Akshay Kumar Hails Ahaan Pandey, Aneet Padda's Saiyaara: 'A Newcomers' Film Doing Well Is the Best Thing for Bollywood'

Mumbai, July 26 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has lauded the blockbuster success of Yash Raj Films' romantic drama Saiyaara, which features two newcomers, Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda. The movie, directed by Mohit Suri, has crossed 300 crores gross collection in 9 days, and is heading towards finishing over 500 crores gross. ## During a recent interview with Sonal Kalra of Hindustan Times, Akshay shared his thoughts on the movie and called it a watershed moment for the industry. "I think it's the best thing that has happened. For our Hindi film industry, it's a great moment that a film starring two newcomers—a new boy and a new girl—has succeeded," Akshay said. ## While he hasn't seen the film himself yet, Akshay mentioned that his cousin had recently watched Saiyaara and was thoroughly impressed by the performances. "They said both the leads are amazing. Sacchi keh raha hoon — it is such a good thing," he added. ## Saiyaara's success has come without the face value as it features unknown actors, and the Housefull star emphasised the same by calling it a positive sign for the industry, especially after a turbulent few years marked by underwhelming box office performance. ## "Films are slowly starting to do well again... It's a good sign that a newcomers' film is performing so well,” he said, while also praising director Mohit Suri, who has long been known for his knack for emotional storytelling and unforgettable music. "He's done an excellent job, and his song choices are truly amazing." ## Akshay Kumar, who has had a good year so far and will next be seen in the highly-awaited Jolly LLB 3, ended up saying that "Saiyaara is more than a box office hit - it's a sign of Bollywood's revival, led by the next generation", which is something many have been saying since the day the movie was released. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: 'Saiyaara' Second Friday (Day 8) Early Estimates; Ahaan Pandey, Aneet Padda-starrer Stays Rock Solid

Mumbai, July 25 - After an exceptional first week total of over 170 crores net, Yash Raj Films' romantic drama Saiyaara has begun its second weekend on a blockbuster note. The Mohit Suri directorial continues its dream run with a rock-steady hold at the domestic box office, setting the stage for another big weekend. ## Starring debutante Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, the film has shown remarkable consistency so far. Early estimates suggest a collection in the range of 17.50–18.50 crores net on its second Friday, showing a minimal drop from yesterday. With this, Saiyaara's 8-day total stands at approximately 190 crores net. ## With less competition at the Hindi box office, Saiyaara is headed for the second weekend collection in the 70 crore net (+/-) range, which would be a record for a romantic drama and one of the biggest second weekends ever. The movie is expected to have a drop of just 15–20%, which is a remarkable hold. ## Even though it wouldn't have mattered much with the kind of phenomena Saiyaara has turned into, one of the major factors in the film's sustained momentum is the lack of competition, particularly in the Hindi-speaking belt, where the film is dominating single screens and multiplexes alike. And this is expected to continue, at least, till August 1st. ## Saiyaara is set to cross 200 crores net by Saturday, and if the momentum holds, it has an outside chance of touching the 250 crore net mark by the end of its second weekend — a monumental benchmark for a film led by fresh faces. ## Stay tuned...

War 2 Trailer: Hrithi Roshan, Jr. NTR-starrer To Continue A Blockbuster Box Office Streak For Yash Raj Films?

Mumbai, July 25 - Yash Raj Films its first blockbuster outside Spy Universe in many years with director Mohit Suri's romantic drama Saiyaara, featuring debutantes Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda. The film has completed its first week with a worldwide gross collection of around 250 crores. ## While Saiyaara is expected to continue to dominate the box office in the coming days, YRF is aiming to stretch this blockbuster streak with the next film in the Spy Universe, War 2. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani, the film's trailer was launched on July 25, and this suggests a potential blockbuster in hand for the studio. ## The War 2 trailer shows a refreshingly different take on the Spy Universe. Instead of fighting terrorists across the border, War 2 will focus on the internal battle between R.A.W. and its former agent, who went rogue while still keeping his love for the nation. ## The film features Jr. NTR, a special unit officer, who has been tasked to hunt down Major Kabir Dhaliwal (Hrithik). Both soldiers have no choice but to fight for one cause: India. The trailer seems to have worked big time, as the initial reception is unanimously positive. ## War 2 - A Box Office Juggernaut Loading? ## War 2 has already been one of the most anticipated Indian films of the year, and the trailer will boost the hype further. Trade analysts are highly bullish on the film's box office prospects. Early projections suggest that War 2 is on track for a massive opening weekend, especially in the Hindi and Telugu belts, where both lead actors enjoy immense star power. ## Given the combination of a star-studded cast, slick action, and a strong franchise tag, War 2 might just become the next big box office juggernaut in Indian cinema, and the trailer will only boost the chances further. It can be said that YRF's blockbuster box office winning streak is almost guaranteed. ## The film is scheduled to release on August 14 in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. ## ## Stay tuned...

The film is also expected to benefit from a discounted ticket pricing strategy on Tuesday, with strong bookings already in place. The first week is expected to close at a phenomenal 150+ crore net. ## The film is witnessing a pan-India success, performing consistently across both multiplexes and single screens. Its youthful appeal and emotional storytelling have particularly resonated with younger audiences, who are showing up in large numbers. With no major competition until August 1st, Saiyaara is expected to maintain its dream run at the box office. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: Ahaan Pandey, Aneet Padda's 'Saiyaara' First Sunday (Day 3) Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 20 - Yash Raj Films' Saiyaara goes on the overdrive on Sunday and once again surpassed expectations despite the overloaded first two days at the domestic box office. The film is clocking an average occupancy of over 70% with some areas even showing near 100% today. ## There was a capacity issue in the first two days, as the movie had a smaller release as compared to some of the top stars' movies this year, but that couldn't stop it from scoring another +40% jump on Sunday as it comfortably breached 30 crores net mark today. ## According to early estimates, the third-day collection of the movie is expected to be in the range of 35-37 crores net, with the opening weekend finishing at 81+ crores net. This is the biggest first weekend ever for an Indian romantic film, and with the debutante, the weekend is nothing short of sensational. ## There has been a huge demand for the tickets during the first weekend, where a capacity issue arose despite more and more shows getting added. The advances for Monday look super solid, and if the spot booking response is equally solid, then the movie may breach the 15 crores mark on the first working day. However, it is better to wait how things proceed. ## Apart from the holdovers, there is not much challenge for Saiyaara till the end of this month. The trend so far has been super encouraging with youth, masses and family audience coming to theatres, and this ensured that the film will have a strong run during the weekdays. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: Ahaan Pandey, Aneet Padda's 'Saiyaara' Second Day (Day 2) Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 19 - Yash Raj Film's Saiyaara is a box office juggernaut. After an excellent first day collection of 21 crore net, the romantic drama is witnessing a jump of around 20% which is huge as the film is facing capacity issues in many areas. ## According to early estimates, Mohit Suri's directorial is expected to score 23-25 crores net collection on its second day, taking the total to around 45 crores net in 2 days. The collection could have been much higher had this been a bigger release. ## The jump in collection on the second day is, anyway, a big positive news for the film, as the first day itself faced capacity issues. More shows are being added on demand, and that might also lead to another jump on Sunday, but it is unlikely to be big. ## Starring Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, Saiyaara is doing very well in most areas, especially in metro cities. It is bringing in the youth and mass audience in large numbers. The first weekend is expected to be in the range of 70-75 crores net, which is a dream start for a newcomer film. ## The movie most likely holds up very well during the weekdays, starting from Monday. The film has faced a capacity issue over the weekend, so there will be a large audience which will turn up during the weekdays. Saiyaara is a certified blockbuster, but how far it can go remains to be seen. ## Stay tuned...

Ajay Devgn's 'Son of Sardaar 2' Advance Booking Update: A Tough Challenge Awaits

Mumbai, July 19 - The Bollywood film industry is rejoicing with the unexpected blockbuster success of Yash Raj Films' musical romantic drama Saiyaara, featuring two debutantes, Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda. Mohit Suri's directorial has taken the box office by storm and is on its way to becoming a big blockbuster. ## Well, the party could be doubled for the industry with Ajay Devgn-fronted much-awaited romantic action comedy Son of Sardaar 2 hitting the big screen next week. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film is carrying a positive buzz within the trade circle. ## Son of Sardaar 2 advance booking update ## With less than a week left for the film to release on August 1, the makers are putting in efforts to intensify the promotion. The second trailer of the film will be launched on July 20, and according to the reports, it will be followed by the booking, which is now expected to open on July 28, on Monday. The booking was supposed to open on July 22, but the makers have pushed back the release of the film by a week, to August 1, due to Saiyaar's strong performance. ## In the post-pandemic world, the positive movement in booking has become a must, especially for big-budget films. In the case of SOS2, the makers are hopeful that the franchise value and the buzz for the movie will reflect in the pre-sales for a good start at the box office. ## Will Saiyaara Impact Son of Sardaar 2? ## Son of Sardaar 2 looked like a safe bet at the box office a week ago, but things might have changed now. While it is still likely to take a good opening, it might not be as big as earlier, and the reason is Saiyaara. The strong performance of this YRF production must have raised the eyebrows of the SOS2 makers, as their film is going to be challenged by this young love story. ## It is like a Deja vu for the SOS franchise, which has a history of clashing with a YRF film. Back in 2012, the first Son of Sardaar film was up against YRF's Jab Tak Hai Jaan, starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan. However, despite the mighty clash, SOS managed to do good business at the box office worldwide, and the makers will be hoping that things will be the same this time around as well. ## About Son of Sardaar 2 ## Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and produced by Devgn Films and Jio Studios, SOS2 stars Ajay Devgn alongside Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Deepak Dobriyal, Chunky Panday, Neeru Bajwa, Kubbra Sait, Vindu Dara Singh, and Mukul Dev, among others. ## Stay tuned...
