Spider-Man has always been more than just a superhero; he is a global phenomenon that brings people of all ages to the theaters. Whether it is the nostalgic pull of Peter Parker or the sheer scale of the web-slinging action, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has captured the audience's imagination. The vibe in the theaters remains electric, with fans celebrating the friendly neighborhood hero in a way that makes the movie sell like hot cakes across every major circuit. Let us dive into the numbers for the first Monday in India. On its fifth day, the film collected a gross amount of 28.45 crore rupees. When we look at the net collection, it stands at 23.80 crore rupees across 16,874 shows. Now, you might notice a 69.4 percent drop from Sunday's massive net of 77.75 crore rupees, but this is a very logical trend for a big-budget blockbuster on its first working day. Despite the expected Monday dip, the film is holding strong, bringing the total India gross collection to 336.91 crore rupees and the total net collection to 281.75 crore rupees so far.

The global footprint of this film is truly staggering. Spider-Man: Brand New Day has already reached a massive worldwide gross of 9,550 crore rupees. This total is supported by an incredible overseas contribution of 5,700 crore rupees, alongside the strong performance we are seeing locally. To understand the massive scale of the release in India, the movie has already clocked a cumulative total of 86,780 shows across the country in just its first five days. This high volume of screenings confirms that the film is being treated as a major event, with theaters dedicating maximum capacity to keep up with the relentless demand from fans.
The choice between 2D and 3D formats reveals a lot about how different audiences want to experience this film. For the English version, the industry has pushed 3D as the primary experience, but the numbers show that fans are still very fond of the traditional 2D format. In Mumbai, there were 676 shows for English 3D with an occupancy of 20.3 percent, while the 2D version managed a slightly better occupancy of 21.8 percent across 170 shows. We see a similar trend in the National Capital Region, where English 3D had a massive 615 shows at 20.5 percent occupancy, while 319 shows were dedicated to 2D. In Bengaluru and Hyderabad, the show counts for English 3D are significantly higher at 573 and 317 respectively, yet English 2D in Hyderabad actually pulled ahead with a 27.8 percent occupancy compared to 23.3 percent in 3D. This suggests that for English-speaking viewers, the content of the film is the main draw regardless of the extra dimension.

However, the story changes completely when we look at the Hindi-speaking markets, where 3D is clearly the preferred way to watch a spectacle of this scale. In the National Capital Region, the Hindi 3D version saw 465 shows with a healthy 26.5 percent occupancy, whereas the 2D version lagged behind at 21 percent across 320 shows. This preference for 3D becomes even more obvious in smaller cities and mass circuits. In Lucknow, Hindi 3D recorded an occupancy of 25.8 percent across 112 shows, but the 2D format dropped significantly to just 16 percent despite having a similar show count of 120. Ahmedabad and Surat tell the same story, with Hindi 3D outperforming 2D in both occupancy and show volume. For example, in Ahmedabad, 3D occupancy stood at 21 percent across 195 shows, while 2D sat at 16.5 percent across 139 shows. It is clear that for the Hindi audience, if they are going to head to the theater for a superhero blockbuster, they want the full immersive experience that only 3D provides.
In the national multiplex chains, the performance of Spider-Man remains incredibly dominant, with tickets selling like hot cakes across every major property. The top three national chains accounted for approximately 1,44,000 tickets sold for Monday. When we break this down, PVR led the pack with around 77,000 tickets, generating a gross of 3.20 crore rupees with an occupancy of 11.69 percent across 3,466 shows. INOX followed with 47,000 tickets, contributing a gross of 1.75 crore rupees from 2,727 shows. Cinepolis rounded out the group with 20,000 tickets, bringing in 75 lakh rupees from 1,710 shows. Together, these three chains alone grossed 5.70 crore rupees from a total of 7,900 shows across 1,452 venues.

The digital momentum is just as impressive, as the film continues to reach massive milestones on booking platforms. On BookMyShow, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially crossed the 6 million ticket mark, with the cumulative total currently standing at over 60.52 lakh tickets. Even on a working Monday, the film saw an addition of more than 3.86 lakh tickets sold through the platform. This level of sustained interest, as noted by Venky Box Office, shows that the movie is maintaining an exceptional grip on the market, outperforming expectations and cementing its place as a historic success in the Indian box office.
The record-breaking streak continues in the domestic US market as well. The film is currently trending toward a 45 million dollar Monday, which would set a new all-time record by surpassing the 40.15 million dollar Monday set by Black Panther. With a four-day domestic total already at 405 million dollars in the US, the movie is consistently outperforming some of the biggest hits in cinema history. Whether it is in Chennai, where occupancy reached a high of 59.5 percent for English 3D, or in the major multiplexes of North India, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a certified juggernaut that is living up to every bit of the hype.
