Mumbai, December 7 - Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is still 10 days away from its worldwide release but it is already giving pre-covid level vibes as far as box office is a concern. The Tom Holland-led third MCU "Spider-Man" flick is beating all the expectations and creating pre-sales records in several key markets. ## As reported previously, "No Way Home's" huge demand caused crashes of the ticketing websites in the US and some of the markets. The Jon Watts-directed installment has set all-time records in multiple markets for the first 24 hours, for example, it broked pre-sales records in the US within 2 hours of opening tickets for sale.## "Spider-Man: No Way Home" reportedly has already sold around $60M in pre-sales tickets in the domestic market (North America). According to Box Office Pro, the film is tracking to open between $190M and $240M over the opening domestic weekend, including $40 million on the first day, without previews. The latest projection has improved significantly as compared to the previous one, which predicated an opening of $135M-$185M.## The superhero film is looking equally strong in overseas markets. According to Deadline, Brazil's advances are 5% over Avengers: Endgame at the same point; Poland is showing the best presales since Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker; Portugal passed No Time To Die's total presales in three days, and Australia and Turkey are on par with Endgame.## In Mexico, the movie generated $7 million during the first 24 hours tickets were available last week. That's a new milestone, coming in 40% above Avengers: Endgame. With international developments, "No Way Home" might even manage a $250M opening outside the US, taking the worldwide start of a potential $500M, that too without China, Japan, and various other key markets. ## In India, "No Way Home" debuts on December 16, and with strong buzz around, it is set to go bonkers at the box office. It will challenge the domestic biggie, "Pushpa: The Rise", featuring Telugu superstar Allu Arjun. Mumbai, December 5 - Sony Pictures' next superhero movie, "Morbius" based on the Marvel Comics character Morbius, the Living Vampire, is gearing up for January 2022 release in theaters. Starring Jared Leto in the title role, "Morbius" will be released on January 28, 2022, in India in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. ## Sony India took to Twitter on Sunday and released the new poster with a release date. Scheduled to release on December 17 in the USA, the advance booking for the 3rd MCU Spider-Man film was opened on Monday, and the crazy demand literally crashed the ticketing websites within minutes. ## As per reports, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" advance booking for the first day is already the highest since "Avengers: Endgame" (2019). Los Angeles, November 29 - Spider-Man movie series is going to have a long run in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). There were speculations that the upcoming Tom Holland's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" will be the end of the trilogy in the MCU, however, that is not the case anymore.## Sony's Spider-Man movie producer Amy Pascal tells Fandango that there are plans for at least three more Spider-Man movies. Holland is returning for at least the next movie.## "This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie," Pascal revealed. "We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We're thinking of this as three films, and now we're going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies", said Pascal. ## Spider-Man: No Way Home is a multiversal adventure, meaning Spider-Man's cinematic future could take any form. Los Angeles, November 29 - Tom Holland's third MCU Spider-Man film, "No Way Home" is poised to become the biggest worldwide blockbuster of 2021. While the buzz was already there, the first real indication of its huge demand was experienced when the ticketing websites got crashed partially, minutes after "No Way Home" ticket sales were opened in North America on Monday morning. ## Within minutes, the ticket-selling platforms for AMC, Regal, and Fandango were all momentarily taken offline, and the Alamo Drafthouse website followed shortly thereafter. Los Angeles, November 14 - Yet another outright theatrical title has achieved a box office milestone during the covid-19 pandemic. Sony Pictures' "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" has become the second Hollywood film, after Marvel Studios' "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings", to go past $200 million at the domestic box office during the health crisis. ## "Venom 2", which stars Tom Hardy in the title role, may not cross "Shang-Chi's" box office record, but it is a great box office milestone, Sony will celebrate. The superhero movie was always meant for theatrical release, and despite other studios were opting for day-and-date release on streamers and in theaters, Sony stuck to the old proven way to release the film and got the result they had wished for. ## Overseas, "Venom 2" is going strong and will cross $430 million by the end of Sunday (November 14). While "Venom 2" is way behind "Venom" (2018) in terms of box office numbers, this is also a fact that the sequel is yet to get a release date in China, where the 2018 film had minted a whopping $269 million, for its $856 million worldwide gross. ## "Venom 2" was originally set for Sept. 17 release but was pushed by a week on Sept. 24 and then Oct. 15 against Universal/Blumhouse/Miramax’s Halloween Kills. All of this changed, with Venom 2 heading to the first weekend of October after Shang-Chi put up fantastic business over Labor Day weekend with a $94.6M 4-day, $75.3M 3-day.## Despite the last-minute change, "Venom 2" opened to the pandemic best over 3-days with $90M. Even better, it was the second-best opening stateside for October title, behind 2019's Joker ($96.2M). Los Angeles, November 10 - The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Phase 4 films seem to be completely different from what we have seen over the years in the previous Marvel movies. After "Eternals" different take on what the future holds for Marvel, the upcoming Spider-Man movie "No Way Home" also seems unlike from the previous Spidey movies. ## Tom Holland, who plays the WebSlinger in the film, spoke about the differences between the upcoming film and the other two entries in the Homecoming trilogy, in an interview with Total Film and said that the film is going to be dark and sad this time around. ## "What people will be really surprised about is that it's not fun, this film", Holland said. Los Angeles, November 5 - Sony's "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" has stormed past $400 million at the worldwide box office and becomes the fifth Hollywood film to achieve the milestone since the beginning of the pandemic. The collection includes $191.6M domestically and $212.5M at the international box office for an overall $404 million so far. ## The Tom Hardy-starrer took the biggest pandemic opening at the domestic box office, going on to a $90.1M opening weekend which is the second-best ever for the month of October. During that same weekend, it opened to $13.8 million in Russia, which is the best debut of any film during the health crisis, and Sony's biggest opening ever in the country. ## Among the top 5 overseas markets for "Venom: Let There Be Carnage", Russia leads with $31.4M followed by Mexico ($22M), the UK ($20.7M), Korea ($17.2M), and France ($10.8M) to date. In India, the movie grossed over Rs. 16 crores in the opening week. In other achievements, the Venom sequel is the second-biggest movie of the pandemic era in Mexico, Brazil, Italy, Colombia, Ukraine, Central America, Argentina, and Ecuador.## China, where "Venom" (2018) had grossed a whopping $269 million, is yet to set a release date for the sequel. Australia is the next major market where it is scheduled to debut on November 25, followed by Japan on December 3. Mumbai, October 23 - Sony Pictures is expanding its Marvel Universe and announced two new untitled Marvel films for the 2023 release. While the studio already has "Kraven the Hunter" for January 2023, it has also added release dates for unannounced projects on June 23, 2023, and October 6, 2023. ## While it is unclear when Sony intends to reveal what movies will fill those dates, fans have already started speculating that one of the two could be the third film in the Venom series. If the speculations are on spot, then the sequel to "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" might fill October 2023 release date as both Venom movies thus far have had October release dates. ## The third "Venom" movie is a no-brainer that it is going to be made in a live-action franchise featuring characters from the Spider-Man family, after "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" is going strong at the box worldwide. However, it will come out in October 2023, remains a secret yet. The June 2023 release date again remains the secret, and again the speculations are that it could be filled with the 4th Spidy movie in the MCU (pure rumors). ## Meanwhile, Sony has pushed Columbia Pictures' "A Journal for Jordan" to Dec. 25 of this year. Mumbai, October 18 - Sony Pictures' superhero film "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" has had a reasonably good first extended weekend at the Indian box office. The Tom Hardy starrer performed much better than some of the regional movies and earned Rs. 15.50 crores gross in all languages (Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu). ## Directed by Andy Serkis, "Venom 2" opened with Rs. 3.48 crore gross on Thursday and maintained the pace throughout the rest of the weekend with Rs. 3.77 crores on Friday, Rs. 3.45 crores on Saturday, and Rs. 3.50 crores on Sunday at the box office. The collection is without the biggest movie market in India, Maharashtra. ## "Venom 2" will debut in Maharashtra theaters on October 22 upon the reopening of cinemas in the state after almost 7 months in English and Hindi. The movie is expected to witness the jump after opening in Maharashtra including the economic capital city of India, Mumbai. ## On the worldwide front, "Venom 2" is nearing a $300 million hauls. The movie has had a brilliant run at the international box office in the past weekend and brought in $62.30 million, taking its total worldwide gross to $283.7 million, including $168 million at the North America box office.## "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" expanded to 44 international markets over past the weekend, including such major markets as Italy, Spain, South Korea, and India. Mumbai October 13 - Marvel/Sony made the Spider-Man fans wait a long time before releasing the first teaser/trailer of "No Way Home" on August 24, and once it was released, the response was so loud that it became the most viewed teaser/trailer in the world in 24-hours.## While we have seen the official trailer of "Spider-Man: No Way Home" the wait for the official "No Way Home" poster continues, and it's resulted in some movie theaters taking matters into their own hands. In the absence of an official poster of the upcoming Spider-Man movie, movie theater owners, who have high hopes from this Marvel film, are promoting the film using fan-made posters.## Several of these posters are drawing on the imagery of Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange working together, showing the wallcrawler leaping through the magical portals that the Sorcerer Supreme has employed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. ## Some other fan-made posters feature two other big-screen Spider-Men, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, standing alongside Holland's hero. Mumbai, October 6 - Sony Pictures Films India has announced a supernatural thriller film, which will be directed by Sabbir Khan (Heropanti, Baaghi, Nikamma). The film, which features Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Diana Penty, and Shreya Dhanwanthary in the leading roles along with Rohan Mehra, has been titled "Adbhut". ## The film marks Sabbir Khan's second collaboration with Nawazuddin Siddiqui after the 2017 action-dance film Munna Michael and with Sony India after his yet-to-be-released feature "Nikamma", starring Shilpa Shetty, Abhimanyu Dasani, and Shirley Setia in the lead roles. ## Scheduled to be released in 2022, "Adbhut" is backed and produced by Sony Pictures Films India in association with Sabbir Khan Films.
