Box Office: Vikram Vedha Second Sunday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 9 - Vikram Vedha has had a similar day at the domestic box office as compared to yesterday for an estimated 4 crores net collection. The film saw a big jump of over 50% on the 2nd Saturday but failed to take the momentum on the second Sunday.## The second Sunday collections will take the entire box office collections of Vikram Vedha to around the 69 crores net box office mark. This weekend's collections have boosted the lifetime collections of the film as at one point in time the film was looking to end around 80cr lifetime but now it's looking like a 90cr finish with even a slight chance of 100cr.## Vikram Vedha will be either below average or a flop film but that is due to the start the film had gotten. Adipurush Makers Adopt Right Approach To Make People Change Their Minds

Mumbai, October 9 - A lot has happened over the past week regarding director Om Raut's magnum opus film Adipurush. The teaser of this Prabhas-fronted film was launched on October 3 amid huge anticipation, however, after its release, the teaser has become the center of controversy and criticism on various fronts. ## Based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, "Adipurush" is a VFX-heavy film that has become a huge topic of discussion. Immediately after the teaser launch, it received heavy criticism for poor VFX shots which were called cartoonish. However, the first reaction from director Om Raut to the criticism was that he didn't make the movie for mobile and that it will look larger-than-life on the big screen. ## Since "Adipurush" has been made on a huge budget, it was important for the makers to shut down the criticism and win public trust again for the movie that is touted to be the most prestigious film in the country. While doing so, makers approached a way that changed the perception of the audience towards it.## Om Raut has been saying from the first day that "Adipurush" will be an altogether new theatrical experience, and to solidify his words, the makers showed the teaser to the Hindi media people and critics on the big screen in 3D and those who were criticizing started applauding the teaser for the grandeur it involves. ## The makers did the same with the Telugu version and along with the media and critics, the Telugu teaser was also screened for the audience in approx. 60 locations. And the response from them has been completely different from what they were talking about earlier. ## Apart from criticizing the VFX, the teaser has also invited fresh controversy as many have alleged that the characters of "Ramayana" have been tampered with, and one of them is the look of Raavan, played by Saif Ali Khan. This is not the first time when films on historical and mythological topics hit controversy but this time, the makers are tackling this situation in rather a positive way. ## Om Raut along with Manoj Muntashir, who has written the dialogues of the film, have been giving intreviews from the last few days, making people understand their vision and this has made a positive impact as many prominent personalities have come out in the support of the film along with the neutral audience. ## It has been seen in the past that after such heavy trolling of a movie, makers have opted wait and watch policy. The "Adipurush" makers could also have said that people's mindset will be changed after watching the movie, but they aren't doing this and heavily promoting their film in what can be termed as a perfect and right way.## "Adipurush" is produced by T-Series and Retrophiles and also stars Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh in prominent roles. Mumbai, October 9 - Director Om Raut has been the center of criticism over the last few days for the teaser of his highly-awaited film Adipurush. Mumbai, October 5 - Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan's action thriller Vikram Vedha sees further growth at the box office, thanks to the Dussehra holiday. ## The Pushkar/Gayatri-directed movie scored an estimated 7 crores net on its first Wednesday, jumping approx. 21% from Tuesday. Director Om Raut Defends 'Adipurush' Teaser Amid Criticism

Mumbai, October 5 - The teaser of director Om Raut's mega movie Adipurush, starring Prabhas, has been under scrutiny for poor VFX. "Adipurush" is probably the most trolled movie in recent times, however, Om Raut has strongly defended the teaser amid criticism. ## Om Raut and T-Series showed the teaser to industry people on the big screen, and the reaction from the screening has completely opposite to what the audience is saying. The teaser also revealed the first look of Prabhas as Raghava, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, based on Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, and Ravana from the epic Ramayana respectively. ## The filmmaker interacted with the media after showing the teaser to the industry people. He said that he was dishearted to see the audience's reaction but wasn't surprised as he made the movie for the big screen, not for the mobile. ## "I was disheartened for sure, not surprised because the film is made for a larger medium — the big screen. You can cut it down to some extent but can't bring it down to a mobile phone. That's an environment I can't control. Given a choice, I'd never put it on YouTube but that's the need of the hour. We need to put it there so that it reaches a wide audience", Raut said according to Hindustan Times.## "My partner and the studio (T-Series) is the largest YouTube channel in the world. This film does require an audience that comes to cinema halls very rarely — primarily the senior citizen generation that doesn't come to cinemas or people from remote locations who don't have access to theaters".## "We need those people to come and see the film because it's Ramayana... We need to reach a wider audience and get them excited. So, as I said, I was not surprised because it's not made for the smaller screen. Box Office: Vikram Vedha First Tuesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 4 - Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan's action thriller Vikram Vedha has had a decent hold on Monday for Rs. 5.39 crores. The movie witnesses a jump of approx. 10% on the first Tuesday for an estimated 6 crores net. ## The jump on the first Tuesday is not big but considering the working day, the jump is a good sign for the film going forward. It also benefits due to the Dussehra holiday tomorrow as the night shows are stronger than yesterday. ## "Vikram Vedha" grossed 74 crores worldwide in the first four days, and including today's collection, the total collection has raced past 80 crores. The movie will see further jump tomorrow and all of sudden, the collection will look good. The movie is eyeing 100 crores (+/-) in the first week at the worldwide box office. ## Directed by Pushkar-Gayatri, "Vikram Vedha" has the super positive word of mouth while critics' reviews are also strong. Prabhas And Om Raut Talk About 'Adipurush' Being The Most Precious Film

Mumbai, October 4 - The teaser of Prabhas-fronted Adipurush was launched recently and it met with mixed reactions from the fans and critics. Directed by Om Raut, Adipurush is one of the most-awaited Indian films, but it seems the makers will have to spend more time on certain things to correct them before the final output is ready. ## "Adipurush" is Raut's take on the Hindu epic "Ramayana", by Valmiki, where Rama, the king of Ayodhya, travels to Lanka to rescue his wife Sita, who has been abducted by the king Ravana. The movie is set 7,000 years ago and in the film, Prabhas' character is not called Rama, he is Raghav, another name for Rama. Sita, played by Kriti Sanon, is called Janaki, while Saif Ali Khan's Ravana is Lankesh. ## Om Raut, in a recent interview with Variety, said that Prabhas was always his first choice for Raghav's character. "If it was not him, I would have not made the film", the filmmaker said and added that he designed the character to move beyond the "Prabhas persona". ## "The way he has played it is divine. It's extremely spiritual on many levels, yet at the same time, it's a commercial flick. So, it has that crazy balance of playing to the gallery, obviously, like everybody does, but at the same time, we had to maintain the sanctity and purity of the character and stay within that boundary and try to achieve what we want to achieve", Raut added.## It was not easy for Prabhas' to say yes to the movie because he thought it's the most precious film for the country and he had doubts if he could do justice to the character. But it was Raut who convinced him and asked not to worry about Raghav's role.## "Om designed the film for the present generation and wanted a swagger, which no other director could think of Adipurush like that. He designed it for kids and families. Even women love my action, so there's a lot of action. And, he designed it in a commercial way, so I think it's very happy news for the fans", Prabhas said.## Produced by T-Series and Retrophiles, "Adipurush" is scheduled to release on January 12, 2023, in Hindi, and Telugu along with dubbed versions of Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. The Madras High Court Orders Blocking Over 13K Websites To Prevent 'Vikram Vedha' Piracy

Mumbai, October 3 - Superstar Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan's action thriller Vikram Vedha is playing in theaters and doing decent business. While the makers are encouraging the audience to the film in theaters, there have been reports of the film getting leaked online. ## It has been reported that movie has been leaked online through various websites, and to prevent such activities, the Madras High Court has taken a big decision. ## According to Law Beat, the court recently passed an interim injunction restraining websites, including several unidentified ones, from infringing any copyright pertaining to "Vikram Vedha". Over 13,000 websites have been blocked to prevent piracy.## Reliance Entertainment Studio, the co-producer of the film filed a suit before the high court stating that it had invested substantial sums of money in the production of the film that had been released on over 4,000 screens across the country. ## Justice M Sundar passed the order on September 30, stating that the interim injunction shall operate for a period of six weeks. The court also ordered that the websites or any individual person must not record or reproduce any part of the film to make it available for public viewing, duplication, or distribution. ## Meanwhile, "Vikram Vedha", directed by Pushkar–Gayathri, grossed over 65 crores in the opening weekend at the worldwide box office. It is made in over 100 crores budget and has a decent run at the box office so far. The film is expected to get the benefit of the Dussehra holiday.## Stay tuned...

Vikram Vedha First Monday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 3 - Vikram Vedha went down on the first Monday of its box office run as the early estimates suggest 5.50 crores net. The film has shown around a 50% drop from the first day when the first day itself was not good enough so the drop here is big. ## The first Monday collections will take the entire box office collections to over 42cr net mark in four days which is poor collections for a film of this magnitude. The film has underperformed clearly and even the appreciation of the film is very limited which makes the respectable lifetime number way more difficult.## The first week of business of the film is heading for a 60 crores net depending upon the drops. The budget is not huge but still, it's a big film due to the star cast and buzz and these numbers are not at the level which was expected from the film.## The gangster genre films have never worked in Hindi belts on big levels. There were a few films like Vaastav and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai which tested smaller levels of success but that's about it. Mumbai, October 2 - Vikram Vedha which collected decently on the first two days did see some growth on the third day of its box office run though the growth is very negligible considering the film had such low collections on the first two days. ## The early estimate collections are set to be around 14.50 crores net box office collections which is again a low number for a huge action film like Vikram Vedha that too on Sunday. The limited growth pretty much tells about the appreciation of the film by the paying audience.## West Bengal continues to do his business as a standalone circuit but the northern belts and Mumbai proved to be a disaster for Vikram Vedha despite being frontloaded action films which these circuits prefer.## The first Sunday collections will take the entire box office collections to over the 37 crores mark and the minimum expectations from Vikram Vedha in the first weekend was 50cr so the film already has a shortfall of 13crs which will affect the lifetime business of the film.
