In a nail-biting finish of a thriller between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians at Chinnaswamy stadium, Bangalore on 28th March saw Indians win the match despite de Villiers fighting knock of 70* off 41 balls. But the result could have been different if there wasn't an umpiring error that cost RCB match.## With RCB needed 7 runs off the last ball, Malinga ended overstepping which was not picked by the on-field umpire S Ravi. It was showed on the giant screen only after the players shook hands post the game. After watching the incident on the big screen, Virat Kohli could not stop himself but to criticize the umpire S Ravi in the post-match presentation ceremony.## "We are playing at the IPL level and not playing club cricket. The umpires should have had their eyes open. That is a ridiculous call at the last ball. If it is a game of margins, I don't know what is happening. They should have been more sharp and careful out there," said Kohli.## Mumbai Indians went on to win the match by 5-runs as Shivam Dube could only gather a single off the last ball. But skipper Rohit Sharma to criticize the umpire as he didn't seem to be happy with the standard of umpiring at the big level.## "I just got to know when we crossed the rope. Somebody just told me it was a no-ball. These kind of mistakes are not good for the game of cricket, it's pretty simple, the over before that. Bumrah bowled a ball which wasn't a wide ball. How many batsmen are there or you know who can hit Jasprit Bumrah with ease? You might be scratching your head and still thinking about those batsmen but let me tell you that there is probably no one or maybe a few who can do wonder against Bumrah and if you know such batsmen then add Rishabh Pant also in that list. After his knock against MI and the way he played against Bumrah, there is no doubt left why he shouldn't be in that list.## Pant has played a blinder and in that process, he took world's best bowler apart. Though he could score only 18 off 7 balls off Bumrah, the way he smashed him, speaks loud about the immense talent he has. It was all about hitting the ball and he did better than anyone else against the best in the business in the limited overs cricket.## The 21-year old has started the IPL 2019 season from where he left in 2018. He took just 27 balls to dismantle the MI's bowling in their own den. He purposefully hitting the ball out of the park with such ease and Mumbai Indians' bowlers have the no answers of his unorthodox batting. They actually couldn't do anything in the way Pant was assaulting them.## "I always bat according to the situation all the time. Today when I came in, I had to up the ante and so took my chances. It was probably the shot of the evening. Even Bumrah couldn't believe that he has dispatched into the stands.## A ball's later, he got his fifty with a boundary and till, by that time, the Wankhede stadium has already witnessed one of the best T20 knocks ever. But Pant didn't stop there and took on helpless Rasikh Salam who was playing his first match, for 6, 6, 4 in the 19th over. Mumbai Indians have been knocked out from the IPL 2018 after they lost to Delhi Daredevils by 11 runs at Firoz Shah Kotla stadium, Delhi on Sunday (May 20). Delhi Daredevils, led by Amith Mishra's 3 for 19 restricted Mumbai Indians on 163 after Rishabh Pant's sixth fifty of this season helped DD to post a big total of 174.## How DD reached to 174## After winning the toss, DD had opted to bat first. Opener Prithvi Shaw and Glenn Maxwell gave a decent start by adding 30-runs for the first wicket in 3 overs before Shaw run out himself with a lazy stuff. Maxwell also after scoring 22 off 18 balls fell in next over as Jasprit Bumrah bowled him out. After that Rishabh Pant (Orange Cap holder) takes on Mumbai Indians' bowlers and hit them all around the park. In this process, he reached to his sixth fifty of this season off just 31 balls. But before that, he put on a 37-run stand with skipper Shreyas Iyer for the third wicket.## After losing 3 wickets on 75 after 9 overs, Vijay Shankar joined the party with Pant and added 64 runs off 47 balls for the fourth wicket. Pant takes on Hardik Pandya after reaching to his half-century and hit 2 sixes and a four in 16th over of the innings. However, after scoring 64, Krunal Pandya got him out at long on where Pollard was ready to catch it. Evin Lewis takes on Harshal Patel in fourth over by hitting 2 fours and a six. He followed this momentum in next over where he hit 2 sixes and a four to Maxwell. Mumbai Indians scored 57 runs in first six overs. Both Lewis and Ishan Kishan added 45 for the second wicket in which Kishan's contribution was only 5 runs.## Middle order collapsed hurt MI badly## Some exceptional bowling from Amit Mishra and Young Sandeep Lamichhane was the reason behind MI's 11 runs defeat. First Amit Mishra got Ishan Kishan out on 57. Before Mumbai Indians could recover from Ishan's wicket, Mishra gave them another big blow by dismissing Lewis on 74. Lewis scored 48 off 31 balls including 3 fours and 4 sixes. After that, it was Lamichhane who put Mumbai completely on the back foot by dismissing Pollard and Krunal in same over. Mumbai Indians, after this win move up to number 4 in points table.## Tye ruined MI's flying start## It was Kings XI Punjab, who had won the toss and put Mumbai Indians to bat first. MI got off to flying start as Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan's early assault against Mohit Sharma and Ankit Rajpoot gave MI a solid start before Andrew Tye put them on to back foot. He was introduced in fourth over and dismissed Evin Lewis on the very first ball. After that he dismissed both Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan in back to back balls in his second over and reduced MI from 37 for no loss to 59 for 3.## He added one more wicket to his name as he got Hardik Pandya later in the innings and finished his spell with an impressive figure of 4-0-16-4, where other bowlers were struggling to get wickets.## Pollard came to rescue MI## Kieron Pollard, who had been dropped in last few matches, brought back for the must-win game in place of JP Duminy. When he came out to bat, Mumbai Indians were struggling on 71 for 4 after 8.2 overs. He began slowly but once he got set, he went after Ankit Rajpoot, smashing him for a six and two boundaries before taking Stoinis in next over for 3 consecutive boundaries. He reached to his fifty off just 22-balls and added 65-runs off 36 balls with Krunal Pandya for the fifth wicket.## He dismissed right after his fifty but all of Tye's good work was undone by that time. Krunal Pandya scored 32 runs and crucial runs from the lower order helped MI to finished with 186 for 8 after 20 overs.## Openers provided solid start before Rahul and Finch set up the innings## To chased down 187, Kings XI Punjab were hoping a good solid start from the openers knowing that their middle order wasn't in good form. Rajasthan Royals chased down this target comfortably in the end with two overs to spare. Thanks to Jos Buttler's an unbeaten 94 off 53 balls including 9 fours and 5 sixes.## Where did MI let this match slipped from their hands## After first 10 overs. This has been the story so far. They wasted the start provided by their openers. After putting to bat first, Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis put on a 87-run stand for the first wicket before they collapsed in middle overs. losing Suryakumar Yadav after scoring 38 off 31 balls, MI lost big wicket on very next ball as Rohit Sharma gone on golden duck. Mumbai Indians, after disappointing first half in this IPL, back to win third consecutive match as they beat Kolkata Knight Riders by big margin of 102-runs at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Wednesday (May 9). With the help of this win MI moved up to number 4 for the first time in this IPL.## It was the must-win game for Mumbai Indians to stay alive in this tournament and they won it with the bang. MI posted 210 runs on board after sizzling knock of 62 off 21 balls by Ishan Kishan. And then MI's bowlers did the job by bowled out KKR on 108 in 18.1 overs. Ishan Kishan awarded Man Of The Match for his sensational knock.## Ishan Kishan show at the Eden Gardens## After winning the toss, KKR invited MI to bat first. MI started well and put on a 47-run for the first wicket. However, Piyush Chawla got two wickets in two successive overs and left MI to 62 for 2 after 9 overs. Then it was all Ishan Kishan show at Kolkata. He started his innings with a six to Kuldeep Yadav only on second ball he faced. He followed the six with three boundaries to Chawla in next over. Later in the innings, Ben Cutting's quickfire cameo of 24 off 19 balls help MI to reach to 210 after 20 overs.## Too much reliance on spinners, let down KKR## Spinners have always been the strength of KKR. But in this match, they were taken all-around the park. However, their ever-reliable Sunil Narine bowled a decent spell of 4 overs 1 for 27 but other two had a horrible night with the ball. First Ishan Kishan took on Kuldeep for 5 sixes of his balls and then Ben Cutting came hard on Chawla in last over of the innings in which MI scored 22 runs.
