Mumbai, July 3 - Over the last few weeks, reports about the potential collaboration between Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and director Atlee have been all over media headlines. Touted to be a 2-hero project with Kamal Haasan as the parallel lead, will mark the first movie together for the trio if materializes. ## While the aforementioned collaboration is making fans go crazy, another one between the duo of Salman Khan and Atlee is shaping up and is reportedly confirmed. June 2024 Indian Box Office Report

Mumbai, July 2 - June was the second biggest month of the year at the Indian box office with close to 1000 crores gross collection after January which is the only month to cross this milestone so far. ## In June 2024, films across languages grossed approximately 985 crores at the domestic box office, as Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD being the biggest grosser with approximately 370 crores gross, followed by Bollywood movie, Munjya with approximately 111 crores gross. ## In terms of language, Hindi once again topped the month and also saw the biggest of the year so far by topping March month's collection of 386 crores with approximately 390 crores gross which includes Kalki (130+ crores) and Munjay (111 crores) as the two biggest grossers. The Telugu version is also back in the top 2 with approximately 275 crores gross, thanks to Kalki with 200 crores gross. ## Meanwhile, the Malayalam language collection slipped to 4th spot after being the second biggest for four consecutive months. The Tamil industry also witnessed a rebound and has had the biggest month of the year with approximately 137 crores gross, thanks to Maharaja (60 crores) and Garudan (45 crores). ## The total domestic collection after the first 6 months is approximately 4700 crores gross. Kangana Ranaut Announces New Release Date of 'Emergency'

Mumbai, June 25 - Kangana Ranaut, the recently elected member of parliament, has announced a new release date for his long-awaited biographical political drama Emergency on the day of the 50th year of The Emergency imposed in 1975 for two years by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi. ## The movie, which is written, directed and stars Kangana Ranaut as the late Indira Gandhi, was supposed to be released on June 14 but it will now hit worldwide theatres on September 6, 2024, and will have a solo release. Kangana has also produced it under her banner Manikarnika Films with EaseMyTrip. ## Emergency marks Kangana's second directorial venture after Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi which she co-directed with Krish Jagarlamudi in 2019. Apart from the Queen actress, Emergency also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, and Satish Kaushik as various political leaders. ## National award-winning music composer, G. V. Female Leads Finalize To Star Opposite Varun Dhawan In Director David Dhawan's Comic Entertainer

The duo previously collaborated for Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2, and Coolie No. 1 (direct digital release). ## The yet-untitled upcoming film is said to be an original script unlike the previous three collaborations of the duo and is touted to be a hilarious entertainer. Now according to the report by Pinkvilla, Southern beauty Sreeleela has been roped in to play the female lead. ## Sreeleela has been super busy for the last couple of years in the Telugu film industry and is now set to make her mark in Bollywood with her debut outing opposite Varun Dhawan. The movie will have two actresses and the second female lead is said to be Mrunal Thakur. ## "Much like all David Dhawan comedies, this one is also a love triangle where the humour is a result of confusion in the leading man's life. The team has roped in Sreeleela to play Varun's love interest in the film. It's a pakka-commercial entertainer and Sreeleela also feels that this would be the perfect launch pad for her in the Hindi markets", says the report. ## The movie will be produced by Ramesh Taurani under the banner of TIPS Entertainment. Director Gopichand Malineni Shares Details Into Sunny Deol's Character In SDGM

Mumbai, June 24 - Bollywood star Sunny Deol is in no mood to stop after testing blood with the mega-blockbuster success of Gadar 2 last year. The movie grossed close to 700 crores worldwide and became one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time. ## After Gadar 2, Sunny Deol has been on a signing spree and the latest movie he has signed is Telugu director Gopichand Malineni's mass entertainer, tentatively called SDGM (Sunny Deol, Gopichand Malineni). Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, the shoot of the movie has already commenced for 2025 release. ## Sunny Deol will be playing a common man in the movie who takes on a powerful villain. Gopichand Malineni shared details about Sunny's role in a recent interview (via Mid-Day). The filmmaker also revealed that the story is inspired by many real-life incidents. ## "I'll present him in a never-before-seen action avatar. After Gadar 2 was released, I narrated the story to Sunny sir. He said yes immediately, adding that he was looking for this kind of role. Sunny sir doesn’t play a man in uniform. While it is the story of a common man who takes on [the system] to fight for what is right, it is an unusual concept", the Veera Simha Reddy director said. ## Adding further, Gopichand Malineni said that they have roped in three action directors as there are strong action set-pieces in this movie. Apart from Sunny Deol, the two leading ladies, Saiyami Kher and Regina Cassandra will also be seen in fierce avatars. Box Office: 'Munjya' Crosses 100 Crore At The Worldwide Box Office

Mumbai, June 24 - Maddock Films' Munjya has topped 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office, becoming the 7th Bollywood film of 2024 to achieve the feat. The horror-comedy entered the 100 crores gross club on its 17th day. ## Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Munjya has approximately 98.35 crores gross (83.30 crores net) in India and an estimated 4.25 crores overseas for 102.60 crores worldwide gross through the third Sunday. It is the second movie in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe to reach the 100 crores mark after Stree (182 crores).## Starring Abhay Verma, and Sharvari Wagh, Munjya is in the race to top 100 crores net collection. It is expected to reach around 90 crores mark by the end of the second week and then, the race to the century mark will begin thereafter. It will be a major competition next week in the form of Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD which releases on June 27. ## Munjya is the 4th film in the horror-comedy universe of producer Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films after Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya. The filmmaker was supposed to follow with a film with Allu Arjun but he has reportedly backed out. ## After Allu Arjun pulled out of the film, Atlee reportedly approached superstar Salman Khan for his next which is said to be a 2-hero action entertainer. Now, according to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the filmmaker has approached megastar Rajinikanth to headline the film with Salman. ## It is said that the formal meeting of Atlee, Rajinikanth, and Salman Khan will happen next month and things are expected to turn out positive. "Sun Pictures will be producing the film and they share a family-like bond with superstar Rajinikanth. Atlee on the other hand has been in touch with Salman Khan for the last two years. Box Office: Ranbir Kapoor's 'Rockstar' Re-Release Earns 7+ Crore Gross In 35 Days

Mumbai, June 21 - Director Imtiaz Ali's musical romantic drama Rockstar is considered one of the finest films of Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor. Released in 2011, Rockstar won several national and international awards but was deemed average at the box office with a worldwide gross collection of around 110 crores. ## Rockstar gained popularity over the years and it has been more than a month since it was re-released in theatres and is safe to say that the movie has become a force at the box office on the limited showcasing which kept increasing week after week due to demand. ## The movie was re-released on over just 8 shows but due to high demand, it is currently playing on over 400+ shows daily. Box Office: Kartik Aaryan's 'Chandu Champion' Scored A Low First Week

The first-week collection of the movie is lower than the 2 weeks old horror-comedy Munjya's opening week collection which pretty much tells the story. ## Directed by Kabir Khan, Chandu Champion opened to positive reviews and word of mouth but things didn't go the way makers would have hoped for after receiving rave reviews, and as a result, it performed below the expectations. ## Post the COVID-19 pandemic, Chandu Champion has had the second lowest first-week scorer for Kartik Aaryan, ahead of just Shehzada which minted approximately 27.35 crores net first-week and 32 crores lifetime collection. Box Office: Munjya Tops Bhediya To Become Second Highest-Grosser In Maddock Films' Horror-Comedy Universe

Mumbai, June 21 - Director Aditya Sarpotdar's horror-comedy Munjya has become the second highest-grossing film in Maddock Films' horror-comedy universe, behind only Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's Stree. ## The fourth film in the horror-comedy universe, Munjya has scored approximately 68 crores net collection in 2 weeks (14 days) and it will be crossing Bhediya (69 crores net) today to become the second biggest grosser in the series. Stree is currently on top with approximately 130 crores net. ## Munjya has had an excellent hold in the second week, dropping just 7.50% from the first week for approximately 32.65 crores net, despite the release of Kartik Aaryan's Chandu Champion which is a much bigger movie in terms of scale, budget and star power and also with positive reviews and word of mouth. ## The Abhay Verma and Sharvari Wagh-starrer are expected to remain strong in its third week in the absence of notable releases.
