Aastha Gill hopes to spread cheer with 'Video bana de'

Mumbai, April 27 (IANS) Singer Aastha Gill has collaborated with Sukh E for a fun wedding song "Video bana de", and says she hopes that the track brings "much-needed cheer and optimism" amid the challenging times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.## "This is the first time I am collaborating with Sukh E. I have always loved his music, and working on this together has been super fun," Aastha said.## "It's a wedding song, a track that will definitely make you tap your feet. We created and shot the song before the lockdown, and in these tough times I hope Video Bana de brings in much-needed cheer and optimism," she added.## SukhE said: "‘Video bana de' is quirky, unconventional and bright. Aastha's vivacious energy just added to the whole experience of making the song. I hope this track helps in maintaining positivity during these tough times."## Sony Music India released the track on Monday. Since the song has a wedding theme, the duo recently announced a "Virtual wedding" as part of a promotional strategy. COVID-19: Punjabi film, music stars unite for song of hope

Mumbai, April 22 (IANS) Punjabi celebrities including Neeru Bajwa, Sargun Mehta, Afsana Khan and Rubina Bajwa have come together for a music video of the song "Jitange hosle naal", which is an attempt to give hope to Indians amid the testing times of COVID-19.## It is a tribute from the Punjabi film industry to health workers and policemen fighting against coronavirus.## The track has been sung by Afsana Khan, Rza Heer. It has lyrics by Veet Baljit and music by MP Athwal.## "The song is about love, hope, and spreading happiness. It says 'jitange hosle naal' which means if we have the courage, we will definitely win. She is spending a lot of time in her home studio with composer and partner, Ram Sampath, working on new songs and collaborations.## "During the lockdown period, I have this newfound energy to work on a variety of music. There are no commercial pressures, no race against time to meet a deadline and it's now that I am doing some of my best, most gratifying work. I am exploring new genres, new tunes and a large variety of music," said Sona.## "I just spoke to the prolific songwriter and multiple award-winning lyricists Amitabh Bhattacharya about the current music scenario. Ram and I had last worked with him on the soundtrack of 'Delhi Belly'. We have decided to create some beautiful love ballads together, the kind that has gone missing from our mainstream nowadays. I'm also working with a lot of new, younger talent who are bursting with ideas," she added.## Ram shared that slowing down has helped them appreciate the things they took for granted and that has flowed into the creative process. "It's brought the focus back on the roots of music: melody, lyrics and a sense of hope for the future. We have too much and want too much. This time has taught us to work on what we need. As it's not possible to gather the whole team now, he shot it on phone.## "This song just like every other song of mine, is pure melody and is all about love. The reason is, in his new jagrata hit that he performs at the event, Chanchal has chosen to focus on the one thing that concerns everyone right now -- coronavirus. ## The opening line of the song goes: ## Dengue bhi aaya, swine flu bi aaya ## Chikungunya ne shor machaya ## Khabre ki ki ho na ## O kitthon aaya corona ## Maiya ji, kitthon aaya corona ## (There was dengue, there was swine flu. Chikungunya created some noise, too.
