Akshay Kumar's Action Adventure 'Ram Setu' Trailer Clocks Over 25 Million Views In The First 24-Hours

Mumbai, October 12 - Akshay Kumar-fronted action adventure Ram Setu is one of the most-awaited films and the trailer of the same was launched on October 11. The film, directed by Abhishek Sharma, is set in 2007 and it follows an archeologist who is investigating the nature of Ram Setu, known in English as Adam's Bridge.## The trailer has received a good response from the audience on YouTube. It was launched in Hindi along with Tamil and Telugu and clocked over 25 million views in the first 24 hours. The Hindi trailer scored 22.8 million views while Telugu and Tamil trailers, which were launched a few hours later, clocked 1.4 million and 1.1 million, respectively. ## The response to the "Ram Setu" trailer is good but as compared to Akshay Kumar's recent films, the response is mixed. The "Bachchhan Paandey" trailer had got 31+ million views in the first 24 hours while "Samrat Prithviraj" scored 44+ million, which is the highest ever for an Akshay Kumar movie during the said time. "Raksha Bandhan", meanwhile, has had a decent response with 17+ million views. ## "Ram Setu", produced by Cape of Good Films, Abundantia Entertainment, Lyca Productions, and Amazon Prime Video, is touted to be the biggest film of Akshay Kumar's career. Pearl V Puri To Make Bollywood Debut As Second Instalment Of 'Yaariyan' Announced With Release Date

Mumbai, October 12 - Popular Hindi TV actor, Pearl V Puri is set to make his Bollywood debut with the second installment of 2014 hit Yaariyan. The actor will be sharing screen space with Divya Khosla Kumar, Meezan Jafri, and Yash Dasgupta in the lead role while it also stars Anaswara Rajan, Warina Hussain, and Priya Varrier in key roles. ## Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru of "Sanam Teri Kasam" fame have been attached to direct Yaariyan 2. 2022 Becomes The First Year To Have Five Indian Movies In 400 Crores Club Worldwide

Mumbai, October 11 - It has been a record-breaking year for the Indian film industry which has delivered some of the biggest blockbusters of all time. There were a lot of doubts about how the movies will perform at the box office in the post-pandemic era, and now, all the questions have been answered, however, complete normalcy at the box office is yet to be achieved. ## On the brighter side of the picture, 2022 has become the first ever year for the Indian film industry to have five films in the 400 crores at the worldwide box office. This has never happened before in Indian cinema where as many as films scored 400 crores globally. The previous highest 400 crores grossing film count in a single year was 4 which was achieved in 2018. ## SS Rajamouli's global blockbuster RRR was the first to achieve this feat this year in March. It went on to gross over 1100 crores worldwide, before Yash-fronted KGF: Chapter 2 outshined it and grossed more than 1200 crores in April and became the third highest-grossing Indian film of all time. ## The third film in the 400 crores club this year was Kamal Haasan's biggest blockbuster Vikram, which was released in June. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, "Vikram" was a surprise entry into the 400 crores club and finished at approx. 414 crores. ## Director Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra Part One: Shiva was the next on the list and currently stands at approx. 430 crores while Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1 is the latest entry in this quoted box office club with around 410 crores so far. The current combined gross total of all five films is 3570 crores.## Industry-wise, Tamil cinema is leading the 400 crore club in 2022 with 2 films ("Vikram", and "PS-1") while one each belongs to Telugu ("RRR"), Kannada ("KGF 2"), and Hindi ("Brahmastra"). The common thing among these five films is that all these films result in multiple languages though only "RRR" and "KGF 2" scored higher numbers in other languages. ## In 2018, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's "2.0" (744 cr.), Ranbir Kapoor's "Sanju" (588 cr.), Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's "Padmaavat" (585 cr.), and Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer "Andhadhun" (438 cr.) had scored 400+ crores at the worldwide box office. Adipurush Makers Adopt Right Approach To Make People Change Their Minds

Mumbai, October 9 - A lot has happened over the past week regarding director Om Raut's magnum opus film Adipurush. The teaser of this Prabhas-fronted film was launched on October 3 amid huge anticipation, however, after its release, the teaser has become the center of controversy and criticism on various fronts. ## Based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, "Adipurush" is a VFX-heavy film that has become a huge topic of discussion. The growth from Friday is a big one with approx 60% growth. Mumbai, October 8 - The long-awaited drama film Tejas, starring Kangana Ranaut is set to be delayed further. The Sarvesh Mewara-directed movie was supposed to release last year before it was pushed to October 2022 release due to the covid-19 pandemic, and now, Kangana announced a new release plan for the movie. ## On the occasion of Air force Day, Kangana Ranaut took to Twitter to greeted Air Force warriors and announced that her much-awaited film will now be released in Summer 2023. Recently, it was reported that the movie might hit big screens in January 2023, but now, it has been postponed further to give it a proper theatrical release. ## Kangana Ranaut is playing Indian Air Force pilot Tejas Gill in the movie that is produced by Ronnie Screwwala under the banner of RSVP Movies. The story of the film showcases landmark event in 2016 when the Indian Air Force became the country's first defence force to induct women into combat roles, the courageous journey of an Indian Air Force pilot. ## As per the reports, the reason for the delaying the release dates is the long time taken in the post production work because of the heavy VFX shots. Mumbai, October 6 - Vikram Vedha has a drop on the first Thursday of its box office run which was expected as it came after a holiday. The early estimate collections suggest Rs. 3 crores net.## The first Thursday collections will take the entire box office of Vikram Vedha to over the 58cr net mark. Box Office: Vikram Vedha First Wednesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 5 - Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan's action thriller Vikram Vedha sees further growth at the box office, thanks to the Dussehra holiday. ## The Pushkar/Gayatri-directed movie scored an estimated 7 crores net on its first Wednesday, jumping approx. 21% from Tuesday. The total net collection of the film has reached approx. 55 crores net in 6 days as the opening week collection is eyeing around 58-60 crores. ## "Vikram Vedha" has underperformed in the first six days though the movie has managed to hold well over the week. Director Om Raut Defends 'Adipurush' Teaser Amid Criticism

Mumbai, October 5 - The teaser of director Om Raut's mega movie Adipurush, starring Prabhas, has been under scrutiny for poor VFX. "Adipurush" is probably the most trolled movie in recent times, however, Om Raut has strongly defended the teaser amid criticism. ## Om Raut and T-Series showed the teaser to industry people on the big screen, and the reaction from the screening has completely opposite to what the audience is saying. The teaser also revealed the first look of Prabhas as Raghava, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, based on Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, and Ravana from the epic Ramayana respectively. ## The filmmaker interacted with the media after showing the teaser to the industry people. He said that he was dishearted to see the audience's reaction but wasn't surprised as he made the movie for the big screen, not for the mobile. ## "I was disheartened for sure, not surprised because the film is made for a larger medium — the big screen. You can cut it down to some extent but can't bring it down to a mobile phone. That's an environment I can't control. Given a choice, I'd never put it on YouTube but that's the need of the hour. We need to put it there so that it reaches a wide audience", Raut said according to Hindustan Times.## "My partner and the studio (T-Series) is the largest YouTube channel in the world. This film does require an audience that comes to cinema halls very rarely — primarily the senior citizen generation that doesn't come to cinemas or people from remote locations who don't have access to theaters".## "We need those people to come and see the film because it's Ramayana... We need to reach a wider audience and get them excited. So, as I said, I was not surprised because it's not made for the smaller screen.
