Los Angeles, March 3 - The 97th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), was held on March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The Oscars presented in 23 categories, honouring films released in 2024. ## Director Sean Baker's romantic comedy-drama Anora came out on top in this year's Oscar, taking home 5 awards including Best Picture. Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi epic Dune: Part 2 also continued its good run in awards, grabbing two Oscars in the 97th edition. ## Meanwhile, actress Zoe Saldaña, featured in some of the biggest hits in history, finally won an Oscar in the Supporting Actress category for the film Emilia Pérez. Mumbai, March 2 - Chinese mega-blockbuster Ne Zha 2 has done the unthinkable by topping $2 billion at the worldwide box office, becoming the first animated title of all time to achieve this milestone.## The fantasy adventure has taken just 33 days since its release in China on January 29 to hit the $2 billion mark, joining six other films in this prestigious box office club. Of $2 billion, the sequel has grossed $1.96 billion in China alone which is already the biggest total ever in a single market.## In its box office journey so far, Ne Zha 2 has consistently delivered the biggest single-day collections of all time. Made on a budget of $80 million, the film is showing no sign of slowing down and is very much on course to break more records in days to come. ## Ne Zha 2 is certain to finish among the top 5 biggest grossers in the worldwide box office history. It will next outgross Avengers: Infinity War ($2.04 billion) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.06 billion) in the next few days, and then, will need to see how far it can go. ## As said, Ne Zha 2 is only the seventh film to cross the $2 billion mark globally. Mumbai, March 2 - Maddock Films' historical action drama Chhaava heads for a record third weekend at the Hindi box office after the biggest Saturday ever.## The Vicky Kaushal-fronted, with approximately 22 crores net collection, has beaten the mighty Pushpa 2 - The Rule (20 crores net) on the third Saturday to record the biggest third Saturday in Hindi. Earlier, the film had also scored the biggest 3rd Friday beating the same film. ## The third weekend of Chhaava is heading for 60+ crores net which will be the biggest ever in Hindi. Meanwhile, the total collection of the film through Saturday is approximately 434.50 crores or 519.50 crores gross. This makes it the first film of 2025 to surpass 500 crores gross at the Indian box office. ## Chhaava is the first 500 crores domestic grosser of Vicky Kaushal and director Laxman Utekar and the third for actress Rashmika Mandanna after Pushpa 2 and Animal. Mumbai, March 2 - Bollywood actor star Tiger Shroff will next be seen in producer Sajid Nadiadwala's action thriller Baaghi 4. The film is being directed by Kannada director A. Harsha and the shoot for the same is progressing at a brisk pace. ## On the occasion of Tiger's birthday on March 2, the makers unveiled a new intense film poster featuring the actor with an intriguing tagline - "This time he is not the same". The poster shows Tiger's half-blood-soaked face while smoking a cigarette. ## Each poster of the film released so far indicates a more darker and intense tone of the film which is the 4th instalment of the blockbuster franchise. Mumbai, March 1 - The Bollywood film industry has delivered some of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time over the last few years but it was Pushpa 2 - The Rule, a Telugu-origin Pan India tentpole, which came as a tsunami to sweep the homeland of Hindi film industry, Maharashtra. ## The Allu Arjun-fronted action drama not only emerged as the biggest grosser ever in Maharashtra but also went on to become the all-time Hindi grosser, beating the original Hindi titles. It was a big win for the overall Indian film industry but at the same time, it became a mountain to climb for Hindi cinema. ## Well, two months later, one of the two aforementioned mighty records has been shattered by an original Hindi title named Chhaava, which was, interestingly, supposed to clash with Pushpa 2 originally before the better sense prevailed for the larger good. ## In a historical feat, Chhaava has outgrossed the lifetime total of Pushpa 2 in Maharashtra in just 15 days to reign supreme in the homeland. According to the tracked numbers, Chhaava has grossed 223+ crores in 15 days while Pushpa 2 had minted 216+ crores gross in its lifetime run in the state. ## This is an extraordinary achievement, something which was anticipated given the fact how dear the story of one of the greatest Maratha warriors Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj to the people of the state. Mumbai, March 1 - The blockbuster historical action drama Chhaava has beaten the mighty Pushpa 2 - The Rule on its third Friday at the Hindi box office. The Vicky Kaushal-fronted has also topped 400 crores net collection, becoming the 9th Hindi film ever to do so. ## The Allu Arjun-fronted action drama Pushpa 2 scored 11.30 crores net collection in December last year which was the biggest third Friday in Hindi before Chhaava outnumbered it with an estimated total of around 13 crores net which is now the biggest 3rd Friday box office collection in Hindi. ## Pushpa 2 went on to score around 58 crores net in the third weekend in Hindi. It needs to be seen how Chaava fairs on Saturday and Sunday but it is certain to come close and might beat Pushpa 2 to emerge the biggest third weekend grosser. ## The total collection of Chhaava is around 412 crores net through the third Friday (15 days), on the other hand, Pushpa 2 was miles ahead with 621 crores net in the same number of days. In another historic achievement, Chhaava (223+ crores gross) has beaten Pushpa 2's lifetime total (215+ crores gross) in Maharashtra in just 15 days to become the number 1 grosser in the state (note - tracked gross).## Interestingly, both the films were originally supposed to clash at the box office on December 5 before Maddock postponed Chhaava and the decision turned out to be a historic move. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, February 28 - The teaser of superstar Salman Khan-fronted action drama Sikandar has taken the internet by storm with huge viewership across social media platforms. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the teaser was launched on February 27 ahead of the film's Eid release.## According to the makers, the teaser of Sikandar has generated 65+ million views across social media platforms in the first 24 hours. Chennai, February 28 - The Tamil film industry has its first Blockbuster in the form of a coming-of-age comedy-drama Dragon. The film is headlined by the rising Tamil star Pradeep Ranganathan who has also written the script with Ashwath Marimuthu. ## Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, Dragon has completed its first week, grossing approximately 77.50 crores at the worldwide box office. This already makes it the second highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2025, behind only Ajith Kumar's Vidaamuyarchi (136 crores gross). ## Released on February 21, Dragon opened to super positive reviews and reception from the audience which led to the biggest opening for the actor with double-digit numbers worldwide. The movie showed impressive growth over the weekend and remained rock solid during the weekdays to put up huge box office numbers. ## In India, the film has grossed approximately 58 crores, including over 39.50 crores in Tamil Nadu alone.
