Mumbai, November 13 - Actor Vicky Kaushal has been in top form lately with back-to-back box-office successes. The biggest hit for the actor in recent times was the romantic comedy Zara Hatke Zara Bachke with producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films. This film opened the door for more collaboration between the two. ## After ZHZB, Vicky reunited with Vijan for a historical film titled Chhaava. The movie is scheduled to be released early next year and it is said the producer is confident that it will deliver big at the box office. Meanwhile, Chhaava is not the only film between the two creative forces as the actor has signed his third film with the studio.## On Wednesday (November 13), Maddock announced that the Sam Bahadur star will headline an epic historical film, titled Mahavatar. The actor has already signed the dotted lines and will start preparation for the same after completing Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic Love & War. ## Mahavatar is set against the backdrop of Ramayana and is about one of the most pivotal characters of the epic, Lord Parshuram. The film is undoubtedly the most ambitious one for both Maddock and Vicky Kaushal. The film requires 6 to 8 months plus of prep before going on floors, and that begins in 2025. ## Parashurama is the sixth avatar among the Dashavatara of the god Vishnu. He is one of the Chiranjivis (Immortals), who will appear at the end of the Kali Yuga to be the guru of Vishnu's tenth and last incarnation, Kalki. ## The movie will be directed by Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik and will hit the big screens on Christmas 2026. Meanwhile, Vicky is gearing up to commence the filming of Love and War which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. It is easily one of the most anticipated films with an A-lister cast and crew. Mumbai, November 9 - A major box office clash which was shaping up to light up the big screens in the first week of December 2024 has reportedly been averted as Maddock Films' potential blockbuster Chhaava is no longer coming in the way of highly-anticipated Pushpa 2 - The Rule, starring superstar Allu Arjun. ## The Vicky Kaushal-fronted historical action drama was scheduled to be released on December 6, a day after Pushpa 2, but is now looking for a new date to hit the big screens. According to Peepingmoon.com, the Laxman Utekar's directorial is now contemplating two release dates for arrival. ## While the official new release date is yet to be locked, it is said that the makers are weighing either December 20, during Christmas festival weekend or during the Sankranthi festival weekend on January 10 for its release. The final call is expected to be made in the next couple of weeks. ## The Christmas 2024 weekend has some competition as a couple of biggies scheduled to be released at the Hindi box office in the form of the Hollywood title Mufasa: The Lion King (December 20) and Varun Dhawan's hugely-awaited Baby John (December 25) in addition to Pushpa 2 which can have a long run at the box office. ## For Sankranti 2025, there is currently superstar Ram Charan's Game Changer scheduled to release on January 10 in multiple languages, including Hindi in which the movie is expected to do well. It will be interesting to see which slot makers choose to release Chhaava as both are lucrative festive slots for the box office. ## Chhava is a historical epic film based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, played by Vicky Kaushal. The movie was supposed to be released in October during Gandhi Jayanti weekend but was pushed back. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Maddock Films and the team have now locked the Republic Day weekend 2025 release for Sky Force. It is directed by Sandeep Kewlani, and Abhishek Anil Kapur and also stars Sara Ali Khan, Veer Pahariya, and Nimrat Kaur in prominent roles. ## Sky Force is set against the backdrop of India's first-ever air strike on Pakistan. It is said to be a perfect fit for a Republic Day weekend release due to its patriotic flavour and is high on action, drama, emotions, and thrills to keep the audience excited. ## The VFX of Sky Force is done by the National and Oscar Award-winning company - DNEG. It has breathtaking aerial visuals. Mumbai, August 25 - Bollywood star Akshay Kumar's action thriller Sky Force has been postponed from October 2nd release. Based on the true events of one of the deadliest air strikes by the Indian Air Force, the movie is directed by Abhishek Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani. ## Produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Sky Force was supposed to be the studios' next release after the latest box office sensation Stree 2 which has crossed 500 crores gross worldwide. While the reasons for the postponement are not known yet, reports say Sky Force will now be released in January 2025.## Interestingly, the promo of Sky Force was supposed to be attached with Stree 2 in theatres but was postponed, giving the first indication of its delay in the release. Mumbai, June 21 - Director Aditya Sarpotdar's horror-comedy Munjya has become the second highest-grossing film in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe, behind only Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree. ## The fourth film in the horror-comedy universe, Munjya has scored approximately 68 crores net collection in 2 weeks (14 days) and it will be crossing Bhediya (69 crores net) today to become the second biggest grosser in the series. Stree is currently on top with approximately 130 crores net. ## Munjya has had an excellent hold in the second week, dropping just 7.50% from the first week for approximately 32.65 crores net, despite the release of Kartik Aaryan's Chandu Champion which is a much bigger movie in terms of scale, budget and star power and also with positive reviews and word of mouth. ## The Abhay Verma and Sharvari Wagh-starrer are expected to remain strong in its third week in the absence of notable releases. Mumbai, June 8 - Director Aditya Sarpotdar's Munjya has taken the third-best opening in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe after performing way above expectations. It is the 4th movie in the studio's successful Supernatural Universe after Stree (2018), Roohi (2021), and Bhediya (2022).## Starring Sharvari Wagh, Mona Singh, Abhay Verma, and Sathyaraj in the key roles, Munjya scored approximately 4 crores net on its opening day, including the previews. In the horror-comedy universe, it is the third-best start after Bhediya (7.50 crores net) and Stree (6.82 crores net). If this happens, it will be the first time when the duo will star together in a film. ## According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Sidharth Malhotra was recently spotted in the Maddock office sparking rumours of an upcoming film with Kriti Sanon. However, nothing has been confirmed yet regarding this collaboration. ## Sidharth was last seen in the action thriller Yodha while Kriti was featured in the romantic comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. Among the 10 films, "Happy Teachers Day" will release this year while 6 films will debut in 2024, and 3 films will hit screens in 2025.## Happy Teachers Day - Directed by Mikhil Musale, the movie stars Nimrat Kaur, Radhika Madan, Bhaygashree, and Subodh Bhave in prominent roles. Mumbai, July 11 - The much-awaited sequel to producer Dinesh Vijan's blockbuster horror-comedy "Stree" has commenced filming today in Chanderi. Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao return to reprise their roles along with Pankaj Tripti, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee from the first movie. ## The makers announced the commencement of the shoot today with a twist in the plot of "Stree 2". While Stree, played by Flora Saini, brought chaos in the life of Chanderi's people, this time Stree will come to save them from the terror of a head-cutter as the villagers call for "O Stree, protect us".## Amar Kaushik returns to direct the sequel, produced by Vijan's Maddock Films. Raj & D.K., who wrote the screenplay of the first film, are not a part of the movie. The film is a part of Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe which kicked off with "Stree" (2018), followed by "Roohi" (2021) and "Bhediya" (2022).
