Ana de Armas Fans Sue Universal Studios For 'Yesterday' Promo

Los Angeles, Jan 22 (IANS) Two fans of the Cuban-Spanish actress Ana de Armas, have filed a lawsuit against Universal Studios seeking a settlement of at least $5 million on behalf of affected consumers.## The lawsuit has been filed over false advertising, alleging that the fans were duped into renting the 2019 film 'Yesterday' because the trailer gave them the impression that the actress would appear in the film, reports 'Variety'.## Conor Woulfe, 38, of Maryland, and Peter Michael Rosza, 44, of San Diego County, California, say they each paid $3.99 to rent the movie on Amazon Prime, only to discover that de Armas had been removed from the final cut of the film.## The lawsuit accessed by 'Variety' states: "Because consumers were promised a movie with Ana De Armas by the trailer for 'Yesterday', but did not receive a movie with any appearance of Ana de Armas at all, such consumers were not provided with any value for their rental or purchase".## 'Yesterday' stars Himesh Patel (most recently seen in 'Don't Look Up') as Jack Malik, a singer-songwriter who becomes the only person on Earth to remember 'The Beatles' after a supernatural occurrence.## He rockets to stardom after he claims the credit for the English rock band's songs. James Bond Producer Confirms Idris Elba Being Considered As The Next 007

Los Angeles, Jan 21 (IANS) Hollywood star Idris Elba is still in contention to be the next James Bond. Having long been touted to be the first black 007, the 'Luther' actor is confirmed to be "part of the conversation" for the new iteration of the famous British spy.## It's producer Barbara Broccoli herself who spilled the possibility of Elba joining the franchise, reports aceshowbiz.com.## "Well, we know Idris, we're friends with him, and he's a magnificent actor," she told Deadline.## "And, you know, it's been part of the conversation, but it's always difficult to have the conversation when you have someone in the seat". Broccoli, however, noted that they're in no rush to name Daniel Craig's replacement.## She shared: "I think we have decided that until 'No Time to Die' has had its run and Daniel has been able to, well, we've all been able to savor, reap the benefits of Daniel's wonderful tenure, we're not gonna think about, or talk about anybody else".## 'No Time to Die', which is billed as Craig's swan song in his role as 007, went on to become the second-highest grossing movie of the pandemic with $774 million worldwide after a long delay due to the Covid pandemic.## Despite the apparent struggle of the movie industry to convince audiences to return to theaters, Broccoli said she and other studio executives kept their faith in the irreplaceable attraction of cinemas.## "We believe in the power of the theatrical release and the cinema, and that's what we've always done, and that's what 'Bond' has always done, and we cannot agree to go PVOD, not only just for the health of our brand and our movie but we can't do that to the cinema industry," Broccoli said about having "No Time to Die" stick to its theatrical release.## "We can't do it to the exhibitors".## Stay tuned...

Andrew Garfield Reveals Emma Stone's Reaction After He Lied About 'Spider-Man' Return

She was like, 'Are you in this new Spider-Man film?'" he recalled. "And I was like, 'I don't know what you're talking about'", the Golden Globe winner admitted.## He continued: "She was like, 'Shut up. Just tell me'. I'm like, 'I honestly don't know' - I kept it going, even with her".## After Stone watched 'No Way Home' and found out the truth, she was understandably upset with her former boyfriend. Garfield shared: "And then she saw it. She was like, 'You're a jerk'".## He had numerous times denied that he would reprise his role as Spider-Man in 'No Way Home' before it hit theatres.## "I heard about it. And I did see it. And it's Photoshop", he said on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' in September 2021 after a leaked photo showed him wearing the suit again.## He further explained his position with the project: "I think that Tom Holland is just the perfect Peter Parker and Spider-Man, so I am super stoked. I get to just be a fan again, which is my preferred position.## "To be able to sit in the audience and kind of go, 'Yeah, you screwed up, mate. You didn't do it as well as you could have done, eh?' I get to be that guy that's just like, 'Yeah, I don't really love the suit'".## In a recent interview with TheWrap, the 38-year-old actor admitted it was "stressful" to lie to the media.## "It was stressful, I'm not gonna lie. I don't like to lie and I'm not a good liar, but I kept framing it as a game," the SAG Award nominee continued explaining.## "And I kept imagining myself purely as a fan of that character, which is not hard to do".## Stay tuned...

Oscar Isaac Is Marvel's Newest Superhero With 'Moon Knight'

Los Angeles, Jan 18 (IANS) Marvel Studios has unveiled the first trailer for its Disney Plus series 'Moon Knight' and it has a new superhero played by actor Oscar Isaac.## The teaser was unveiled on Monday night, officially launching the 2022 slate for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, reports variety.com.## In 'Moon Knight' premiering on March 30, Isaac plays Marc Spector, a former soldier with a profound case of dissociative identity disorder that manifests as fully distinct individuals. He becomes the conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, which only further exacerbates Marc's anxiety over his mental illness.## In the trailer, set to Kid Cudi's 'Day an' Night', Marc can't tell the difference between his normal life and his dreams. He plays with a Rubik's cube, unable to fall asleep, only to jump out of bed in a panic with his foot chained to his bed, though he seemingly forgets he was the one who restrained himself the night before. After visiting a museum in ancient Egypt, he sees a vision of Khonshu and later meets Ethan Hawke's villain, a cult leader who encourages Marc to embrace the darkness within himself.## The trailer ends with Marc being enveloped by the Moon Knight costume and a shot of him brutally beating someone up on a bathroom floor.## Unlike all of Marvel Studios' previous series for Disney Plus, which were based on existing characters from the company's pre-2019 feature films, 'Moon Knight' charts a brand new path, with a totally new set of characters and a storyline that has no clear initial connection to the MCU.## Making his Marvel comics debut in 1975, Moon Knight initially had superpowers based on the phases of the moon, but more recent iterations have kept his abilities mortal, aided by sophisticated gadgetry.## That has drawn comics fans to compare the character to the DC Comics superhero Batman.## 'Moon Knight' co-stars Hawke and May Calamawy, while Jeremy Slater serves as creator and head writer, with Mohamed Diab and the team of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead directing.## The show inaugurates Marvel Studios' second year delivering TV series for Disney Plus alongside its feature films. Also expected in 2022 for the streamer: 'She-Hulk', a legal comedy starring Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Josh Segarra, and Jameela Jamil; 'Ms. Marvel', a coming-of-age dramedy starring newcomer Iman Vellani in the title role; and Season 2 of the animated series 'What If?'.## Stay tuned...

Angelina Jolie Calls Her 'Eternals' Character A Troubled Soul

Mumbai, Jan 17 (IANS) Hollywood star Angelina Jolie, who essays the role of Thena in Chloe Zhao's superhero film 'Eternals', describes her character as someone who is not very comfortable during peacetime and this trait emanates from the moral injury of the character.## Due to her special ability to manipulate cosmic energy to augment her life force which grants her virtual invulnerability and immortality, Thena is known for being a social misfit. I understand her, and how she feels".## She further adds, "Thena is not comfortable in peacetime. She doesn't know how to exist as a civilian or as a lover or as a friend, but she does know war.
