Lt Governor Manoj Singa Joins Rajkumar Hirani, Aamir Khan, And Mahaveer Jain To Launch New J&K Film Policy

Srinagar, August 6, 2021: Paradise on earth, Jammu & Kashmir used to be one of the top shooting destinations for filmmakers. However, due to the tensions in the region, the filmmakers began to avoid shooting here. And now, to make J&K a shooting hub, the government is working towards it taking important steps to invite filmmakers to shoot their projects. ## In this process, Lt governer of J&K Manoj Sinha, the presence of actor Aamir Khan, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, and producer Mahaveer Jain launched a new Jammu & Kashmir's Film Policy-2021 in Srinagar, on Thursday (August 5). ## "I invite filmmakers from across the world to explore the beauty of J&K. At the same time, also avail a host of incentives, besides world-class facilities", Sinha said. The government has set up a single-window clearance mechanism; prepared equipment, location, and talent directories, besides offering a host of incentives for filmmakers coming to the UT.## The policy will facilitate overall growth of the film industry in the region, setting up of J&K Film Development Council, a website for talent pool and shooting destinations; development of shooting locales, infrastructure for film screening, the revival of closed cinema halls, upgrade of cinema halls, setting up of multiplexes and cinema halls, destination marketing, J&K film festival, and restoration and preservation of J&K films.## "The new policy also aims at maximizing the potential of promising local talent and creating livelihood opportunities. The policy has been drafted after consultation with experts and in-depth study of similar policies of other states/UTs. Suggestions of renowned personalities of the film industry have also been incorporated", the L-G added. ## Sinha said to assist in film shooting, they have manpower of more than 1,500 trained artists which will also provide an opportunity to the local talent. Directed by Hansal Mehta, Kartik will play an Air Force pilot in the film, which is inspired by true events. ## "Captain India" is based on true events and inspired by one of India's successful rescue missions from a war-torn country, with Kartik as the pilot who leads the operation and displays exemplary bravery and courage. Writer and producer Harman Baweja called Captain India 'will resonate with every Indian'. ## It has now been revealed that the movie is based on one of the biggest rescue operations, "Operation Raahat", that took place in 2015. Kartik will play a pilot who led "Operation Raahat". Harman Baweja, Sanchit Gupta, Priyadarshee Srivastava, and Karan Vyas have written the script of the film, produced by RSVP Movies and Baweja Studios. ## Talking about "Operation Raahat", it was done by the Indian Armed Forces to evacuate Indian citizens and foreign nationals from Yemen during the 2015 military intervention by Saudi Arabia and its allies in that country during the Yemeni Crisis. It was a joint operation led by the Indian Navy and Air Force. ## During "Operation Raahat", more than 4,640 Indian citizens in Yemen were evacuated along with 960 foreign nationals from 41 countries. "Operation Raahat" lasted for 11 days from April 1 to April 11. Indian Air Force began evacuation on 3 April 2015 from Sana and it ended on April 9, 2015. ## "Captain India is inspiring and thrilling in equal measure and it gives me great pride and honor to be a part of such a historic chapter of our country. Shahid Kapoor Joins Hands With Director Ali Abbas Zafar For A Thriller Film?

Mumbai, August 2, 2021: Shahid Kapoor, who is currently busy shooting for his debut web series with director duo Raj & DK, has reportadly locked his next film with director Ali Abbas Zafar. The film is said to be a remake of a foreign film, for which, the details are yet to be known. ## Ali Abbas Zafar was supposed to begin a high-budget superhero film with Katrina Kaif, but due to the covid-19 pandemic, the project couldn't go on floors on time, and now, it is said that the makers have postponed it to the next year. With the superhero film delayed, Zafar has started prepping for his next which is a thriller film with Shahid. ## According to reports, the film will largely be shot in Abu Dhabi later this year. If all goes well, it will be Shahid's immediate next after his ongoing digital project on Amazon Prime Video. The paperwork is said to be done and both Ali and Shahid are looking forward to working together for the first time. Mumbai, August 1, 2021: After completing Dinesh Vijan's horror-comedy, "Bhediya" with Kriti Sanon recently, Varun Dhawan will now move to Karan Johar's emotional family drama "Jug Jugg Jeeyo". As per the latest reports, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor will resume the shooting of Raj Mehta directorial from August 10 in Mumbai. "Jug Jugg Jeeyo" is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Productions. The film went on floors last year in November but was put on hold after Varun, Neetu, and director Mehta tested positive for the covid-19.
