Arjun Kanungo Wants OTT Platforms To Give Credit To Musicians While Using Songs

Mumbai, April 20, 2021: Singer-actor Arjun Kanungo has emerged as one of the favorite voices of new-generation indie music fans in the country. His last single "Waada Hai" featuring Bigg Boss 13 fame, Shehnaaz Gill received tremendous response from music lovers and became a big hit on Youtube. ## While is continuing to score music, the 30-year-old singer who will soon be seen making his acting debut in Salman Khan starrer, Radhe, is not happy with the OTT platforms which don't give credit to musicians while using their tracks. ## Arjun took to Instagram stories and wrote, "A request to all streaming platform - Please credit streams to featuring artist's account as well. It was much more difficult than I imagined it to be, and I remember I was very nervous on the first day. Even thinking about it makes me nervous right now. But I have to say Salman (Khan) sir and (director) Prabhudeva sir were very encouraging. They helped me a lot. Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in the Rajkumar Hirani directorial, "Sanju", which was released in 2018. The actor-director duo created magic with Sanjay Dutt's biopic which not only entered the rare 300 crores club but also proved to be a life-changing movie for Ranbir who has had a share of ups and downs so far. ## It wasn't the first time Ranbir and Hirani worked together, earlier, Ranbir played a small cameo in Hirani's "PK" which starred Aamir Khan in the title role. Actress Aditi Rao Hydari, who is currently seen in the Netflix movie Ajeeb Daastaans, said that she does miss going out to theaters, despite the OTT platforms are doing good to entertain people. She said there is a sense of "magic" in theatres, which has always been there and will never go away.## "I miss it because there's the magic associated with the theatre, there's a whole childhood nostalgia, and it's a very immersive experience. You go there and you become a part of the world there", Aditi told IANS.## However, due to the lockdown last year, the OTT platforms witnessed an exponential rise in terms of new content and subscribers, and Aditi is not wrong when she says that OTTs have been the actor's best friend in many ways. ## "In the lockdown, OTT platforms have been our best friends. Director Shankar Hits Back At Producer Aascar Ravichandran Over 'Anniyan' Copyright Issue

A day after Ranveer Singh announced his first collaboration with renowned filmmaker S. Shankar for the Hindi remake of the 2005 Tamil movie "Anniyan", the movie got into trouble over the copyright issue. Aascar V Ravichandran, who produced the original "Anniyan", has asked Shankar to stop immediately further proceedings as he is the sole owner of the entire story rights. ## "I'm utterly shocked to know that you are likly to undertake the direction of a Hindi film by adopting the story of the movie Anniyan. You are well aware of the fact that I am the producer of the said movie Anniyan. The entire story rights were purchased by me from the writer Sujatha (alias late Rangarajan) for which the full payment was done by me to him and necessary records are also available. I am the whole and sole owner of the rights of the storyline. As such, any such adoption or remaking or copying the main plot of the said movie, without my permission, is totally illegal", the statement, shared by the producer, read. ## Ravichandran also reminded Shankar when the Robot director was under severe stress due to the failure of "BOYS", he was the one who still provided Shankar, the opportunity to direct "Anniyan", after which he regained his lost ground. Pankaj Tripathi Suggests A Small Film City In Bihar Village

Versatile actor, Pankaj Tripathi who hails from Bihar, has come up with an interesting idea and put forth a suggestion of creating a film-friendly set up in a village near Patna city of Bihar, where people from the Bollywood film industry can shoot for their projects. ## "A film-friendly 'mohalla' or colony is possible with a little bit of funding from the government to create a film panchayat at a well-connected village near Patna, at least on a trial basis for now. The area can hence be marked by filmmakers all across the country to shoot any urban setting scenes they need to for their film, with the maximum help in the form of a solid support system provided by the locals there", says Tripathi. ## The actor also said that the villagers can be trained to work as junior artists in the films shot there, which could be a source of income for them. ## "Locals can be a part of the crew as well as act as junior artistes in films that are shot there. We could try creating a village similar to the likes of Mawlynnong village in Meghalaya, which is known to be the cleanest village of Asia also a tourist spot. I have been to this village and it's a very fascinating place to visit", added Tripathi.## On the work front, Tripathi has several projects in the pipeline including Ranveer Singh-starrer "83", "Mimi", and "Bachchan Pandey", featuring Akshay Kumar. Ranveer Singh To Team Up With Director Shankar For Hindi Remake Of The Tamil Blockbuster Anniyan

Earlier, there were reports that Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh will collaborate with an ace filmmaker S. Shankar for a large-scale Hindi film. Well, keeping all the speculations aside, the director himself confirmed the much-awaited collaboration which he termed as the larger-than-life cinematic experience. The film will be the official Hindi adaptation of Shankar's own directorial 2005 Tamil psychological action thriller, "Anniyan" starring Chiyaan Vikram. ## "I am blessed to have this opportunity to be a part of the spectacular cinematic vision of Shankar sir. He is an exception to the norm, a true disruptor. I had always hoped and dreamed that I would get a chance to collaborate with him. To lead a film like 'Anniyan' is a dream come true for any artiste. Vikram sir, one of our country's finest talents, an artist who I hugely admire, gave a colossal performance in the original, one that can never be matched. I can only hope that my interpretation and rendition of the part also connect with audiences in the same way", Ranveer said in a statement. ## The Hindi remake will be produced by Dr. Jayantilal Gada under his banner Pen Studios and co-produced by God Bless Entertainment, with the soundtrack on the Saregama label. Shankar aims to take Anniyan to another level altogether with the help of modern VFX and state-of-the-art technology and it is the project Shankar and his team have been planning to put together for a long time now. ## The film will mark Shankar's return to Hindi films twenty years after his only Hindi directorial, Nayak (2001) that starred Anil Kapoor in the lead. Interestingly, that film was also the remake of his own Tamil political drama, Mudhalvan (1999). ## Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is currently filming for the Rohit Shetty adaptation of Shakespeare's Comedy Of The Errors "Cirkus" in Hyderabad, and will then head to Karan Johar's next directorial which is a relationship drama co-starring Alia Bhatt. He is expected to do one more film before starting Shankar's film. The actor's "83" and "Jayeshbhai Jordaar" are ready to release. ## On the other hand, Shankar also has "Indian 2", with Kamal Hassan reprising his role from the 1996 film, in the works.
