The show will run for two hours, so it will end at 10 PM ET. ## AEW Collision September 9, 2023: Play-By-Play Results AEW International Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Action Andretti ## AEW Collision opens up with Jon Moxley taking on Action Andretti. The match starts off with Moxley taking up the action. Meanwhile, Action gets out of the ring, preventing to cause any damage. He is back in the ring. Moxley with a boot that sends Action out of the ring. ## Action comes back stronger and he clinches a Suicide dive. Moxley sends Action into the ring. Action goes for a Dropkick and follows up a splash on Moxley for the cover, but doesn't get the win. Moxley looks hurt and he makes his way out of the ring, meanwhile, Action hits a moonsault. Action sends Moxley into the steel steps. ## Back from the break, Action performs a Suicide Dive, but this time Moxley sides out and hits his own Suicide Dive on Action. Action is sent back into the ring. Action with a springboard strike, but nothing effects and Moxley hits a cutter for the cover, but no win there. Dropkick landed by Andretti and follows up a Falcon Arrow for a near fall. At the end of the match, Action sets up a Spinning Crossbody and he gets it for the cover, but Moxley kicks out. Meanwhile, Moxley locks in the rear naked choke for the win. ## WINNER: Jon Moxley ## Following the match, Charlette attacks Statlander, and The Renegade now attacking Statlander. The music hits and it's Jade Cargill who comes out and attacks the Renegade sisters. ## Dio Del Inframundo, Aerostar, Metalik, and Gravity vs. Bullet Club Gold ## The match kicks off with Austin and Metalik. Austin goes for an early attack and there is an exchange in the tag. Colten with a clothesline on Metalik, this was a pretty good spot sofar. Juice is now in and she starts attacking Metalik. There is a quick exchange in the tag. ## Aerostar with a Dropkick to take out Juice before landing a cutter on Austin. Finally, Juice with his move for the cover to win the match. ## WINNER: Bullet Club Gold ## Singles Match: Rey Fenix vs. Angelico ## The match starts off with Fenix landing a dropkick on Angelico and he goes out. Fenix follows up with a Suicide Dive. Rey gets Angelico back to the ring Angelico with a Backbreaker, meanwhile, Angelico goes for a splash, but he misses. Fenix goes up to the top and performs a Splash for the cover, but doesn't get the win. ## Superkick landed as Fenix does it. Fenix takes Sepentico off the apron. Fenix lands a cutter on Angelico for the cover, but yet again he kicks out. Finally, Fenix with his move for the cover to win the match. ## WINNER: Rey Fenix ## Grand Slam Tournament Semifinals: Roderick Strong vs. Darby Allin ## A brawl breaks out before the match even starts. The match starts off with Strong attacking him. Strong with a Backbreaker. Strong is sent outside and Dabry follows up a Suicide Dive. Back from the commercial break and it's Darby taking up the fight, he sends Strong into the post. ## Darby goes for a guillotine and follows up with a Crucifix for the cover, but doesn't get the win. Strong with an STF submission hold, but Darby is able to reach the ropes. Darby is set up on the top rope. Strong comes off with a Backbreaker. ## Darby is on the apron and he lands a hard Stunner there. Darby with another move as he hits Coffin Drop on Strong. Darby with a reverse DDT. Fox accidentally hits a moonsault on Wayne. Darby tries a coffin drop but Strong gets things and hits a backbreaker for the win. ## WINNER: Roderick Strong ## -Up next is an in-ring promo from Bryan Danielson. Tony is already in the ring and he brings out Danielson. He takes the mic and says her daughter is six, and she one day told her daughter that he would be retiring once she turns seven. ## Danielson doesn't waste his time and looks like he wants a match at WrestleDream and he wants to fight Zack Sabre Jr. The music hits as Ricky Starks comes out there with Bill. ## Ricky Starks comes out with Bill. He mentions Bryan's time in catering compared to his own place in Collision, highlighting how he made a statement by targeting Steamboat. This, he believes, solidified his position as Collision's leader after Sunday's match. He admits to growing greed after refusing to submit, driven by his nature. ## Bryan acknowledges their Sunday encounter and approves of Stark. Suddenly, Big Bill attacks Bryan, and Starks joins in briefly before they both exit, leaving Bryan and Moxley in their wake. ## Grand Slam Eliminator Tournament Semifinal: Samoa Joe vs. Penta El Zero Miedo ## The main event of the night will go down up next, the match starts off with Joe knocking down Penta. Superkick landed from Penta, Joe plants Penta into the corner, while Penta responds with a Dropkick, Joe looks hurt and he rolls out of the ring. Penta continues his dominance with a Slingblad, Joe is sent into the barricade. There is a table, Penta brings it out from down. Meanwhile, we are set for a commercial break... Penta misses a stomp, and Joe takes the advantage and hits him with an elbow. Joe eats a Crossbody followed by a Backstabber, cover made, but Joe kicks out. Joe takes the lead, and he responds with a PowerSlam for a near fall. Another failed cover from Penta, this time Joe with an Atomic Drop, and follows up with a Senton for a near fall. ## Looks like, the table is getting involved now, Penta sets up a Dive, but Joe sides away and Penta hits the table. Chicago, 8 September - AEW has fired Ace Steel for the second time. ## Ace Steel's termination marks the second release this week, following CM Punk's departure from AEW on September 2nd. While AEW didn't officially confirm Ace Steel's release, PWInsider reported his departure from WWE. ## CM Punk's release from AEW on September 2nd was accompanied by an official statement from the organization. This decision came after an altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry backstage, stemming from comments made by Perry during his earlier match on the show. Perry's comments were in reference to Punk denying him the use of real glass in his segments on Collision. ## AEW made the announcement of CM Punk's release on X (formerly Twitter), and Tony Khan also addressed it at the beginning of that night's Collision episode. In contrast, Ace Steel's release from WWE lacked an official reason. ## There are potential reasons behind Ace Steel's release, though they are speculative. Steel was involved in the All Out Brawl, featuring CM Punk and The Elite. During the brawl, Steel was reportedly guilty of biting Kenny Omega's arm, which led to his suspension along with Punk, Omega, and The Young Bucks. ## Subsequently, Steel, CM Punk, and The Elite returned to the company. Viewership numbers have been put on open for Saturday night's edition of AEW Collision and that looks disappointing. According to Brandon Thrustan, AEW Collision on Saturday started with 472K viewers and a 0.18 P18-49 rating, for Tony Khan announcing CM Punk was fired and the Steamboat, Starks, Danielson angle. ## The report suggests that viewership took a sharp drop in most quarters afterward. The final full quarter-hour achieved 244k viewers and a 0.08 rating. According to the data, this episode recorded the lowest audience in its history. ## A viewership of 345,000 represents a significant decline from the 552,000 viewers the show had on August 26. Additionally, the show managed to attain a 0.11 rating in the 18 to 49 age group, which is also a substantial decrease from the 0.16 rating it received last Saturday. ## There are several factors contributing to the drop in viewership. The episode had to compete with various college football games on both network TV and cable. Indianapolis, 6 September - The upcoming Wednesday's episode of Dynamite has a new bout added to its lineup. ## The show will be live on September 6, 2023, from the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, Indiana. Fox rallied with a DDT and a moonsault, but Moxley countered with a kimura, anvil elbows, the King Kong lariat, and the Death Rider to retain his title. # Allin checked on Fox post-match. Cage and Luchasaurus offered Wayne mentorship after watching his father's matches last week, with Cage sending regards to Wayne's mother before leaving. ## WINNER: Jon Moxley (with Claudio Castagnoli) ## Kris Statlander vs Emi Sakura for the TBS Title ## Sakura started strong with a Tiger Driver and a running crossbody that sent Statlander out of the ring. Sakura followed up with a charging crossbody into the ring steps. Back inside, they exchanged chops and lariats, leading to a collision. Statlander enticed Sakura to the apron and hit a slingshot elbow. They countered each other's moves, and Statlander won with Wednesday Night Fever. ## WINNER: Kris Statlander ## Le Sex Gods (Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara) vs Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) ## In the match, Davis and Jericho exchanged blows. Guevara tagged in for a double shoulder tackle and Le Sex Gods pose but got hit with Snake Eyes. After a chop exchange and a leapfrog combo, Jericho and Guevara executed a stalling vertical suplex before a break. ## During the break, Davis and Fletcher controlled Guevara. Jericho made a hot tag, taking charge. Jericho survived a Code Breaker to Fletcher. Guevara's twisting tornillo took out Davis and Fletcher. Samoa Joe interrupted and confronted MJF. Joe wanted to know MJF's problem, and MJF attempted to mock Joe's entrance music. He insulted Joe with various nicknames and recounted an altercation with William Regal during a WWE tryout when he was 19. MJF warned Joe to stay out of his way and threatened him. ## MJF claimed to be the best but Joe called him a little bitch. MJF slapped Joe, who chose not to retaliate. Joe confidently stated he would win the title eliminator tournament. ## As MJF tried to leave, Joe crotched him in the ropes. MJF fought back but was eventually flattened by Joe. Adam Cole saved MJF, and medical personnel attended to him. Joe warned MJF that next time, he'd rip MJF's arm off. Roderick Strong and The Kingdom criticized Adam Cole for prioritizing MJF over Strong's injury due to Joe. Cole left with MJF, and Strong prepared for his match. ## Roderick Strong (w/Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) Vs Trent Beretta (w/Chuck Taylor) in a Grand Slam World Title Eliminator Quarterfinal ## Strong initially dominated. Beretta fought back with a leaping Meteora and a chop exchange. Strong used his signature backbreaker. Beretta responded with a corner elbow and a Tornado DDT, sending Strong outside while clutching his neck. Taven briefly interfered, allowing Strong to surprise Beretta with a post and apron suplex before a commercial break. ## Beretta countered with rolling Germans and a twisting Death Valley Driver, but Strong retaliated with a Death by Roderick and a Sick Kick. Beretta countered Strong's Strong Hold attempt with a frankensteiner and executed a half and half suplex. However, Strong reached the ropes during a piledriver attempt. Chicago, 3 September - Here is the full recap for Kenny Omega vs. Konosuke Takeshita which takes place on September 3, 2023, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois in a Singles match. ## The show will be live at 8 PM Eastern Time in the US on Sunday. It starts airing in Asia at 5:30 AM. In the UK and Australia, it's on at 12 AM and 9 PM, respectively. ## AEW All Out 2023: Kenny Omega vs. Konosuke Takeshita Full Match Omega wore DDT-inspired gear for this match. Takeshita seemed to have the upper hand in the early stages, dropping Omega on his neck with a high-angle backdrop driver that sent Omega rolling out of the ring. Takeshita followed up with a running boot, but Omega countered with a move called "You Can't Escape" on the floor. ## Back inside the ring, Omega punted Takeshita and then executed his dunk slam, locking in the Indian Deathlock. They exchanged slaps, but Takeshita resorted to an eye poke. Takeshita managed to hit his Takeshita-line move, but when he tried for a hurricanrana, Omega blocked it and sent Takeshita face-first into the turnbuckle. They ended up back on the floor, and this time, Takeshita hit a brainbuster and brought out some chairs, but the referee scolded him.## With the referee distracted, Don Callis stacked the chairs on top of Omega. Takeshita capitalized by hitting a senton over the top onto the chairs. Takeshita taunted Omega and then landed a Helluva Kick and a Blue Thunder Bomb for a two-count. ## Takeshita continued to target Omega until Omega got his knees up when Takeshita attempted a top-rope senton. Omega then hit a jumping knee, followed by two Snap Dragons, a knee strike, and a Poison Rana for a near fall. They both escaped each other's attempts at German suplexes and traded pumping knee strikes. Takeshita turned the tide with a powerful lariat that turned Omega inside out. Omega managed to float out of a powerbomb and countered with one of his own, followed by a knee strike. ## Omega connected with a V-Trigger, but Takeshita countered Omega's One Winged Angel into a move called a "Crunchie." Omega was struggling to use his legs and started swinging wildly. He connected with enough strikes to briefly regain control, but Takeshita fought back with forearms, and Omega resorted to a desperation lariat. ## In the corner, Omega landed a leaping V-Trigger and attempted an Avalanche One Winged Angel, but Takeshita escaped and hit an impressive Avalanche Blue Thunder Bomb for a very close near fall. Takeshita then executed his Power Drive Knee move, but Omega somehow kicked out, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
