Los Angeles, December 10 - Marvel Studios is re-assembling its OG superheroes for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday after seemingly closing that chapter in the last Avengers film - Avengers: Endgame, back in 2019. ## After officially confirming Robert Downey Jr.'s big Marvel comeback, this time as a villain, to play Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027), Hollywood media has reported that Chris Evans who played Captain America, is also returning to the MCU. ## According to the report by Deadline, the role of Evans isn't entirely clear at this point but he in the Captain America costume seems less likely. However, the report states it wouldn't be a shock if he reprises that iconic role as Steve Rogers though Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson character will also return as Captain America. ## It is not that Evans hasn't featured in the MCU title after Endgame, the actor recently had a cameo in the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all-time, the MCU's Deadpool & Wolverine, as his character from the Fox/Marvel early aughts days, which are also pre-Captain America: Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four movies.## Deadline has also reported that apart from Downey Jr., and Evans, many other Marvel OG superheroes are expected to return for Doomsday. Benedict Cumberbatch has already confirmed his appearance as Doctor Strange in this highly anticipated blockbuster while it is also being speculated that Tom Holland would feature in the film. ## The shoot of Doomsday will kick off next year as the movie is scheduled to hit the big screen on May 1st, 2026. Mumbai, December 9 - Pushpa Raj annihilates the Hindi box office with an unimaginable collection. The movie had heavily frontloaded record opening weekend and was anticipated to see some drop on Monday, however, that isn't the case as the movie has a much better than expected hold with a record non-holiday Monday collection. ## Pushpa 2 - The Rule is witnessing a drop under 50% from the monstrous Sunday collection and just around 20% drop from the huge Friday which is truly remarkable as early estimates suggest a 45-47 crores net collection on its first Monday/fifth day, depending on how strong offline shows are.## Irrespective of where the final collection lands, 45 crores net seems to be locked for the first Monday which takes its total Hindi collection to around 330 crores net in just 5 days, making it the fastest to reach 300 crores net collection. The full first week is heading towards a record 400 crores net (+/-).## Apart from the out-of-the-park collection in Hindi, Pushpa 2 has a decent hold in Telugu states as estimates suggest 13-14 crores gross, followed by 4-5 crores gross in Karnataka and 4-5 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Overall, Pushpa is estimated to gross 75-80 crores on its first Monday which is a fantastic hold. ## The total domestic collection of the film is around 700 crores gross after 5 days and the full week is heading towards 800+ crores gross. Mumbai, December 9 - The much-awaited trailer of actor Varun Dhawan's action drama Baby John which is directed by Tamil director Kalees and produced by Atlee Kumar, was launched on Monday, December 9 at Dr D Y Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri-Chinchwad, near Pune in the presence of thousands of excited students. ## The trailer is packed with non-stop massy moments and it promises to showcase Varun Dhawan in a never-before-seen avatar. This is the first action movie of Varun and the actor is all charged up for the same. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is playing a blockbuster cameo and his glimpse was shown in the trailer. ## Baby John is one of the most anticipated Bollywood movies and Atlee has hyped it by calling the film Varun Dhawan's Animal moment. Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor was a massive box-office blockbuster last year and Atlee believes that Baby John will prove to be the same kind of success for Varun. ## "With Varun Dhawan, we are creating one more superstar. Chennai, December 9 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has had a fantastic second weekend which was bigger than the first weekend at the China box office as it sets sight on the 100 crores lifetime finish there. ## The film grossed approximately 23.40 crores gross collection ($2.76 million) in the second weekend, a jump of over 20% from the first Friday to Sunday weekend collection of 21.10 crores gross. This shows that word of mouth is super positive and the legs have solidified at the Mainland box office. ## The total collection of Maharaja has approximately 64.25 crores gross ($7.58 million) after the second weekend in China and this makes it the 11th highest-grossing Indian movie there, beating Padman and Thugs Of Hindostan which minted around 60 crores gross each. ## Maharaja will next look to down SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 (80.50 crores gross) in the third weekend to enter the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films in China. Mumbai, December 9 - Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule has created history at the Hindi box office as it has become the first film of all time to score 100 crores gross in a single day after achieving this feat on its first Sunday (4th day).## Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 minted approximately 100+ crores gross (85 crores net) on Sunday which pushed its total Hindi collection to 285+ crores net after the 4-day extended opening weekend. This also marks the record opening weekend in Hindi, beating Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan which minted approximately 252 crores net. ## Pushpa 2 has also clocked a record single-day collection in Maharashtra with 20+ crores net collection and in Gujarat with 13+ crores net collection on its first Monday. Mumbai, December 9 - The fourth instalment of producer Sajid Nadiadwala's blockbuster action thriller franchise Baaghi has begun with Tiger Shroff returning to reprise his role as Ronnie. The movie is directed by Kannada director A Harsha who has helmed some noteworthy Kannada titles. ## On Monday (December 9), the makers announced actor Sanjay Dutt on board to play the antagonist role in Baaghi 4 with the first look poster. The poster shows Dutt sitting on a chair with seemingly his head girlfriend or wife on his lap as the tagline reads - "Every Aashiq is a villain". ## By the look of the posters so far, it can be assumed that Baaghi 4 will be a high-octane action thriller about revenge and drama. The film's shoot has already commenced and will be released on September 5, 2025, worldwide. Mumbai, December 8 - This might be the biggest moment for the Hindi box office as Pushpa 2 - The Rule is threatening to pull off an imaginable record which might be a reality by tomorrow morning when the actual collection arrives. ## After scoring 70+ crores net day twice in the first three days, Pushpa 2 goes a step ahead to touch 80 crores net mark which is the first time in the history of Hindi cinema. According to early estimates, Pushpa 2 is expected to score in the range of 83-85 crores net on its first Sunday/fourth day, pushing the total Hindi collection to 280+ crores net in 4 days. ## If estimates hold, which is the high end, it will be a history that Hindi box office touches 100 crores gross mark for the first time in a single day. However, as said, the estimates are on the high end and it needs to be seen how strong offline shows have performed on the day which will be known by tomorrow morning.## Pushpa 2 has also shown a good jump in Telugu states as estimates suggest 37-38 crores gross, followed by 13-14 crores gross in Karnataka, and around 15 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Mumbai, December 8 - Allu Arjun's mega-blockbuster Pushpa 2 - The Rule has beaten Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD to score the biggest opening weekend for an Indian title of 2024 at the overseas box office while also claiming the biggest weekend ever for an Indian film globally. ## Pushpa 2 is estimated to score $19+ million (161+ crores gross) in its 4-day weekend, beating Kalki's $17.75 million (150+ crores gross) and it will most likely finish the year as the number 1 weekend grosser of the year which will be the first time in Allu Arjun's career.## Directed by Sukumar, the blockbuster has stormed the North American box office and scored an estimated $9.50 million during its extended opening weekend, including Wednesday previews. Mumbai, December 8 - Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor's A-rated action drama Animal with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has been one of the biggest Indian blockbusters. While the film was critically lauded, it drew sharp criticism from some people in the industry for the way characters were presented in a story that proved not to be a cup of tea for them. ## Meanwhile, a sequel titled Animal Park was confirmed by the makers and director Sandeep Vanga promised it would be more darker and brutal than the first part. However, the wait for the second part is going to be longer than expected, going by Ranbir Kapoor's words. ## The actor is currently in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to attend the Red Sea International Film Festival and during his conversation with Deadline, Ranbir confirmed that Animal Park should start filming in 2027, which is about more than 2 years from now on. ## Ranbir also hinted at the third part of Animal as he said that director Vanga wants to make the film in three parts and the duo have been sharing ideas on how to take the story forward which can turn it into a 3-part franchise.
