Avatar: The Way of Water Races Past $2 Billion Mark At The Global Box Office
Los Angeles, January 22 - James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water has passed the $2 billion mark at the global box office, becoming the first film in the covid-19 pandemic era to achieve the feat. ## The blockbuster sequel reached the box office milestone in 38 days. At the end of its 6th weekend, "Avatar 2" stands at $2.02 billion globally. It has grossed approx. $598 million at the domestic (North America) and $1.43 billion overseas. ## The Disney-backed blockbuster has grossed $228 million on IMAX and becomes the second highest-grossing film ever on IMAX globally.## "Avatar 2" is only the 6th film in history to reach the $2 billion mark, and out of which, 3 films belong to James Cameron.
