Mumbai, June 9 - Yash Raj Films' all-time blockbuster movie Pathaan starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan along with John Abraham and Deepika Padukone has been confirmed to release in Russia with a record number of screens. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, the spy action thriller film will be hitting Russia along with other CIS countries theaters on July 13, 2023, and will release on over 3000 screens across the region. This is the widest release ever for an Indian movie in this part of the world. ## "Pathaan" was recently released in Bangladesh and became the first Bollywood movie in many many years to secure a release date in this country.## Originally, the movie was released in January this year and is currently the highest-grossing Indian movie of the year at the worldwide box office. It grossed over 1050 crores worldwide, including over 650 crores at the domestic box office. Mumbai, May 5 - Bollywood star John Abraham is riding high about the mega-blockbuster success of "Pathaan" in which he plays the role of a deadly antagonist Jim. The actor is receiving a lot of praise for his performance which is tempting him to carefully set up his future films. ## It was recently reported that John wants to focus on action films going forward for the next couple of years and has turned down many scripts that promised otherwise. After going through several scripts, John has reportedly signed his first film post "Pathaan" success. ## According to Peepingmoon.com, the "Dhoom" star will be reuniting with director Nikkhil Advani after their successful "Batla House" (2019). It is said that John will headline Advani's next action drama inspired by true events just like their first collaboration. ## The actor will reportedly be playing the role of a rescuer who meets with many challenges in his mission. "Bunty Aur Babli 2" actress Sharvari Wagh has been attached to play the female lead while Abhishek Banerjee will also be playing a key role in the yet-untitled upcoming movie. ## Nikkhil Advani's home banner Emmay Entertainment will produce this film with Zee Studios. Mumbai, May 5 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's all-time blockbuster spy action thriller Pathaan is all set to historic release in Bangladesh amid huge excitement among the fans. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, "Pathaan" will be the first major Hindi film in many years to have secured release in the neighboring country and will be hitting theaters nationwide on May 12, according to Variety. ## Bollywood films haven't been released in Bangladesh since the country's formation in 1971, in order to protect the local film industry. Mumbai, April 5 - IMAX recorded record-breaking results at the box office in the first quarter of 2023 as the company announced on April 4 that its first quarter box office earning was $282.2 million, beating its previous best set in 2016 by more than $10 million. ## The record-breaking results were powered by a potent global mix of releases; the first quarter now stands as IMAX's highest-grossing quarter ever for local language releases and also saw the stunning performance of James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water".## As far as Indian films are concerned, IMAX announced that Shah Rukh Khan-fronted mega-blockbuster "Pathaan" delivered IMAX's biggest global opening weekend of all time for an Indian film. The company didn't reveal the box office collection for a particular local movie but revealed that local language films recorded $86.3 million and "Pathaan" was one of the biggest contributors to that. ## "The first quarter is an excellent indicator of the promise we see in 2023 — a year in which we expect to return to our record-breaking levels of box office from 2019", said Rich Gelfond, CEO of IMAX. "Our best-ever box office for the quarter demonstrates that IMAX is wholly unique in its ability to capitalize on both Hollywood and local language box office, and our diversifying content portfolio remains a key, successful pillar of our global growth strategy".## Released in December 2022, James Cameron's "Avatar: The Way of Water" was the highest-grossing IMAX release of the quarter and has now generated $255 million in IMAX — the Company's highest-grossing first-run release of all time. ## As for the local language release, China Film Group's "The Wandering Earth 2", now stands as IMAX's highest-grossing film of all time. Mumbai, March 20 - Ranbir Kapoor-fronted period action drama film Shamshera was one of the most anticipated movies of 2022, however, it bombed at the box office and turned out to be the biggest disappointment for Bollywood. ## Directed by Karan Malhotra, Shamshera met with poor reviews from critics which didn't help the movie to take a big opening and then, the poor reception from audiences as well made sure it go nowhere at the box office. The movie got criticism for poor writing and direction which led to its major disappointment. ## Now, the dialogue writer of the film, Piyush Mishra opened up about its failure at the box office. In a candid chat with Hindustan Times, the veteran actor and writer said that "I also didn't understand why it didn’t work. People said it didn’t work due to the script". ## "I think we have already seen fantastic stunts so many times. Now you will have to compete with them, the revolution in the South. Baahubali was not merely CGI, it also had a very solid script. To compete with a Baahubali, you will have to write an equally brilliant script. Pushpa also had a very good script, it wasn't made just like that. Adding CGI is only beneficial when you have a solid script, CGI without a script is of no use", he added.## Though there wasn't too much criticism for dialogues, Mishra said that it's the screenplay that decides the quality of dialogues in a film. "I derive my inspiration only from the screenplay. Dialogues depend on the screenplay. It's not possible to write dialogues for a bad screenplay, at least for me it's not possible", he concludes.## Produced by Yash Raj Films on a budget of around 150 crores, Shamshera did a worldwide business of approx. 60 crores, including approx. 48 crores domestically. While most of the films have been falling apart in the opening weekend itself, completing 50 days in theaters is no less than a historic achievement in today's time. ## On its 50th day, the Siddharth Anand's directorial is still being played in 20 countries. In India, it is playing in over 800 theaters and 135 cinemas across international markets in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. YRF has also reduced ticket prices and resulting in, it still minting money at the box office. ## So far, Pathaan has grossed approx. 1045 crores at the worldwide box office, including approx. 655 crores domestically and approx. 390 crores overseas. The spy actioner has broken many records during its box office journey and one of them is becoming the highest-grossing Hindi language movie domestically and worldwide. ## It has beaten SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 to become the biggest film in India in a single language. Mumbai, March 15 - The mega-blockbuster success of Pathaan has proved why Shah Rukh Khan is one of the biggest superstars in the country. The movie was all about SRK and his comeback to the big screen, and in between his dominance on the screen, the other character of the movie who found appreciation was John Abraham's Jim. ## John Abraham portrayed the role of the lead antagonist Jim. Jim was himself a fierce RAW agent but unfortunate events made him turn up against his own people. Fans lauded John's performance as one his finest ever, and it was a matter of time before Yash Raj Film bring him back to its Spy Universe. ## Director Siddharth Anand had previously said that he would love to make a spin-off film on Jim and now, according to Mid-Day, YRF is indeed planning the project. ## "Given that a mere glimpse of his character's back story in Pathaan evoked such a positive response, the makers now want to show his heroics and the events that led him to become a fallen agent who lost hope in humanity, and turned into an evil mercenary", reports Mid-Day. ## The project is still in the early stage as YRF is currently working on "Tiger 3" and will then head to "War 2". The spin-off of Jim will focus on the establishment of the deeper connections of him with other characters in the Spy Universe. In "Pathaan", it was revealed that Jim and Kabir (played by Hrithik in War) were trained in the same spy agency. ## Pathaan concludes with a scene that sees Jim falling into a valley, suggesting that he has been killed. It has crossed the lifetime net collection of SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster "Baahubali 2" which scored 510.99 crores net in Hindi in 2017. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, "Pathaan" is now the biggest Indian as well as a non-Indian movie at the domestic box office as far as the net collection is concerned. Mumbai, February 28 - The trequel to the iconic comedy franchise, Hera Pheri has been confirmed and the makers recently shoot a promo for the same with the original trio of Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, and Paresh Rawal.## "Hera Pheri 3" is one of the three films of producer Firoz Nadiadwala which has been in development for a long time and finally, it is happening. The producer also working to revive Welcome and Awara Pagal Deewana, and he finally seems to have found a way to successfully bring them into the scene. ## According to Peepingmoon.com, producer Firoz Nadiadwala has locked "Awara Pagal Deewana 2" which will be the immediate next after Hera Pheri 3. Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal will be returning to reprise their popular quirky characters of Guru Gulab Khatri, Yeda Anna, and Manilal Patel, respectively, and this time, they will be joined by John Abraham. ## The script of "Awara Pagal Deewana 2" has reportedly been locked and the movie is expected to go into production later this year.
