Kings XI Punjab held their nerve to beat Delhi Daredevils by 4-runs in yet another last over the finish in VIVO IPL 2018 at Firoz Shah Kotla Stadium, Delhi on April 23. DD found themselves at bottom of the points table as they lost the fifth game in six matches played so far.##How much did pitch offer to the bowlers##This pitch had plenty to offer to the bowlers, especially to the pacers, where out off 16 wickets fell, 13 were taken by fast bowlers. Liam Plunket and Ankit Rajpoot took best of it and share five wickets with each other.##Did DD had a chance to win##Yes, especially after restricted KXIP on a modest total of 143. They carried this momentum into their batting as Under-19 sensation and debutant Prithvi Shaw made quick fire 22 off 10 balls before he bowled out by Ankit Rajpoot. Iyer collected 12 runs in first five balls with a six and four, but he couldn't hit the boundary on the last ball and caught out by Finch at long off. Iyer was disappointed as DD lost in close encounter yet again. However, Iyer was top scorer of the match by scoring 57 off 45 balls. Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Delhi Daredevils by 6 wickets, after AB De Villiers's sensational innings of 90* off 39 balls, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore on Saturday (April 21). De Villiers special overshadows Rishabh Pant's brilliant 48-ball 85 (six fours and seven sixes) as RCB registered their second win in 5 games to move up to the fifth spot.## Where DD went wrong? ##In the first six overs, where they could only manage 28 runs. After opting for the ball, keeping in mind the possibility of rain and hoping bowlers come up with the disciplined effort. RCB put pressure on DD straightaway by not giving easy runs. With the combination of Spin and Pace, they struggled Daredevils' batsmen with accurate line and lengths. Resulted, DD could only manage to get 28 runs and lost both the openers, Gautam Gambhir and Jason Roy in first six overs. Despite hitting few boundaries, DD struggled to get runs in first 10 overs and could manage only 58 runs.## How DD paced their innings ##After losing two wickets in the powerplay, DD needed a solid partnership to get them a fighting total. Kolkata Knight riders back to winning streak after two consecutive losses, beaten Delhi Daredevils by 71 runs in a one-sided affair on Monday (April 16). DD never looked in the game despite, Rishabh Pant and Glenn Maxwell's 62 run partnership in 33 balls between them.## Sour Gautam Gambhir's Eden Gardens return, where he scripted several victories for KKR.##Russell and Rana played a big part in KKR innings. After winning the toss, KKR elected to bat first. At one stage they were struggling to score big after they were reduced to 117 for 4 in 14 overs. But Andre Russell changed the game in space of 11 balls before he bowled out to Trent Boult. He was dropped out by Jason Roy on 6 and that proved to be the turning point of the match as he took charge on Mohammed Shami and hit six sixes to him. His 41 of 12 balls and his partnership (61 of 22 balls) with Nitish Rana ensured that KKR put on a massive total. KKR finished on 200 for 9 in 20 overs. Nitish Rana scored 59 of 35 balls including five fours and four sixes.##Trent Boult was pick up bowler for DD as he conceded only 29 runs in 4 overs and picked 2 wickets including Russell's wicket. Delhi Daredevils finally managed to win a match with yet another last-ball finish in IPL 2018 over Mumbai Indians in their home ground. With this third straight defeats, Mumbai Indians find themselves in the bottom of the points table.##It turned out to be Jason Roy's night, who played his first match in this IPL and also for his new team Delhi Daredevils. KXIP began their campaign under new captain Ravichandran Ashwin with a clinical six-wicket win over Delhi Daredevils. ## Both KL Rahul and Karun Nair shone with bat and made fifty for KXIP, but Rahul was the standout performer, slamming a record 14-ball fifty that helped KXIP get their chase off to a flier. ## On the other hand, Karun Nair was more composed in his knock to take his side closer. Rahul took DD bowlers all around the park and smash fastest fifty in the history of the IPL, he took just 14 balls to get it.## Earlier in this match KXIP won the toss and opted to ball first, however, DD lost early wicket of Collin Munro, but new captain Gautam Gambhir played well to get his fifty. DD couldn't get going as they lost wickets in middle overs, and only managed to get a total of 166, which was under par score. ## The 17-year old young sensation Afghanistan's Mujeeb Ur Rahman made his debut memorable in IPL by picking two wickets for just 28 runs. He got dangerous Collin Munro in his first over.## DD needed early wickets to made this run chase tough for KXIP, but KL Rahul had some other plans, he not only gave KXIP a good start but also ensure that Punjab got to a flier. He slammed Trent Boult for six and two fours in first over. Rahul takes on Amit Mishra, who bowled 3rd over of the innings, and slammed him for 24 runs, which included 2 sixes and 3 fours.
