Shahid Kapoor Wraps Up The Filming of Jersey Amid Covid-19, Pens A Heartfelt Note
Amid the covid-19 pandemic, Shahid Kapoor and the team have wrapped the filming of their next, Jersey after the 47 days of the shoot during Covid. Shahid calls it unbelievable to shoot amid these trying times.
The actor took to Twitter and thanked each and everyone from the unit who took a risk to complete the task. "It’s a film wrap on #jersey.... 47 days of the shoot during covid. Just unbelievable. I am so proud of the entire team. It’s nothing short of a miracle. I want to thank each & everyone from the unit for coming to set every day, putting themselves at risk & doing what we all love", Shahid wrote.
"Telling stories that touch hearts and make a difference. #Jersey is a story that speaks of a Phoenix rising from the ashes. The triumph of an indomitable spirit. If there was ever a time I could connect with the underlying spirit of a film this was it", he added.
Calling Jersey his filmmaking experience ever, the actor said, "As we all fight through this pandemic. Let’s always remember. This shall pass too. Here’s to my best filmmaking experience yet. Talking about the film, it is a sports drama film directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. It is a remake of 2019's Telugu movie under the same title, starred by Nani in the lead role and directed by Gowtam.
Presented by Allu Aravind and produced by Aman Gill, and Dil Raju, the Hindi remake of Jersey also stars Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Kapur, and Sharad Kelkar in the key roles. Shahid Kapoor will be playing a cricketer portrayed by Nani in the original version.
