Despite the worsening coronavirus situation in India with the rapid rise in cases, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is hopeful that the England series to be played in India early next year as per the originally scheduled.## The England team is scheduled to travel to India for five Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is, to be played between January and March. However, there have been some reports of the England series being played in the UAE where the ongoing season of the IPL is happening due to the covid-19 situation in India. ## However, BCCI president, Sourav Ganguly has reiterated the board's priority to host England early next year in India. ## "The priority is to make this (series against England) happen in India. We will try to make this happen on Indian grounds. The advantage in the UAE is they have three stadiums (Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai)", Sourav Ganguly said as stated by Cricbuzz. ## The intensify situation of covid-19 has already forced the Indian domestic season to postpone which should have been started by now. However, Ganguly said that the board continues to work on trying to 'make it happen as much as we can'.## "We are monitoring it (covid-19 situation). We want to have our domestic season. We have all the combinations, situations ready in our minds. We will try and make it happen as much as we can".## "Everything is fluid. Legendary playback singer Sripathi Panditaradhyula Balasubrahmanyam (SPB) has lost the battle to the covid-19 at the age of 74 today. He had tested positive for coronavirus earlier in the month of August and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Chennai where he took his last breath. ## Having lost a celebrated musician who had sung over 40,000 songs in as many as 16 languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, the nation is in shock, and fans of SP Balasubramanyam are in grief. Social media is flooded with condolences, from celebrities and fans of the late musician.## Previously, it was reported that SP Balasubramanyam was responding well to the treatment and was also expected to be discharged. Recently, the Government of India banned 118 chinses apps including the popular mobile game, PubG. Soon after the game was banned, Bollywood superstar, Akshay Kumar announced a new game FAU-G - Fearless And United Guards in association with the developers of the game nCORE Games. ## Right after the announcement of the game FAU-G, a section of the internet started speculating that the game was originally conceptualized by late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. However, the developers of the game took to their Twitter handle to clear all such speculations by saying that such rumors were absolutely false and baseless and the game was developed by an Indian entrepreneur Mr. Vishal Gondal, Mr. Dayanadhi MG, and others who’ve been in the gaming industry for 20 years now. ## The developers also clarify that the poster of the game hasn't been plagiarized and said that they have officially bought the license to use the image from Shutter Stock. India have retained the hosting rights for the men's T20 World Cup in 2021 while Australia will host T20 World Cup in 2022. Both the nations were not able to host the respective tournaments which were originally scheduled to take place in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ## Meanwhile, Women's ODI World Cup which was slated to be played in New Zealand in February-March 2021, has now been postponed to February-March 2022, the ICC announced on Friday (August 7) after a meeting of the International Business Corporation (the commercial subsidiary of the ICC). ## "We now have absolute clarity on the future of ICC events enabling all of our Members to focus on the rescheduling of lost international and domestic cricket. We will now proceed as planned with the Men's T20 World Cup 2021 in India and host the 2022 edition in Australia," ICC Chief Executive Manu Sawhney said.## Earlier, ICC had announced the postponement of the 2020 edition of the Men's T20 World Cup on July 20 and had also marked a window for the three men's events in 2021, 2022, and 2023. However, a new qualification process will be in place for the Men's T20 World Cup in 2022.## For the Women's 50-over World Cup, five teams had already qualified for the tournament originally scheduled in 2021. The final three teams were to be decided through a qualification competition that was scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka in July 2020 but was postponed because of the pandemic. In the view of the big development in the Cricket, on Monday (July 27), the International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially launched the Cricket World Cup Super League which will kick start with the forthcoming ODI series between England and Ireland, beginning on July 30. ## The World Cup Super League which was first announced in June 2018, will be used to determine the qualification scenario for the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 which is scheduled to take place in India in October-November 2023. ## A total of 13 teams (12 Full Members & Netherlands) with each side to play four home & four away 3-match series will feature in this Cricket World Cup Super League. And top 7 teams, besides team India, will secure direct qualification to the 2023 World Cup.## All the 13 teams which will participate in this league, will get 10 points for a win, 5 points for no result, or Tie. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the tensions have increased between India and China at the border after a violent face-off on June 15-16 at Line Of Actual Control (LAC) between the two nuclear nations. A few days after, the government of India took a bold decision and banned 59 Chinese apps including Tik Tok, Xender, UC Browser, and Shareit. ## Now, supporting the GOI's move, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has passed a statement and asked Bollywood stars not to endorse any Chinese product. The statement read as follows, "We, therefore, request all not to endorse any Chinese brand in the wake of the ongoing tension between the two countries".## "It is an issue of serious concern and we should all give utter priority to the safety and security of our Nation. For us, the 'Nation comes First'. Hence, we appeal all to kindly refrain from promoting any Chinese products or related brands".## Several Bollywood stars including Amir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Deepika Padukone, and others promote mobile phones that are made in china. As the tensions between India and China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) continue, the Gove of India has decided to ban on 59 Chinese apps which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, the security of the state and public order. ## The government has decided to disallow the usage of these apps both in mobile and non-mobile Internet-enabled devices. ## The Full press release statement by Government of India ## The Ministry of Information Technology, invoking it’s power under section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with the relevant provisions of the Information Technology (Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking of Access of Information by Public) Rules 2009 and in view of the emergent nature of threats has decided to block 59 apps ( see Appendix) since in view of information available they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order. ## Over the last few years, India has emerged as a leading innovator when it comes to technological advancements and a primary market in the digital space. ## At the same time, there have been raging concerns on aspects relating to data security and safeguarding the privacy of 130 crore Indians. It has been noted recently that such concerns also pose a threat to sovereignty and security of our country. The Ministry of Information Technology has received many complaints from various sources including several reports about misuse of some mobile apps available on Android and iOS platforms for stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users’ data in an unauthorized manner to servers which have locations outside India. The compilation of these data, its mining and profiling by elements hostile to national security and defence of India, which ultimately impinges upon the sovereignty and integrity of India, is a matter of very deep and immediate concern which requires emergency measures. ## The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, Ministry of Home Affairs has also sent an exhaustive recommendation for blocking these malicious apps. This Ministry has also received many representations raising concerns from citizens regarding security of data and risk to privacy relating to operation of certain apps. The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN) has also received many representations from citizens regarding security of data and breach of privacy impacting upon public order issues. Likewise, there have been similar bipartisan concerns, flagged by various public representatives, both outside and inside the Parliament of India. There has been a strong chorus in the public space to take strict action against Apps that harm India’s sovereignty as well as the privacy of our citizens. ## On the basis of these and upon receiving of recent credible inputs that such Apps pose threat to sovereignty and integrity of India, the Government of India has decided to disallow the usage of certain Apps, used in both mobile and non-mobile Internet enabled devices. These apps are listed in the attached appendix. ## This move will safeguard the interests of crores of Indian mobile and internet users. For the first time in 45 years, India and China have a violent face-off in which at least 20 Indian shoulders were Martyred while a few were injured.
