Mumbai, December 13 - Pushpa 2 starts the second weekend with a fantastic hold at the Hindi box office with the collection coming in more or less in the same range as yesterday, the second Thursday. In the first week, the movie minted around 425 crores net collection in Hindi.## According to the early estimates, Pushpa 2 has scored in the range of 26-27 crores on its second Friday/9th day in Hindi, pushing the total collection to over 450 crores net. The second weekend is probably heading for 100+ crores net with a drop of around 50% from the first Friday to Sunday weekend which is an excellent hold. ## As said, Pushpa 2 will enter the 500 crores net club by the second Sunday (11 days) and will become the fastest to achieve this feat, taking 7 fewer days than Jawan which is currently the fastest to do so in 18 days. Pushpa 2 is certain to beat Stree 2 (598 crores net), probably by next weekend to become the biggest Hindi grosser. ## Apart from Hindi, the Allu Arjun-fronted blockbuster action drama has a decent hold in Telugu states and the rest of the market as overall second Friday is estimated to gross in the range of 40 crores in all versions. This takes the total domestic gross to over 900 crores in just 9 days and it will break into the 1000 crores gross domestically by Sunday to become only the third movie ever to do so. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, December 13 - The hugely-anticipated film of director SS Rajamouli with superstar Mahesh Babu is gearing up to go on floors early next year. The pre-production of the film, tentatively called SSMB 29, is ongoing and the makers will officially announce the project soon. ## According to the latest report by Filmfare, the makers are in talks with India's global star Priyanka Chopra to come on board to play the female lead. The actress hasn't done an Indian movie since The Sky Is Pink (2019), but SSMB 29 can be her mega comeback to the Indian cinema if the report is true. ## While there haven't been any official words from the makers yet, the movie has been making buzz for quite some time with its casting. It is said that Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran will be playing the antagonist role in this mega project Pan India world movie and rumours are that it will also have international actors playing prominent parts.## SSMB 29, which was hyped as a globe-trotting action adventure by SS Rajamouli, is one of the most ambitious films in the making with a rumoured budget of 1000 crores. Hyderabad, December 13 - In a shocking turn of events, superstar Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday in a case related to a stampede at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad where a woman died. This happened when the premiere of the actor's Pushpa 2 - The Rule was held and was attended by Allu Arjun and family on December 4. ## Now, according to the latest media reports, the bail of Allu Arjun has been rejected and sent to 14-dau judicial custody by a local court in Telangana in the case in which the deceased son was also injured and undergoing treatment. The actor has moved the Telangana High Court for urgent relief.## Earlier in the day, a police team, headed by the assistant commissioner, arrived at Arjun's home to take him into custody whilst his family members were present. The authorities escorted him to their vehicle before transporting him to the police station. ## Meanwhile, industry people have come in support of the actor, including Bollywood star Varun Dhawan who believes that Allu Arjun was not at all fault in that unfortunate case and that it was the responsibility of the authorities to handle the situation. ## It has also been reported that Sandhya Theater owners had resorted to police protection to handle the crowd during the premiere of the film but it wasn't provided. ## Stay tuned...

Hyderabad, December 13 - Superstar Allu Arjun's mega-blockbuster Pushpa 2 - The Rule has beaten Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD to become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024. Both movies have grossed over 1000 crores worldwide and are the only Indian films of the year to do so. ## Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 has grossed approximately 1060 crores globally, including 867 crores gross in India, in its extended 8-day first weekend, surpassing the lifetime total of Kalki which minted approximately 1042 crores gross, including 767 crores gross domestically. Overseas, Kalki is still the biggest Indian grosser with 275 crores gross. ## Pushpa 2 has also beaten Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan (1055 crores gross) to become the 6th highest-grossing Indian movie of all time at the worldwide box office. It will outgross SRK's Jawan (1160 crores) and possibly KGF: Chapter 2 (1215 crores gross) and RRR (1230 crores gross) this weekend to become the 3rd biggest Indian grosser ever.## Aamir Khan's Dangal (2070 crores gross) and Prabhas' Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion (1788 crores gross) are currently the top 2 highest-grossing Indian movies at the worldwide box office. Mumbai, December 13 - Yash Raj Films has officially announced the third instalment of Rani Mukerji-led action thriller franchise Mardaani. The actress will return to reprise her role as SP Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3 which is expected to be more dark and brutal. ## Abhiraj Minawala, who has worked as the second unit assistant director in films like Tiger 3, and Sultan, will be making his debut as a director with this upcoming movie that is scheduled for a 2026 release worldwide. ## Mardaani is the first female-led film franchise to have a trilogy. Hyderabad, December 12 - Pushpa 2 has completed the first extended 8-day week with over 400 crores net at the Hindi box office, becoming the first ever film to achieve this feat in the first week. The movie once again has a fantastic hold to finish the week on high. ## According to the early estimates, Pushpa 2 minted in the range of 27-28+ crores net collection in Hindi on its second Thursday (8th day), dropping around 10% from Wednesday, a sensational hold. The total Hindi film collection is now around 425 crores net after 8 days. ## As said, Pushpa 2 will enter the 500 crores net club by the end of the second weekend itself to become the fastest to do so. It is now certain to become the biggest Hindi grosser of all time and has a chance to break into uncharted territory at the box office. ## In Telugu states, Pushpa 2 is expected to gross 7.50-8.50 crores, followed by around 2.50 crores gross in Karnataka, and 2.75 crores in Tamil Nadu and Kerala on its second Thursday. Mumbai, December 12 - Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and superstar Prabhas are teaming up for the first time for an action thriller film titled Spirit. It is one of the most anticipated Indian movies in the making and will show Prabhas playing the role of a cop for the first time in his career.## The shoot of Spirit is expected to kick off early next year, and ahead of the production commencement, a short synopsis of the film has seemingly been revealed. According to Letterboxd, Spirit is about "A disgraced cop, determined to regain his job, hunts down a ruthless international crime syndicate".## Interestingly, during the promotion of Animal (2023), Sandeep Reddy Vanga revealed that the protagonist in Spirit comes from a middle-class background, in contrast to both Animal and Arjun Reddy (2017), where the male leads belonged to wealthy families. He stated that the movie is about a sincere cop.## Given the track record of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's filmography, Spirit seems going to be another A-rated film with so much violence. Mumbai, December 12 - Former Miss Universe Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Tiger Shroff-fronted Baaghi 4. Harnaaz won the Miss Universe title on this same day in 2021 and to make it more memorable, the makers have officially confirmed her on board the film. ## Harnaaz, who has starred in a couple of Punjabi films, has been paired opposite Tiger in the fourth instalment of this action thriller franchise, directed by Kannada director A Harsha. Sajid Nadiadwala produces Baaghi 4 under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. ## Earlier, the makers signed on Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa to play one of the female leads while Sanjay Dutt was confirmed to play the antagonist role. Mumbai, December 11 - Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule has completed its first week (7 days) with the record-breaking collection. The movie has performed exceptionally well throughout the week and has another solid hold on its first Wednesday in Hindi and other versions. ## The movie is having an insane hold in Hindi despite the record-shattering day-wise collection. On Wednesday, Pushpa 2 is witnessing a drop of just 15%-20% for an estimated 29-31 crores net, pushing total Hindi collection to around 397+ crores net in just 7 days. ## The extended opening week of the film is heading towards 420 crores net (+/-) and it looks like will break into the 500 crores club during the second weekend only in a record time and may become the biggest Hindi grosser by the third weekend which looks a serious possibility at this point. ## In Telugu states, Pushpa 2 continues to have a decent hold as it scored another 8-9 crores gross on Wednesday, followed by 4-5 crores gross in Karnataka, and around 3 crores gross in Tamil Nadu and Karela. The movie achieved this milestone in just 7 days, becoming the fastest Indian title to do so. ## Directed by Sukumar, the box office carnage of Pushpa 2 began with a record-breaking opening of over 275 crores gross worldwide, and this juggernaut remained unchallenged throughout the weekend and beyond to go past Rs. 10 billion before the extended first-week ends. ## Pushpa 2 scored approximately 950 crores gross, including around 770 crores gross in India in the first 6 days. Hyderabad, December 11 - Veteran Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Seenu are reuniting for the fourth time for the sequel to their big box office blockbuster Akhanda. The movie was officially announced in October this year and now, the makers have dropped a major update. ## On Wednesday (December 11), the makers officially announced that the shoot of Akhanda 2 - Thaandavam has commenced today in Hyderabad and the film has been locked to be released on Thursday, September 25, 2025, during the pre-Dussehra weekend. ## The release date was announced with a teaser promo which has S Thaman's electrifying music. First, the film's announcement and now, the release date confirmation have raised curiosity among the audience. Produced by Raam Achanta, and Gopi Achanta under the banner of 14 Reels Plus, Akhanda 2 will have a pan-India release in multiple languages.## The first Akhanda was released in December 2021 and emerged as Balakrishna's first 100 crores grosser at the worldwide box office, scoring 117 crores gross collection.
