Mumbai, May 20 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's social comedy drama OMG (Oh My God) has established itself as one of India's most successful film franchises. The series has two films so far, which emerged as big hits at the box office while delivering important messages. ## According to the latest report by Pinkvilla, Akshay Kumar and director Amit Rai have already started working on OMG 3. It is said that Rai had accompanied Akshay Kumar to Kerala for the last leg of Bhooth Bagla to discuss the third instalment of OMG. ## As per the report, Amit Rai has multiple ideas for the upcoming film, and he discussed all the plot points with Akshay Kumar throughout the stay. "The duo brainstormed on all the ideas and also discussed possible new routes that could be taken in OMG 3. Mumbai, November 16 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor was roped in to headline Pooja Entertainment's mega-budgeted epic Ashwatthama: The Saga Continues. Kannada director Sachin B. Ravi of Avane Srimannarayana fame was on board to direct the film. ## Since the announcement, the film, however, has faced delays and challenges and now, according to the report by Mid-Day, the project has been put on hold indefinitely due to budgetary constraints. It is said that the movie was planned to be made for 500 crores but it was escalating as pre-production advanced. ## The report quoted an insider saying that the project's scale was enormous and was supposed to be shot across multiple countries. However, after they started working on it, the makers felt it was a massive challenge to make it within the planned budget.## Pooja Entertainment, on the other hand, has reportedly been in a financial crisis with back-to-back major box office flops and considering all these things, the team led to a decision to pause production until these issues could be resolved.## Shahid Kapoor, on the other hand, has reportedly moved on from this ambitious project and has started preparation for Vishal Bhardwaj's action thriller film. Mumbai, February 4 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor is gearing up for the release of romantic-comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah. Billed as an impossible love story, the movie has Kriti Sanon as the female lead and it is scheduled to release on February 9. ## After TBMAUJ, Shahid Kapoor will be seen in Malayalam director Rosshan Andrrews' cop action thriller Deva. Produced by Roy Kapur Films in association with Zee Studios, Deva is said to be the official remake of the Malayalam movie Mumbai Police. Shahid plays a police officer while Pooja Hegde is the female lead. It will be hitting theatres on October 11 this year. ## Besides the confirmed TBMAUJ and Deva, the Kabir Singh star has reportedly locked two more films. It is said that Shahid will be headlining Pooja Entertainment's epic film based on Mahabharata. The actor will be playing the role of great warrior Ashwatthama who was the son of Guru Dronacharya and had received the boon of immortality from Lord Shiva himself. ## The yet-to-be-announced film will reportedly be directed by Kannada filmmaker Sachin Ravi, known for directing Rakshit Shetty's action adventure, Avane Srimannarayana (2019). Mumbai, October 26 - When things were going bad to worst, it was a sequel to a superhit movie that brought Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who used to be a box office guarantee a couple of years back, back in the game in the form of social comedy-drama OMG 2. ## Though Akshay Kumar only played an extended role the movie sold on his name and the brand value of the "OMG" franchise. "OMG 2" was released during the Independence Day weekend of 2023 and was up against a tsunami-like "Gadar 2", still, it managed a take a decent opening before word of mouth spread its magic. ## Directed by Amit Rai, the sequel minted over 72 crores net during its extended 5-day Independence Day weekend after taking the opening of over 10 crores. The movie scored the opening week collection of 85 crores net and from there on, it performed consistently well to take the final collection past 150 crores net and became only the 6th film of the year to do so. ## Overseas, "OMG 2" performed reasonably well and grossed approximately 43 crores, for over 221 crores worldwide collection. Box Office: Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2' Nears 150 Crores Net Domestically

Mumbai, September 8 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's A-rated social comedy drama film OMG 2 has emerged as big box office hit at the domestic as well as overseas. Directed by Amit Rai, the movie has already crossed the 200 crores gross mark at the global box office, and now, it is heading to 150 crores domestic net collection.## OMG 2 had a good 4th week despite the heavy competition as it scored approximately 7.40 crores net, dropping just around 52% from the third week which is very good hold. This takes the total collection to around 149.25 crores net in 28 days and it could add another 1-2 crores more to take its total past 150 crores mark.## The film dropped heavily on the last day (4th Thursday) of the 4th week due to the arrival of Shah Rukh Khan-fronted "Jawan" which took most the screens away of the movie, plus the holdovers are also performing really well. Nonetheless, OMG 2 has done its job despite releasing with the age restriction by the censor board.## OMG 2 also has a good outing at the overseas box office with gross collection approximately 43 crores, which helped the worldwide cume of the movie to reach over 219 crores gross. Mumbai, August 29 - Sunny Deol-fronted period action drama film Gadar 2: The Katha Continues continuing its heroic run and crossed 600 crores mark at the worldwide box office on its 18th day. It has become the second Indian movie of the year to achieve this milestone.## Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 has so far scored approximately 544 crores gross collection in India (460.65 crores net) while its overseas collection is excellent 61 crores through 3rd Monday (18 days). The worldwide box office collection of the movie has reached 104.60 crores to-date.## Gadar 2 has become the 12th Indian movie and 7th outright Bollywood movie of all-time to top 600 crores worldwide gross. Post the covid-19 pandemic, it the 4th Indian movie and 2nd Bollywood film to reach this box office figure. ## Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar's social comedy drama OMG 2 also having a very good run despite competition and not-so mass friendly film. Mumbai, August 25 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's social comedy-drama film "OMG 2", which features Pankaj Tripathi in the central role along with Yami Gautam, is having a very good run at the box office. It has hit 176 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office in two weeks and emerged as a big success.## "OMG 2", which is based on sex education in India, was heavily censored as reports suggest that CBFC asked for as many as 27 cuts in the film to avoid any controversy. It was still censored with an "A" certificate (adults only) despite these many cuts but the good thing is that these things didn't affect much as far as the box office is concerned though it kept a section of the audience away from theaters.## While the movie was released in cinemas with a censored version, director Amit Rai has confirmed that the post-theatrical OTT release of the movie will have a complete director's version.
