Mumbai, April 24 - Zack Snyder's epic space opera film Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver was the number one movie worldwide on Netflix's top 10 chart, but it failed to match the opening weekend numbers of its predecessor Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire which was released in December last year. ## Released on April 19, Rebel Moon 2 scored 44.2 million viewing hours from 21.4 million views in its first 3-day weekend. It generated 10.5% lower viewership than the first movie which scored 54.1 million viewing hours from 23.9 million views in its opening weekend.## Just like the first part, the sequel also opened to terrible critics' reviews while audience reception was also not encouraging which restricted it to below the first movie. The first movie managed to stay in Netflix's top 10 viewership chart for 5 weeks (including April 15 - April 21, 2024) during which it scored 78.4 million full views. ## The film takes place on the moon of Veldt where Kora and the crew of warriors venture to help the farmers to defend and fight for their home against the Motherworld. Los Angeles, April 19 - Zack Snyder's epic space opera Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver is getting ripped apart by critics as far as the initial response is concerned, just like the first part. ## After the disastrous response to the first movie, Rebel Moon: Part One - A Child of Fire, critics are calling its sequel even worse in terms of story as early reviews on Rotten Tomatoes are the worst ever for Zack Snyder's directorial. ## Rebel Moon - Part 2 started streaming on Netflix on April 19 and the current critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes is just 18% of 61 reviews. Mumbai, March 19 - Amazon Prime Video set to woo audiences around the world, craving for Indian content. The streaming giant has announced a new slate with 70 Indian shows and movies that are scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform over the next two years. ## Amid the original shows and movies, Prime Video also announced several films which will premiere after their theatrical releases. While some of the films are already in the filming stage, some of them will start rolling soon and will premiere on Prime Video after completing their theatrical journey. ## Here are all the Indian movies coming to Prime Video after their theatrical release - ## Housefull 5 - The fifth instalment in the popular comedy franchise, the movie stars Akshay Kumar, and Riteish Deshmukh in the leading roles. The movie was made available to stream from February 15 and it scored 13 million viewing hours from 4.9 million views in the first 4 days. ## Dunki has so far scored 24.1 million viewing hours from 9.1 million views, making it one of the most-watched Indian films on the streamer in the first 11 days. Mumbai, February 7 - Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor has broken a viewership record on Netflix. The action drama film scored the highest viewership for an Indian movie (direct or indirect) on the streamer in the first 10 days. ## Animal, which premiered on Netflix on January 26, has so far scored 39.3 million viewing hours from 11.7 million views in the first 10 days which is the highest ever for an Indian title. Previously, Yami Gautam-starrer Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga (direct release) was the most-watched Indian title on Netflix in the first 10 days with 29 million hours. ## Among the post-theatrical Netflix releases, SS Rajamouli's mega-hit RRR was previously the number-one watched movie at the same time with 25.5 million viewing hours, a number Animal has beaten by a long margin. It scored 20.8 million viewing hours in the opening weekend, followed by 18.5 million in the second week (January 29 - February 4). ## Animal is trending in the top 10 list in 17 countries, including number-one in India, Sri Lanka, UAE, Maldives, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Mauritius. Mumbai, February 1 - Filmmaker Rohit Shetty's cop action drama series Indian Police Force which marks his digital debut, is the most-watched Indian web series on Amazon Prime Video in its first week of launch, the streamer said (via Variety). ## The series, created and directed by Rohit Shetty and Sushwanth Prakash, was released on January 19. While the viewership data were not revealed by the streamer, it trended in the Top 10 titles list in 65 countries in the first week. The streamer has been putting efforts to make a mark in the Indian digital space and its upcoming South Indian slate is the first major push. ## The biggest film Netflix has acquired is the upcoming Pan India movie Pushpa - The Rule. Starring superstar Allu Arjun, the action drama film is scheduled to release theatrically on August 15, 2024, in multiple languages and it is likely to be available on Netflix after an 8-week theatrical window in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil. ## Superstar Jr. NTR's action drama Devara - Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva, is another big Telugu Pan India film acquired by Netflix after its theatrical release, which is on April 5. After debuting at number 1 with 54.1 million viewing hours from 23.9 million views, the movie scored 77 million viewing hours from 34 million views in the week of December 25 - December 31, 2023. ## The total viewership of "Rebel Moon" is 131.1 million viewing hours from 57.9 million views in the first 10 days. The numbers are good considering the poor reviews from critics at 24% and the average response from audiences at 60% on Rotten Tomatoes.## Starring Sofia Boutella, the film is set in a fictional galaxy ruled by the imperialistic Motherworld, whose military, the Imperium, threatens a farming colony on the moon of Veldt.
