'Your Daddy’s Not Here Anymore,' Roman Reigns References Vince McMahon's Retirement On WWE Raw

On the final Raw before SummerSlam, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion The Usos overcame The Street Profits and Riddle, Rey Mysterio suffered a massive backstage assault at the hands of The Judgment Day during his Anniversary Celebration, Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair engaged in an out-of-control brawl with Becky Lynch and so much more. ## Roman Reigns, the Usos and Paul Heyman entering to officially kick things off at Madison Square Garden. They received a big mixed reaction including chants for Roman. Reigns told MSG to acknowledge him. They did. Reigns said he didn’t feel like talking anymore so he handed the microphone over to Heyman. ## The mic cut out as Reigns spoke and again as Heyman spoke. Heyman said they must have a sound guy from New Jersey. Heyman said, “We want your name written down, you’re the next one out the door." Heyman said Sunday would mark 700 days of Reigns as the champion but he knew that Brock Lesnar wanted to end Reigns’ party. Heyman noted that Lesnar ended Randy Couture when he was on top, ended Undertaker’s streak, and took John Cena to Suplex City when he was at his peak. ## Heyman mentioned notable streaks in sports, whether it be the Red Sox vs. Yankees or The Rock vs. Stone Cold. However, you wouldn’t think about Lesnar alongside Reigns’ name anymore after Saturday. It was time for Lesnar to go back to Saskatchewan to slaughter hogs. In their final match against each other, Reigns would finally rid himself of Lesnar. The crowd chanted “Suplex City.” ## Theory interrupted. He repeated his plan for SummerSlam again. Reigns told him to step in the ring and acknowledge his Tribal Chief. Theory was defensive as he entered the ring. ## Reigns told Theory that he had no idea what to do with the briefcase so he offered him some advice. Ford tags in and hits a drop kick for a near fall. Jey tags in and hits a forearm in the corner. Jey puts Ford in the ropes and Roman chokes Ford while the referee is already busy. Riddle tags in and he kicks Jay in the middle and punches him. ## Riddle with more kicks in the corner. Jimmy tries to join in but Riddle falls down and Jimmy falls to the floor. Ford tags in and hits a flip dive. ## --Commercial Break-- ## Back from the commercial break...The offense is going on ## A belly-to-back suplex from Jey to Riddle. The Crowd looks hyped because Roman Reigns tags in now. Roman sends Riddle to the turnbuckle. Roman with a suplex to a near fall. Jey tags in. Jey goes for a Splash in the corner, but misses it. Change Made To The Card For Ric Flair's Last Match Due To An Injury

Some changes have been made to Ric Flair's Last match due to an injury! ## It was announced yesterday that a singles match between NJPW's Ren Narita and Yuya Uemura is now scheduled for pay-per-view, Ric Flair's final match. Narita was originally supposed to face Connors at the PPV, but he has a herniated disc in his back and is not currently able to wrestle. ## This would also stop Connors from wrestling at today's NJPW Strong High Alert tapings and at NJPW Music City Mayhem this Saturday. ## "Sorry to all the fans out there," Connors tweeted. "I have dealt with herniation issues for the past 8 years or so, but this one is different. Those who know me know that to miss a week like this, you would darn near have to kill me. And that is about the case right now." ## Ric Flair's Last Match is almost brimmed with quality matches. As of writing there are 11 matches on the card. The event is taking place next Sunday (July 31) as part of Starrcast V in Nashville, Tennessee. Curtis Blaydes -31 faced Tom Aspinall -29 on July 23, 2022, at UFC Fight Night 208, but the bout didn't go as Blaydes expected it to go. Curtis Blaydes was just as frustrated as everyone else following his win in UFC London’s main event, which ended in 15 seconds after Tom Aspinall suffered a knee injury. ## Although, Curtis Blaydes won the battle by technical knockout 15 seconds into the first round due to a knee injury, but showed up his fruition coming out of that sort of win. ## “I have no idea what happened,” Blaydes said at the UFC London post-fight press conference. “He landed the kick, I went to counter, he dropped. That’s all I know. “I’m frustrated. No one wants to win like that. I got the win, I hold my ranking, I get the money. But without a highlight, did it even happen? Did the fight even happen? Is this going to be in the news next week? Am I going to get an interview with Ariel Helwani? Am I going to be on YouTube? Am I going to gain 50,000 Instagram followers? No. So I’m disappointed about all of that, but nothing we can do about it now.” ## “Everyone was hyping up [Aspinall’s] speed. He’s not as fast as you guys make it seem to be,” Blaydes said. “I know it was only 15 seconds, but every exchange, he got touched. In a lot of his highlights, when he’s sparking these guys, it’s because they’re stagnant. They don’t move their feet, which is what I do. So I just don’t believe the hype. I don’t think he’s as fast as everyone thought he was. Obviously he’s also not as big as everyone made him out to be. I felt like I was bigger, more athletic, more explosive, and obviously, I think my bones are stronger, because he landed the kick on me and he ended up getting injured. ## “So I don’t know. It’s a weird night. Really hard to come up with witty answers with a win like that. It’s hard to be hyped up about it.” ## “I’m not risking my ranking [for an immediate rematch],” Blaydes said. “I won the fight. Heading into this fight, I envisioned the winner — which is me — would be fighting the winner of [Tai] Tuivasa and [Ciryl] Gane. So I’m not going to pass up an opportunity to fight those guys when it’s right there, to wait for Tom Aspinall to heal and run it back. ## “As long as I knock out the next guy, the hype’s back. MMA is like that. You could win four fights in a row, lose a fight, everyone says you suck. You could lose three in a row, win one, and you’re the greatest in the world. New Matches have been added to AEW Dynamite Fight For The Fallen following the ROH Death Before Dishonor PPV event. ## It was announced during ROH Death Before Dishonored that interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley would defend his title against RUSH on the July 27 episode of AEW Dynamite Fight for the Fallen. ## Also, Swarve Strickland will take on Tony Nese and "Smart" Mark Sterling in a handicap match.
