Rajasthan Royals, after playing tough few matches in the middle, back to winning streak with back to back wins. However, the scene could have been different if they didn't play with Buttler on top. ## But as it is said "better late than before". They finally found their right combination up the batting order. After promoted Buttler as an opener, Rajasthan Royals won two out of four matches they played. Royals move up to number six in the points table with 10 points in 11 matches.## Jos Buttler has been outstanding after promoted as an opener. In last four matches, he has scored 67(26), 51(39), 82(58), 95*(60). These scores are enough to prove that RR missed a trick by not promoting him up the order.## However, it was not all that easy for Buttler after tough he had played before. But he adapted himself with the role he had given after. Buttler is the perfect man RR in first 6 overs where he can make full use of field restriction. He always provided flying start to Rajasthan Royals in those matches.## However, his latest knock against the Chennai Super Kings was arguably the best among the lot given that it had several fluctuations as the situation demanded, and him coming out in triumph each time. After restricted CSK to 176, Buttler single-handedly guided RR home with one ball to spare.## Chennai Super Kings rides on Suresh Raina's 52 off 35 balls and Dhoni's unbeaten 33 off 23 balls to reach 176 after 20 overs.##Buttler strikes again## After putting 176 on a pitch which was on the slower side, CSK found themselves favorites to win this match. However, Buttler had some other idea. He provided RR a flying start despite losing two wickets in powerplay where RR scored 57 runs. He started with back to back three boundaries to David Willey on first 3 balls of the match. He followed this with 2 fours and a six to Harbhajan Singh in next over. RR lost the first wicket on 48 as Ben Stokes was dismissed by Harbhajan Singh after hitting a four and six in previous two balls. However, Ajinkya Rahane's poor form continued in this game as well as he was dismissed by Jadeja after hitting the boundary on the previous ball.## Buttler kept playing his shots and reached to his fourth successive fifty off just 26 balls. With this win, Royals found themselves on sitting 6th spot in points table.##Royals Ride on Jos Buttler's third consecutive fifty-plus score and set a target of 159 for KXIP. Rahul was the lone warrior in runs chase but his effort didn't prove enough to get his team through to the line.## Jos Buttler- Better late than never## It was out of thinking to send Buttler middle in the batting order in first seven matches as it was not helping RR at all. However, they soon realized their mistake and promoted him up as a opener. And since then he has scored 67, 51, and 82 in last three matches.##In this match, he led Royals to just about par score with 82 off 58 balls. He was the one who took full advantage of powerplay. In first six overs, RR scored 63 runs for the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane and Karishanppa Gowtham. After that he put on a 53-run stand off 48 balls with Sanju Samson, who made 22 off 18 balls and was the second highest scorer for Royals. Buttler was dropped on 79 by Akshdeep Nath but he couldn't capitalize that drop and got stumped out to Mujeeb Ur Rahaman three runs later. He took the responsibility when Chris Gayle couldn't fire in this match. KXIP lost Gayle and Mayank Agarwal on 29 in the fifth over. That was the time when Punjab needed Rahul to play through the innings. He put on a 50-run partnership with Karun Nair before Nair bowled out by Anureet Singh. Nair made 31 off 23 balls. KXIP promoted Axer Patel at no. 5 but this move didn't work for Punjab as Patel could only manage 4 off 5 balls before Krishnappa Gowtham got him out. Rahul needed a partner who could play along with him and he found it in Marcus Stoinis. The duo of Rahul and Stoinis put on an unbeaten 68-runs stand for the fifth wicket. Under the pump, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant's cameos gave the hosts a commanding 196 for 6 in 17.1 overs, before rain struck again. DD couldn't start well as Munro gone off first ball he faced. Munro's wicket brought Iyer on crease. Him and Shaw put on a 73-run stand off 40 balls. With 58 runs needed in 6 overs, Royals thought they were favorites to win.##But then twist came into play. Mumbai Indians pulled things back by getting wickets of Stokes, Samson, Buttler, and Klaasen in space of 15 runs. Inspired by Hardik Pandya, who ended Stokes fireworks with a yorker fired on the leg stump. Then it was ever reliable Jasprit Bumrah, who grabbed two back to back wickets of Samson and Buttler in 17th over. With 43 runs needed in 3 overs, MI had momentum but Gowtham had some other plans. The win over RR, helped CSK to move on top of the points table while RR slipped to fifth place.## This might not be had happened if Rahul Tripathi didn't drop Shane Watson in first slip off Stuart Binny on 8 in first over of the innings. It was a regulation chance and came at a nice height to Tripathi but he couldn't hold it. The drop proved to be the turning point of the match as Shane Watson add 98 more runs to that drop.## It was Ajinkya Rahane, who won the toss and elected to bowl first. CSK came off to a flier as they reached their fifty in 4.3 overs before Ambati Rayudu got out to Ben Laughlin. He made 12 off 8 balls.
