Riteish Deshmukh, Sonakshi Sinha To Star In A Horror-Comedy Film Titled Kakuda; To Be Produced By Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Production

Mumbai, June 3, 2021: After the success of Stree, Bollywood seems to be looking for more opportunities in the horror-comedy genre for the last couple of years. After Stree and Roohi, there are few more films lined up in this genre with Bhool Bhulaiya 2, Bhediya, and now, there is one more film in this genre that goes on floors. ## Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies to bankroll a horror-comedy film with actors Riteish Deshmukh, and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles along with Saqib Saleem in a prominant role. The film is titled Kakuda and will be helmed by Marathi filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar. ## The shooting of the film begins on Tuesday in Mandawa, Rajasthan. Actors Tiger Shroff, Disha Patani Booked For Violating Lockdown Rules

Mumbai, June 3, 2021: Actors Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani have been booked under sections 188, 34 IPC by Bandra police station for violating lockdown rules. According to the police, the actors went out for a drive without a valid reason.## On Tuesday evening, the two were stopped by policemen on patrolling duty at Bandra Bandstand. Shroff is a resident of Bandra (West), the police said. FWICE Writes To Maharashtra CM Requesting Permission To Resume Work

Mumbai, June 1, 2021: The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) wrote a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday (May 31), requesting him to allow the resumption of work in the media and entertainment (M&E) industry.## Films and television shooting is currently on hold owing to the second wave of the Covid pandemic as the Maharasthra government has extended lockdown in the state for 15 more days. The FWICE wrote in the letter that the film body sent numerous requests regarding the resumption of work but nothing happened. ## "With reference to the subject matter, we would like to draw your attention to the numerous requests sent to you by the FWICE and the coordination committee regarding our request for resumption of work in the M&E Industry. However, none of our letters have been responded to by your good office and no decision has been taken on our requests", FWICE wrote in the letter signed by Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit, President BN Tiwari, Chief Advisor Sharad Shelar, General Secretary Ashok Dubey, and Treasurer Gangeshwar Shrivastav. ## "Sir, let us apprise you that there are lakhs of artists, workers, and technicians who are jobless for the past one and half years and that the only source of income for them is from the M&E Industry. This industry has been providing work to lakhs of hands and enabling their families to earn their daily bread. However, the lockdown of the Industry has impacted the lives of these daily wage workers who have absolutely no other source of income and are totally dependent on the work of the Industry". ## "The announcement of the extension of the lockdown for another 15 days shall really be a setback for these deprived set of artists, workers and technicians and also the economy of the Industry. Not only the workers but the producers are also affected badly with huge investments already made into the running projects which have been to a standstill due to the unfortunate lockdown". ## "We being the mother body of 32 different crafts of artists, workers, and technicians of the industry have been receiving numerous calls from our members regarding their difficult survival conditions and requesting us to start the work of the Industry", the letter read. ## The FWICE assured the government that all the rules and regulations of the Government shall be followed by each and every crew member and all necessary precautions shall be taken at each work location.## Stay tuned...

Producers Guild of India To Vaccinate Industry Members From June 1st

Mumbai, May 31, 2021: The Producers Guild of India (PGI), the association of Indian film, television, and digital content producers, on Monday, announced a vaccination drive for its members and associated production crews beginning from June 1.## According to a press release, the PGI said the members will be vaccinated over the multi-day drive to be held at Mehboob Studios in suburban Bandra. Through these camps, thousands of production house personnel and crews will be vaccinated. ## Siddharth Roy Kapur, President of the Producers Guild of India, said the initiative was key to getting the film industry back on its feet amid the coronavirus pandemic.## "An activity of such importance and magnitude cannot be carried out singlehandedly and we are extremely grateful for the support we have received to make this possible", Kapur said in a statement.## He also thanked the production banner "Excel Entertainment who played a pivotal role in securing the vaccines and Mehboob Productions who very generously offered complimentary use of the spacious Mehboob Studios".## "We are happy that we are able to provide this facility to our members, their employees, and the cast and crew of their productions as we work to get the industry back on its feet again in the weeks ahead," Kapur added.## Keeping the coronavirus situation in mind, the government of India allowed a vaccination drive for 18+ aged from May 1st. Yash Raj Films To Change The Title Of Akshay Kumar Starrer 'Prithviraj' After Facing Backlash From Karni Sena?

Mumbai, May 30, 2021: Yash Raj Films' ambitious film, Prithviraj is one of the highly-awaited films of the year. It stars Akshay Kumar as Prithviraj Chauhan along with Manushi Chhillar makes her Hindi film debut by playing his beloved wife Sanyogita. This movie is based on Prithviraj Raso, a Braj Bhasha epic poem by Chand Bardai about the life of Prithviraj Chauhan. ## Prithviraj was announced in March 2019 and was supposed to release on Diwali 2020, but due to the covid-19 pandemic, it was postponed as the shoot was yet to be completed. The shoot resumed in October 2020 at YRF Studios, and it is now scheduled to release in theatres on 5 November 2021 coinciding with Diwali. ## While the film has already been delayed by a year, the makers of Prithviraj, find themselves in the hot water because of the film's title. The Karni Sena - a Rajput organization, has raised an objection around the title of the film and demanded it to be changed to Prithviraj Chauhan's full name as a mark of respect to him. ## Filmmaker Surjeet Singh Rathore, President of the Youth Wing of the Karni Sena said, "How can they keep the title of the film as just 'Prithviraj' when the film is based on the great Prithviraj Chauhan? We want the title to be changed to his full name and give respect to him". ## The Karni Sena does not stop with just title change as they have other conditions too. They have demanded that the film has to be shown to them first before its release. Singh said, "If they don't listen to our advice they will have to face the consequences. What happened to Sanjay Leela Bhansali during 'Padmaavat', the makers of this film will have to be prepared for it, too". ## The movie is written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi who had completed the script for Prithviraj in 2010 but found no one to back the project until Yash Raj Films came to his rescue in 2018, to revive the film. Mumbai, May 27, 2021: Kamaal R Khan, who starred in the film Deshdrohi, put out a series of tweets on Wednesday alleging that the Bollywood actor Salman Khan has filed a defamation case against him for reviewing his recently released film, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. ## Now, DSK Legal - the official advocates for Mr. Salman Khan and Salman Khan Ventures have issued a statement regarding the matter. While the legal team of Salman accepts that they have sent a legal notice to KRK, it is not for reviewing Radhe but defaming the actor's image from the last several months just to draw his attention. ## "Mr. Kamaal R Khan, the Defendant, has put out a series of tweets and videos alleging that Mr. Salman Khan has sued him for defamation because the Defendant reviewed the film, Radhe. This is incorrect", their statement reads (according to Box Office Worldwide).## "The suit has been filed as the Defendant has been publishing and endorsing defamatory allegations, including that Mr. Salman Khan is corrupt, that he and his brand Being Human are involved in fraud, manipulation, and money laundering transactions. Defendant has been spreading malicious falsehoods and defaming Mr. Salman Khan consistently over several months, clearly with a view to draw attention to himself", the statement further stated. ## KRK, on May 25, shared the legal notice on the microblogging site, Twitter, and said that Salman sued him for reviewing his film. South Indian Actors Nassar And Satyadev Kancharana To Join The Cast of Akshay Kumar Led 'Ram Setu'; Shoot To Resume In June

Mumbai, May 27, 2021: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar will once again go back to his busy routine once the lockdown restrictions end in the Maharasthra state. ## As soon as the lockdown is lifted and shots allowed, the first movie to begin production of Akshay will his ambitious, Ram Setu, which also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha and Jacqueline Fernandez as the female lead. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, Ram Setu is an epic mythological adventure film. ## The filming of Ram Setu had already begun in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh towards the end of March this year before the deadly second wave of the covid-19 pandemic hit the country. However, things are stabilizing slowly as cases going down. According to reports, the makers are planning to resume the shoot of Ram Setu around June 20 with the hope that the second wave will die down by then. ## Meanwhile, South Indian actors, Nassar and Satyadev Kancharana, known professionally as Satya Dev have said to be been roped in to play key roles in the film. This will be the second film together for Akshay and veteran Nassar after Rowdy Rathore, while Satya Dev will be sharing screen space with AK for the first time. ## Akshay Kumar plays the role of an archaeologist, who is on the mission to prove if Ram Setu - a mythical bridge between ancient India and Sri Lanka, is a myth or reality. Mumbai, May 27, 2021: The rising star from Bollywood, Kartik Aaryan seems to be dealing with a lot of heat at the moment, which is resulting in only his loss. After receiving an ouster from Dharma Productions' "Dostana 2" over creative issues, the actor has now reportadly loses one more big title. ## According to Film Information, the Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor has shown the door from Red Chillies Entertainment's "Freddie", which was to be directed by Ajay Bahl (Section 375). The reason behind Kartik's omission from Shah Rukh Khan backed production, is said to be the same as Dharma Productions' Dostana 2.## Kartik reportadly wanted some changes in the script, after having approved of it while signing the film. Mumbai, May 25, 2021: Shah Rukh Khan's comeback movie, tentatively titled "Pathan" has been in media reports, even though the movie is yet to be officially announced. The movie marks the big-screen debut of SRK after more than 2 years. The movie is set to be made on a grand scale with Salman Khan also having a strong cameo role. The duo of SRK and Salman are reuniting after SRK's Zero, and Salman's entry in Pathan is reportadly planned through a helicopter scene. Akshay Kumar Issues Statement Regarding The Release Of His Upcoming Films Bell Bottom and Sooryavanshi

Mumbai, May 22, 2021: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi waiting for the release since March last year while his Bell Bottom is also completed.
