'Stree 2' Tops 1 Crore (10 Million) Footfalls In India In 5 Days; 5th Movie of 2024 To Do So

Mumbai, August 20 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios' horror-comedy Stree 2 has topped 1 crore (10 million) footfalls in just 5 days at the Indian box office, becoming the second fastest movie of 2024 to achieve the feat after Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which did this in just 3 days.## Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, Stree 2 has sold approximately 1.15 crores of tickets for the first five days + previews. It is the second Bollywood movie of the year to score 10 million or more footfalls after Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter which generated 1.17 crore footfalls.## Overall, Stree 2 has become the 5th film of the year to sell 10 million or more tickets at the Indian box office, which also includes Telugu blockbusters - Kalki (3.63+ crores), and Hanuman (1.44 crores) along with the all-time highest-grossing Malayalam movie, Manjummel Boys (1.16 crores). ## At the box office, Stree 2 has grossed approximately 275 crores domestically in 5 days which makes it the biggest Bollywood grosser of the year after beating Fighter (254 crores gross). Box Office: 'Stree 2' First Monday Early Estimates; Sensational

Mumbai, August 19 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios blockbuster Stree 2 once again hits it out of the park on its first Monday as the collection comfortably topped Friday numbers by a good margin due to the Raksha Bandhan holiday. ## According to the early estimates, the Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy scored in the range of 36-38 crores net collection on its first Monday (5th day). This takes the total collection of the film to around 228 crores net which is sensational.## The movie is performing exceptionally well everywhere, especially in the mass belt which is going crazy. The Raksha Bandhan holiday provides an additional boost, especially in Gujarat. ## The holiday period is over but Stree 2 is expected to maintain a strong hold due to the super positive public reception and lack of competition from other movies. Mumbai, August 19 - Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is all set to make a comeback in the Race franchise to headline Race 4 which is currently in the scripting stage as the makers aim to take it on floors by 2025, according to the report by Pinkivlla. ## Saif Ali Khan has been an integral part of this action thriller franchise, however, after headlining the first two movies, he missed out on Race 3 which was released in 2018 with Salman Khan in the lead role. The horror-comedy, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, down Hrithik Roshan's Fighter in just 5 days to become the number 1 Bollywood title of the year. ## Fighter, released during the Republic Day weekend, scored approximately 212.75 crores net/255 crores gross in its lifetime run and Stree 2 has surpassed this total in under 5 days. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the movie is looking to score 30+ crores net on its 5th day which will take its total collection to 220+ crores net. ## Meanwhile, Stree 2 has beaten Chhichhore (153 crores net) along with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar (147 crores net) and Saaho (145 crores net) on its 4th day to become Shraddha Kapoor's highest-grossing movie domestically in Hindi. The Indian Box Office Grosses 350+ Crore During Independence Day Weekend 2024; 'Stree 2' Leads With 230 Crore Gross

Mumbai, August 19 - The Indian Box Office delivered 350+ crores gross collection during the Independence Day weekend (August 15-18). Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 led the pack with a monstrous 230 crore gross, which is almost 2/3 of the total collection. ## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 has had the second-biggest opening weekend of 2024 in India after Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which grossed approximately 370 crores in its 4-day first weekend. While Kalki 2898 AD was a multilingual movie, Stree 2 was in just the Hindi language. ## Apart from Stree 2, the other movies failed to capitalise on the big opportunity during the long weekend. Chiyaan Vikram's Thangalaan was the second biggest domestic grosser with approximately 33.75 crores collection which is underwhelming. The fellow Tamil title Demonte Colony 2, however, performed well with approximately 17.75 crores gross against minimum expectations.## Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham-fronted Vedaa, which were expected to do well during the Holiday period, failed without making much noise with approximately 17 crores gross and 16.50 crores gross domestic collection, respectively. ## The other two films which failed miserably at the box office are the Telugu movies, Double iSmart and Mr. Bachchan which grossed approximately 13.75 crores and 9.50 crores, respectively. Mumbai, August 17 - Amid the struggle of other films, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy Stree 2 is turning out to be an unstoppable force at the box office, already one of the biggest grossers for the talent involved. ## After the sensational first 2 days, the Amar Kaushik's directorial blockbuster scored a huge first Saturday, crossing the 40 crores net mark for the second time in its short run so far. According to the early estimates, Stree 2 scored in the range of 43-45 crores net collection on its third day. ## The film's total collection after three days (including previews) is around 135 crores net, which already makes it the 3rd biggest Bollywood grosser of the year. Stree 2 is expected to breach the 50 crores net mark on Sunday and then follow it with a rocking collection on Monday which is the national holiday due to Raksha Bandhan. ## Considering the trend, Stree 2 is expected to score 215+ crores net over the 5-day opening weekend. Mumbai, August 15 - Amid the box office juggernaut of Stree 2, Akshay Kumar-fronted comedy drama Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham-starrer action drama Vedaa were battling it out to come second and it is the latter one which won the race by a fair margin.## According to the early estimates, the John Abraham-led scored in the range of 6.50-7 crores net on its opening day. It is a fair opening considering a 3-way clash. It was always going to be difficult for the movie to score due to Stree 2 which was easily the first choice of the moviegoers but Vedaa did decently overcome that challenge.## The occupancy of Vedaa showed improvement throughout the opening day, especially post-noon shows. The opening of the film is above the projections by a decent margin which can be seen as a good sign. The initial word of mouth seems to be mixed and it needs to be seen how it fairs in the coming days.## Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein showed a significant improvement over the actor's last movie Sarfira but the overall opening remained low to the standard of Akshay who has continuously delivered very good starts at the box office.## According to the early estimates, the comedy-drama scored in the range of 5 crores net on its first day which is in sync with projections. Mumbai, August 15 - Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted horror-comedy Stree 2 has stormed the box office and put all the projections in the backburners to score one of the biggest openings of all time and easily the biggest for a movie released on Independence Day (August 15). ## According to the early estimates, Maddock Films' production is expected to score in the range of 45-47 crores net which is among the top 10 starts in Hindi ever. Mumbai, August 14 - The box office juggernaut of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's horror-comedy Stree 2 has begun as it beats superstar Shah Rukh Khan's action comedy Chennai Express to score the biggest previews for a Bollywood title.## Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 has scored an estimated 8.35 crores net on its Wednesday previews, with shows starting from 9:30 PM.
