Akshay Kumar And Radhika Madan Begin Filming Of 'Soorarai Pottru' Remake With Director Sudha Kongara

Mumbai, April 25 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has commenced the shooting of the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit, "Soorarai Pottru" in Mumbai. Akshay will be stepping into the shoes of Suriya. Radhika Madan joined Akshay as the female lead and she will be reprising the role played by Aparna Balamurali in the original movie. ## The Hindi remake, not titled yet, is being directed by Sudha Kongara who has also helmed the original Tamil movie. Akshay, on Monday (April 25), took to Twitter and shared a video of an auspicious coconut-breaking ceremony before kicking off the shoot. Box Office: Jersey First Sunday Early Estimates

Mumbai, April 24 - Jersey starring Shahid Kapoor could not open even to a decent collection and the film could not see any big jump on day two but the biggest shocker came today as even on Sunday Jersey remains flat in terms of collections. Jersey Sunday's early estimates are looking in the range of 5.50-6cr net which is again a low number for the type of stature film Jersey is. Mumbai, April 24 - Ajay Devgn's "Runway 34" is getting ready for the big screen release this Eid on April 29. The thriller movie, based on real incidents, is one of the most anticipated Hindi movies that also features legendary Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles. ## The makers of "Runway 34", meanwhile, have already completed the censorship formalities nearly 3 weeks before the release. According to the reports, the movie has been certified with a 'U/A' certificate by CBFC with zero cuts. Box Office: Jersey First Saturday Early Estimates, Witnesses A Good Growth

Mumbai, April 23 - Shahid Kapoor-starrer Jersey which was carrying some sort of expectations in terms of box office could not really open to big numbers as its opening day came about approx. 3.90 cr net box office collections. Vidyut Jammwal's Khuda Haafiz Chapter 2 To Release In Theaters

Mumbai, April 21 - Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi's action thriller film, Khuda Haafiz: Chapter II – Agni Pariksha, has set a release date in theaters. The first part of the film was released directly on Disney Plus Hotstar in August 2020 and was a successful outing on the digital platform. ## Khuda Haafiz Chapter 1 created a decent buzz and makers thought it will be a good idea to bring its successor to the theaters. Opening Day Box Office Prediction Of Shahid Kapoor's 'Jersey'

Mumbai, April 20 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor is readying for the release of his long-awaited sports drama movie, Jersey, on April 22. The Hindi remake of the Telugu hit of the same name, Jersey, was supposed to release on April 14 itself but was postponed at the 11th hour to avoid a direct clash with Yash-fronted KGF Chapter 2', which is going all guns blazing at the box office. ## Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Jersey also stars Mrunal Thakur. The movie carries a lot of expectations as far as the box office is concerned, however, it won't be easy for it to have a smooth outing. It might have avoided a direct clash with KGF 2, but, things are still not in favor of it. ## KGF Chapter 2 is running riot at the Hindi box office, and will easily be able to retain a significant number of screens in the second week as well. Jersey, on the other hand, is expected to release on around 2000 screens. While these are enough screens for any mid-budget Bollywood film to take a healthy start, the same can't be said for Jersey, which is having low advance booking numbers with only two days to release. ## On any other day, Jersey could have taken the opening of 15-20 crores, keeping Shahid Kapoor's stardom. However, with KGF 2 being the first choice of moviegoers, Jersey, might reduce to the opening of 5-7 crores on the first day, which will be considered a decent start. The advance of the film till April 20 is around 70 lakh, which is very low. The makers are looking very confident about their product, and if it meets with the audience's expectation, then it could build upon that and score a healthy weekend of around 25-27 crores.## Shahid Kapoor's last film, Kabir Singh, was a massive blockbuster and it scored over 370 crores worldwide. However, it was released during the pre-covid time and there was no KGF-sque movie to hamper its chances.
