Vidyut Jammwal's 'Khuda Haafiz Chapter II - Agni Pariksha' shoot wraps up

Mumbai, Dec 27 (IANS) The shooting for Vidyut Jammwal-starrer 'Khuda Haafiz Chapter II - Agni Pariksha' has been wrapped up. ## The upcoming film directed by Faruk Kabir wrapped up its shoot with the last schedule shot in Egypt. ## Vidyut said: "Essaying Samir has been an adventurous journey spanning across two wonderful films directed by the brilliant Faruk Kabir." ## "As we wrap the second one, I'm grateful and proud to be on a film that pushed me to my limits. It made performing stunts and action sequences even more exciting for me. I hope to give the audience something memorable and epic with this one." ## Filmmaker Faruk Kabir added that shooting in Egypt was a great adventure. ## He said: "Before wrapped the film, we shot there for 15 days and we felt thoroughly welcomed in this mystical country. The landscape that it offers 'Khuda Haafiz Chapter II Agni Pariksha' is phenomenal. It makes the visually palatable and amps up the thrill." ## Kumar Mangat Pathak, Managing Director at Panorama Studios, said: "We've repeated the team of the first instalment and the comfort, friendship and pace of work that they maintain are commendable. With the film wrapped, we're excited about launching into post-production and announcing its release date." ## Panorama Studios International presents 'Khuda Haafiz Chapter II - Agni Pariksha', a Panorama Studios production, written and directed by Faruk Kabir, produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, co-produced by Sanjeev Joshi, Aditya Chowksey and Hasnain Hussaini. ## It also stars Shivaleeka Oberoi. ## The second chapter outlines the intense action love story between the lead characters essayed by Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi, who are both tasked with facing challenges posed by circumstances and society. ##

He will be seen playing the character of Shahid's best friend in the movie. ## Speaking of his character, Anjum reveals: "I am playing Amrit Bhalla in the film. Me and Shahid are best friends. In the film, Shahid is shown in trouble to arrange Rs 500 rupees for the cricket jersey which his son demands as a birthday gift. The audience will see me giving many ideas to Shahid to arrange money." ## He further continues: "Basically Amrit is good for nothing. He doesn't like to work at all. Mumbai, Dec 27 (IANS) Three-time National Award-winning director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury has heaped praise on his 'Lost' actress Yami Gautam and called her one of the most conscientious actresses he has worked with on a film. ## Speaking about Yami, Aniruddha said: "It was an incredible experience of working with Yami Gautam. She is one of the most conscientious actresses I have worked with on a film. No matter what, she was always there on the set, prepared before time. I knew she wasn't doing well when we were shooting on one of the most humid days at a live location, but she didn't let that affect the process." ## He said that Yami is a very collaborative artist. ## He added: "We had several discussions before going on the floors. She understood the nuances of her character and embodied it perfectly. She has completely owned the lead part of investigative journalist Vidhi Sahani." ## 'Lost' also stars Pankaj Kapur, Rahul Khanna, Neil Bhoopalam, Pia Bajpiee, and Tushar Pandey. 'Big Little Lies' director Jean-Marc Vallee dies at 58

Los Angeles, Dec 27 (IANS) Jean-Marc Vallee, the Quebecois director of films, including 'Dallas Buyers Club' and TV projects such as 'Big Little Lies', died at his cabin in Canada. He was 58. ## The cause of death was not immediately known, reports variety.com. ## His producing partner, Nathan Ross, said in a statement: "Jean-Marc stood for creativity, authenticity and trying things differently. He was a true artist and a generous, loving guy. Everyone who worked with him couldn't help but see the talent and vision he possessed." ## "He was a friend, creative partner and an older brother to me. The maestro will sorely be missed but it comforts knowing his beautiful style and impactful work he shared with the world will live on." ## Vallee earned an Oscar nomination for best editing for 2013's 'Dallas Buyers Club', which won Oscars for Jared Leto and Matthew McConaughey. The film was based on the true story of Ron Woodroof, an AIDS patient who smuggled pharmaceutical drugs into Texas and distributed them to fellow AIDS patients through the 'Dallas Buyers Club'. ## The next year, he directed 'Wild' starring Reese Witherspoon. ## He continued to work with Witherspoon on the series 'Big Little Lies', for which he won the Emmy for directing a limited series, movie or special. ## His next project was another suspenseful mini-series based on a popular book, 'Sharp Objects'. ## "Jean-Marc Vallee was a brilliant, fiercely dedicated filmmaker, a truly phenomenal talent who infused every scene with a deeply visceral, emotional truth," said a statement released by HBO. ## "He was also a hugely caring man who invested his whole self alongside every actor he directed. We are shocked at the news of his sudden death, and we extend our heartfelt sympathies to his sons, Alex and Emile, his extended family, and his longtime producing partner, Nathan Ross." ## Born in Montreal, Vallee studied film at the Universite du Quebec. After making music videos and short films, he made his first feature 'Black List'. ## After making 2005's acclaimed Quebec film 'C.R.A.Z.Y.', based on the life of a close friend, he directed 'The Young Victoria', which garnered three Academy Award nominations. ## He is survived by two children and three siblings. ##

Mumbai, Dec 27 (IANS) Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, who is gearing up for his upcoming web series titled 'Kaun Banega Shikharwati', says he gets more interesting offers of roles on OTT platforms rather than in films. ## Naseer said, "I am being offered much more interesting work on OTT than in the movies, but since things opened up I have done cameos in several films made by friends. In any case these days it's either the Rs 5,000 crore monsters or the very tiny films being made in Mumbai and I don't fit into the former but have done several of the latter which are probably destined to have a very limited audience if they ever see the light of day (the story of my life!)." ## The upcoming web series is a comedy-drama that revolves around a dysfunctional royal family. The show also features Lara Dutta, Soha Ali Khan, Kritika Kamra, Anya Singh Raghubir Yadav, Cyrus Sahukar, and Varun Thakur, among others. ## Asked about the reason behind taking up this project and Naseer said, "I said 'yes' to KBS because I've been itching to do comedy and this fell into my lap! What's probably unique about it is that the characters are all eccentric in various degrees and with the majority of the content on OTT being expletive-filled blood-soaked revenge dramas or steamy love stories there might be space for a little light-heartedness as well. In addition, her vegan kidswear line, Ed-a-Mamma, also won a 2021 PETA India fashion award for helping to nurture kids' love for animals and nature. ## Alia is known to advocate support for cats and dogs and often uses her voice to call for stronger animal protection laws. Mumbai, Dec 27 (IANS) Actor Mehul Kajaria is all set to enter the sitcom 'Wagle Ki Duniya - Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey' in the upcoming episodes as Rajnish Wadhwa. ## He portrays the character of a well-known creative head of the YouTube food channel - Food Tadka. His entry on the show will add a lot of twists and turns as he will end up eating the delicious food that Vandana Wagle (Pariva Pranati) would prepare for her husband Rajesh Wagle (Sumeet Raghavan) in the show. ## Talking about entering 'Wagle Ki Duniya', Mehul said: "I think getting an opportunity to work for a show that I absolutely loved watching as a kid gives me sheer happiness, and I am on cloud nine. I can't thank the makers enough for bestowing their trust in me and giving me a chance to be a part of a show like 'Wagle Ki Duniya'. I have fond memories of coming back from school and watching the first season of the show back then." ## "The concept is real and relatable to the audience at large. Roshni Kapoor recalls shooting experience during pandemic for 'The Rage - Over Injustice'

Mumbai, Dec 27 (IANS) Roshni Kapoor's debut film 'The Rage - Over Injustice' that went to the Cannes Film Festival, is now all set to release on OTT. ## Roshni who plays an NRI girl in the film is happy with the development. ## The story revolves around how she is determined to fight against the unjust circumstances that befall her friends and herself through the pursuit of uplifting and empowering the LGBT community. ## "The film was shot in Goa, Pune, and Dubai. The experience of shooting the film was wonderful. Since we shot during April when the Covid situation was not favorable, we went to an island in Goa. We used to carry food and we used to get only about six hours for the shoot as the island was surrounded by goons and bootleggers. ## "So after 8 p.m., we weren't allowed to stay there. There was no network coverage there. We faced several challenges including my major knee injury, insect and mosquito bites, heat strokes, skin burns, etc. but we completed the film the way we wanted," she shares. ## Sharing her prep for the character, she adds: "I didn't get much time to prepare. When I met producer Mohammad Nagman Lateef, he told me about this role, I loved the concept. We were worried about the rise in Covid cases so we decided to finish the film soon. Even when we started, some of the cast members tested positive and we had to replace them. But our director knew how to get the best out of us." ## Roshni, who is also a brand endorser, does not have formal training in acting and she learnt on the job. ## "I realised when I'm facing the camera, I've to leave my real personality behind. When you are shooting, you're only an actor and have to do your job. I've given my best and there are many times where in one take, the shot was finalised. I remember while shooting a scene when I had mud smeared on my face, a fan asked for a photo after the shot and I felt embarrassed, given my condition," she adds. ## So, who inspired her to take up acting? "I would give credit to Mohammad. We met at one of his award functions and he suggested if I would do a movie for Cannes for a good cause. I told him that I'm not into acting, though I'd got many offers. He told me to make a movie that works as a message for people. I'm glad I listened to him and took up this opportunity," concludes the actor. ## 'The Rage - Over Injustice' is directed by Anuj Sharma while Anik R. Verma of 'Gully Boy' and 'Special 26' fame is the cinematographer and the production house is Iconic Productions Pvt Ltd. ## The film says a lot about the LGBT community. It also stars actors Adnan Khan and Aditya Khurana. ##
