Hyderabad, October 17 - The last couple of weeks have been quite challenging for actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who recently announced her separation from Naga Chaitanya and also dealing with social media trolling. However, as they say, the show must go on, the actress has activated her work mode on and signed two Tamil-Telugu bilingual films. ## The announcements of the two films she has signed were made on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra (October 15). Out of the two films, one is with debutant Shantaruban Gnanasekharan. The movie, which is touted to be a breezy and different type of love story, will be backed by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures. ## The second film is said to be a content-driven one, which will be directed by Hari Shankar and Hareesh Narayan and produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad. The movie is slated to go on floors in November next month while the rest of the cast and crew are being finalized. ## Talking about the film, producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad said that it is a unique story penned by Hari Shankar and Hareesh Narayan, who will also be co-directing the film. While the actress received global appreciation for her act, she also came under serious criticism for portraying a Tamil rebellion called Razi in the Amazon Prime Video series. ## The Tamil Nadu government had urged the Centre to ban the show after the trailer was released. Tamil Nadu's IT Minister T Mano Thangaraj had written a letter that said that the series "not only hurt the sentiments of Eelam Tamils but also the feelings of the people of Tamil Nadu". The actress faced accusations for negatively portraying the Tamil Eelam.## However, after the show was released, many people changed their mind and appreciate Samantha for playing that role. Melbourne, August 20, 2021: The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) announced its winners for its 12th edition, which was held virtually on August 20 (Friday). This year's festival had a line-up of feature and short films from across India, representing the theme of diversity through cinema.## Pankaj Tripathi, who has been winning accolades for his versatility in films and web shows, was honored with the Diversity in Cinema Award presented by LaTrobe University. On winning the award, Pankaj Tripathi said, "This award is special for me, I'm humbled and it's really inspiring for me, my craft. The man who is here to give me this award, he is the one who discovered my talent. So thanks to Anurag Kashyap sir. He is the one who rediscovered my talent. I’m grateful to all my directors, writers for having me part of their projects". ## Tamil film Soorarai Pottru walked away with the Best Feature Film and Suriya won the Best Actor award for the same. Soorarai Pattru was released last year on Amazon Prime Video and has been winning accolades around the world since. It is also the highest-rated Indian movie on IMDb and the third-highest worldwide with a rating of 9.1. ## Suriya, on his part, thanked his fans and Soorarai Pottru director Sudha Kongara, saying, "I'm sure all the nominees have given their best.
