which is winning praises. "RRR" is a fictional tale based on the lives of two freedom fighters in the early 20th century - Alluri Sitarama Raju (played by Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (played by Jr NTR). It also stars Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson, Olivia Morris, and Shriya Saran in supporting roles.

It is Rajamouli's first film since "Baahubali - The Conclusion" in 2017. The Prabhas-starred went on to become the second highest-grossing Indian movie at the worldwide box office, and the expectations are very much similar from "RRR". It will release in India on March 25 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
